Walking on, we're finally in front of a forest

"Here we are Mei!, this is the forest of the dread, of course, contrary to the name, it's not that dangerous, stuff like F rank goblin and E rank wolf are living here, it's got its name because a lot of newbies adventurer underestimated many of those monsters... And of course, the name also doubles as an object of fear so that children don't approach it"

Looking around, I could see many types of plants scattered about, I then pointed toward them

"Mreow?"

"Plants? Well... I guess some of those newbies did get killed by poisonous plants... Not that I know about it because frankly, most of them prefer to be a solo adventurer, all the money I earn belongs to me and all that"

"Meerow..."

Nodding like I'm satisfied with the explanation, I followed Arisu-sama into the forest

"Herb, herb, where are you... Hmm, this one is too small... Ah this one"

Crouching down, Arisu-sama pull out a knife from her pouch, she then processed to cut the herb from its root

"Thanks for your leaf, grow back to make more ok?"

I then can see a line of yellow leave the master's hand and land on the cut plant

Sorcery? 

I move closer to Arisu-sama as I stare at the plant

"*giggle* I must look weird to you huh? Wasting my mana like this, but we will need this plant to grow up strong so we can harvest it again"

I nodded at her and stare at the plant... I then grab the herb Arisu-sama was holding and look alternatively between the two

"*giggle* Curious aren't you... Can you smell the herb and located the other with your nose?"

Huh? Hmm... 

I shrugged my shoulder as I took a sniff of the herb I'm holding

Smell like mint... Mint... What is mint? ... Can't remember, but I do know this is the smell of mint

I then lift my head and started sniffing the air... 

Ah... That direction smells faintly the same as this one

Giving Arisu-sama her herb back, I walk in that direction and beckon her to follow me

"Wait, you can!?"

"Mreow!"

Showing her a large grin, she giggles and starts following me as we move past many trees

Stopping in front of a tree, I look around and sniff a herb that smells exactly the same as the one that master picked up

"Mreow!"

"That... That really is the Cinila Herb! Hahaha!"

Arisu-sama picks me up and spins me around in the air and we both laugh in joy

Ahh... This feeling... I really like it

"Mreawawaw!"

"Hahaha!"

After what felt like an eternity (2 minutes) of joy, the two of us share a shit-eating grin as we thought of the same thing

"You know what this means right?"

"Mreowawa!"

"Yep! These herb has become easier to find... Meaning we could also start looking for the rarer herb that'll be easier to find! Let's go!"

"Mreow!"

We then get to work quickly, and we already finished the 3 quests that were supposed to take an entire day within 2 hours, while also finding one rare herb that lead us to find more rare herbs of its kind

"Mreowawawawa!"

"Whehehe, that's a lot of rare herbs... *Droll* how much worth of money would this be... Whehehe"

Turnout, the two of us share the same brain cells as we're thinking of the same things

"Ah, with just these 3 quests alone, we could buy a nice meal, but with the rare herb, I could even buy an enchanted knife... Let's go! No time to lose! Let's go back and collect our money!"

"Mreyah!"

We then turn around and start making our way back to town, as we're halfway out, I stopped moving... 

"Hm? What's wrong Mei?"

I don't know... But it feels... Suffocating? Wrong? Something just feels out of place...

Instinctively getting my claws out, I put my guard up, seeing this, Arisu-sama pull out her sword and took a defensive stands

*whoosh~~~*

As the Wind blows by... 5 seconds have passed... Another 5... I then decide to slowly march forward... 

*WHOOSH!*

"Mreaw!"

And quickly jump back at the sound of something being thrown... Looking down I could see a throwing knife landed on the place where I would put my feet if I didn't jump back

"Tch"

I look towards the sound of clicking found that it's a bush, as I'm thinking about what to do, Arisu-sama shoots up a white-bluish slash toward the bush

A figure covered in black could be seen rolling away quickly and back into hiding as a swarm of knives being thrown at us

"Mreow!!"

I quickly and swiftly deflected all the knives to the ground with my claws, and I quickly tackle Arisu-sama away from an arrow trajectory that was coming from behind her

"Gah!... Thanks"

"Mreow"

What the fuck is going on... Is it those fuckers back then? But why?... It's not like pride matters much...

I feel around my body, searching for the warmth I felt back then

Don't know if it'll work, but this doesn't look like a good time to not use everything I have

I keep on searching for that warmth, as I deflect another set of knives, I heard Arisu-sama mumble a spell chant and then start firing magic in the attacker's direction

"=Goddess of earth, mother of all, please lend me your power to shoot down the foe before me= [Stone Arrows]"

4 Arrow being thrown towards the forest, a loud sound of arrows made of stone hitting the ground could be heard as well as a yelp of pain, presumably our enemy

"Gah!"

This voice, it's really is the 4 back then! Fucking loser can't even leave a kid alone

I have now finally found the warmth inside my body, I tried to move it, will it around with all my might as I feel my muscles and body respond in kind and move said warmth towards the place of my choice: My claws and legs

As another wave of things being thrown at us, this time, a hail of wind arrows, I quickly claw them down while my claws gain a tinted glow of blue

"HOW-!?"

After finishing I focus on my warm legs, I kick the floor and accelerate myself forward toward the attacker

Without missing a beat, I claw a tree to change direction to the left where I found a cloaked man where I decided to kick him with my legs with all my might

"GAAH!?"

"MREOWWWWWAAAAWW!!"

The man fall down as I landed on his chest where I start clawing at his neck, and manage to decapitate him

*Splat*

His head rolled on the ground, painting the grass a red-blooded color, I then quickly jump back towards Arisu-sama and I could now see her fighting against a cloaked man while another arrow was shoot towards her from her back

Knocking the arrow down, I stare at the enemy in front of Arisu-sama, the guy has a bastard sword, fully masked

I look at Arisu-sama as the two of them clash, she glances at me and gives me a nod, which I reply by rushing off toward the other 2 enemies that are hiding as I block a knife coming my way, presumably thrown out of panic

In the first place, these guys should've know NOT to target someone that's an adventurer yet bring nothing but their sword to a fight

These types of adventurers that bring only their weapon could be categorized as :

1. Idiot/broke

2. Berserker

3. Speedster

4. Skilled swordsman

As you could see... Only one of them is a disadvantaged type, even newbies wear cheap leather armor after all

Dashing through the bush, I kick one of the enemies on the leg, breaking it and making them howl in pain as I decapitate him with my claw

*Splat*

I then grab one of the throwing knives out of him and throw it towards the other one, turnout blocking incoming knives takes a different kind of skill set from throwing them cause I could see that the other guy tried to parry my thrown knife, only for it to be deflected right into his left leg

"Grraaaa!"

"Mya!"

I quickly deliver him a dropkick on his head and knock him out, thinking it's better to leave at least one guy alive, I bring him back to Arisu-sama as I notice that Arisu-sama already finished the capturing part of the mission as the guy looked like he wishes and beg for death as his body are all covered in sword wound

"Mreow?"

"Being that guy here, let's bring them to the guard"

"Mreow."

I dragged the baggage toward his leader and dump him there like the garbage that he is

Arisu-sama then forced down what look like a bottle filled with red liquid down unto the leader's throat, the man wound then start closing up and healed

Oh, some kind of healing item

I then watch Arisu-sama tie the two up and unmasked both of them, and lo and behold, it's the losers from before at the adventurer guild

"C'mon, let's go"

"Mreow"

After picking up all the throwing knives around that we could see, we continue our walk with me dragging the two garbage by their legs, without caring about them scraping against the floor

Getting out of the woods and into the dirt road, we continue to walk as a herd of magical beast pass by

Finally, at the town, the guards come to us and ask us questions about the two-man I'm dragging

Telling them a brief summary, the guards judges that this kind of job is above their pay grade, so they ask their captain to take care of us as many spectators watch on

We've moved inside a guard post, and were asked about what happened

"So, what happened? Why are you bringing these two with you? I mean I could speculate, but just to be sure..."

"Sure, well, to start off with, I'm just minding my own business inside the adventurer guild and took some collecting quest, but then- - -"

"I see, and after you went into the forest?"

"Well, I'm just collecting herb as per request, but when I'm about to go back- - -"

Its basic storytelling considering Arisu-sama is just telling the truth

"I see, well, I'll file in the report and they'll be judged then..."

"What is their rank anyway?"

"... D rank, and... Haah... To think we'll be getting newbie hunter this early in the year... Sorry, for the lack of security around the patrol guards and adventurer guild"

"No, no, it's not your fault... Anyway, I'll go to submit my quest completion"

"Sure, off you go now, and be safe out there"

"Goodbye"

After that, I followed Arisu-sama back to the Adventurer guild where we complete the quest and sell the rare herbs which net us quite a lot of money

"Ehehehehe... So much money~~"

"Mrewheheh"

We're diving into the wonder of food right now, right at the adventurer guild's restaurant conner, they set this restaurant inside the guild with the goal of making high-ranking adventurers stay and not be bored

Of course, there's a bonus benefit in the form of solo adventurers who can spend their money without worry here unlike the other restaurants which could make them a target of pickpocketing and other... Not that rich solo adventurers couldn't handle them if a fight were to break out, but it's troublesome to chase them if you're not the speedy type

After waiting for a while, our order finally arrived as a chef comes with our order

"Here you go miss, deluxe Rex BBQ, Cola vila, Milk, andd~~~~"

With a long pause, I look around in anticipation as a maid could be seen pushing a cart as big as a four-person table with a big food cover on it

"Your Supreme Holocaust Tuna has arrived!"

The chef opens the food cover to reveal a big tuna that's been cooked thoroughly

"It is a C-rank monster that thrives in the volcanic sea, it got its ranking despite its actual strength in combat because of the combination of its hard scales and flame that burn throughout its body despite being underwater... Hope you enjoy one of our Extraordinary menus"

Both the chef and maid bow and then leave us alone after placing everything, I look at Arisu-sama as if I'm asking for permission as I drool and held both my arm in the air, ready to dive in

"*Giggle* Go on and dive right in~"

And I dive right in, with my legs on the table beside the fish, I clawed and cut some of the meat as I eat it with my hand

"Mya... Mryaaawawawawa!!"

What is this delicious, heavenly food??!! 

I have melted in bliss, as the fish in my mouth melted and spread throughout my tongue, the balance of sweet soy sauce, spice, and the fish itself united to become a pleasure trip on the food universe, not to mention this warm feeling that's spreading through me which I presume to be mana

I eat with delight, as I also drank my milk mid-eating to clear my tongue from too much taste

"*giggle* slow down Mei~ no one going to steal it from you"

"Mreow!"

I continue to eat and order more milk when I run out of it, as people around stare and started to comment on me

""How cute~~"" "Wow he's really gulping that thing down" "Wonder what that taste like" "" Go go go go!"" "Eat it up!"

"Man aren't I hungry for some sushi right now" "But you've just eaten like, 4 minutes ago old man"

And so, I eat the fish all up while some of the crowd around just stare at me dumbfounded as to how that big of a fish could fit my stomach

"*Brup* Mryah~~"

"*giggle* come here... There, all clean"

Arisu-sama wipes my face with a towel she rents from the guild, apparently, it's a thing here cause some of the bulky ones are messy... Like me

"Done eating? Let's go home then"

"Mya~"

Arisu-sama left for a bit to pay the guild then she come back to lift me up and left the guild as she start walking back toward her dorm

And so went my first day in this new world as I fell asleep within my summoner's arm
