『Jun!!! Are you alright?!』 Juno threw the Yautja's corpse aside and worriedly jumped onto Jun, forgetting there was a spear piercing his stomach.

『Hiss! Juno, stop, it hurts.』

With a firm tug, Jun managed to pull out the spear but in doing so caused a large amount of his blood to pour out with parts of his intestines visible from the open wound.

The pain caused Jun to stagger and fall onto his back along with Juno who ignored his pleas and continued to nudge her head against his. If she had eyes, she would have been crying, and her whimpers were translated into soft hissing sounds.

Jun sighed as he ignored his state and caressed the girl's smooth head, calming her nerves until they were no longer on high alert. The adrenaline left their bodies and the fatigue rushed in, only making things worse for them who were already rapidly weakening from the loss of blood.

『Let's finish this up and respond to the Queen...』

The twins returned their attention to the Yautja corpse and began devouring it, leaving nothing behind but scattered Yautja equipment lying in a puddle of neon blood.

After consuming the Yautja whole, their bodies pulsated again, undergoing another evolution. Their wounds stopped bleeding and quickly began to scar and their minor injuries were healing rapidly.

This came as a surprise to them as they were in serious need of medical attention, but as aliens, it was unlikely they would get it.

Just as they sighed in relief, no longer threatened with death, a powerful telepathic probe touched their minds, trying to communicate with them.

『Jun...』 (Juno)

『It's okay.』 (Jun)

The two let whoever was probing them into their minds and soon a voice of unquestionable authority spoke.

『What's happening on the surface?』 The Queen asked.

『A powerful predator appeared, but we took care of it.』 Jun responded.

『How many more threats are there?』 (Queen)

『One more.』 (Jun)

『Deal with it, but keep it alive and bring it to me, and help the other children escape their imprisonment.』 (Queen)

『Yes, my Queen.』 (Jun)

After the Queen had given the twins their orders, she cut off the link to communicate with them. At the same time, Juno's body twitched uncomfortably, and Jun who was inextricably linked with her soul, could feel her emotional state.

『Are you... jealous?』 Jun asked slightly amused.

『Of course I am! I'm supposed to be your Queen, not some whore who only knows how to lay eggs...』 Juno pouted.

Jun, in response, stood up from the ground and nudged her forehead against hers.

『You will always be my Queen.』 (Jun)

『You mean it?』 (Juno)

『Why ask a question you already know the answer to?』 (Jun)

Juno's heart fluttered and her stomach churned with butterflies as she shyly crawled out from her brothers' arms and fell to the ground. Her figure disappeared into the shadows quickly and began searching for the other Yautja.

Jun laughed at her shyness and quickly followed after her, but not without taking the Yautja's spear. The Smart Disc, as thin as its blades were, could not withstand the acidic blood of Xenomorphs after prolonged exposure to it and melted into a lump of metal. But the spear was still as sturdy as it was in its first appearance.

ML POV

Nightfall. What a busy day it was, I thought while strolling through the bushes and trees leisurely. The moonlight shining through the tree leaves scattered like petals, reflecting from Juno's shiny exterior.

『Beautiful...』 (Jun)

『Hm?』 (Juno)

『Nothing. Let's continue searching for the other Yautja.』 (Jun)

As I said that, I felt some of my memories return but it wasn't something I needed right now so I tried to ignore it, but the fact I can recall movies and games more clearly helped with something I was currently confused with.

The Yautja's spear I claimed issued a prompt in my mind and a holographic screen appeared in front of me.

[Claim ownership of the Combistick (Uncommon, Modified)?]

[Y/N]

Jun gave a mental nod to accept ownership, and a second later another holographic window appeared reading its details.

[Combistick (Uncommon, Modified)]

[Level 24]

[Power: 200]

[Durability: 1,689/2,550]

[+85% Acid Resistance (Modified +15%)]

[Ability 1: The Combistick can retract into itself to become more compact, or extend itself to form a spear for battle.]

[Ability 2: Besides the owner, anyone else who holds the Combistick will trigger a mechanism in the weapon, stabbing the holder's hand with lethal razor-sharp spikes.]

After reading the information about the Combistick, I realized that this was indeed an item belonging to a game. Then that would mean we were inside a game...

I shook these complicated thoughts from my head and chose to ignore this reality and instead focused on the one in front of me.

Walking through the bushes, my sights were once again attracted to Juno's figure that gracefully strutted ahead. Her hips swaying side to side with that long slender body... I convinced myself that it was simple admiration. Despite the accelerated beating of my heart. It seems there is something important lost in our memories... That's something to worry about in the future when my... our memories start to return.

FL POV

I turned my head back around to face forward as I walked, albeit a little ungracefully due to the loss of my arm. I'm happy that I'm now in this form to hide the blush that should be there. My heart thumped louder when I recalled what Jun just said to me a few moments ago.

Why does my heart flutter from that simple word... I couldn't help focusing my attention mostly on Jun behind me, occasionally stumbling on loose tree roots, expertly regaining my composure before it could be noticed. Even though I don't remember my memories well, I do know I was a lawful citizen.

But, why do I find killing things so exciting and pleasurable? The sounds of bones crushing and flesh-tearing had felt uncomfortable at first, yes. But after today's events, it felt very good.

Was I always like this? Or is it the xenomorph blood, my blood, that's changing me?

Am I still who I was, or...

『Brother, who were we, really? When we were alive.』 I stopped, looking expectedly at his figure in the dark which was entirely visible thanks to his unique pale exterior.

『I... don't know. But what I do know, is that you're my cute little sister.』 he replied confidently.

I didn't respond but my mood clearly eased up a little as I smiled. But if someone else were to see it in this pitch-dark forest, they'd probably scream bloody mary and wish for another pair of legs to run away faster.

ML POV

I could see where she's getting at, I feel the same and I'm honestly still worried about it.

Would we eventually become cold killing machines like every other Xenomorph out there?

These worries will only plague our minds, so it's best to push them aside for now. And I did just that because we both stopped on the spot as something entered our senses.

『Juno!』 I shouted and pushed her aside. In the distance, a swooshing sound whistled through the air approaching us at a fast speed. The object opened up as wires wrapped around my body and anchored behind me on the tree. Several metal objects spun rapidly as the wires were tightened and restricted my body. The peaceful night was shattered by my pained cries.

Juno anxiously rushed to me and sliced at the metallic wires, freeing me, but there was no time to sigh in relief because a plasma ball was already approaching Juno from behind.

Boom!!!

A bright and loud explosion shattered the tree into splinters and threw us away. I shook myself and stood upright, easily surpassing the Yautjas height that was crouching on a tree branch 50 meters away. It tilted its head playfully and simulated a human laugh, mocking and taunting me.

Juno, who was pushed into the bushes, recovered from her burning wounds and quietly lay prone staring intently at the Yautja.

I didn't need to tell her what to do as she already took the initiative, creeping her way towards the Yautja but still keeping a safe distance from it waiting for me to create an opening. I let out a loud screech brandishing my claws and swinging my tail threateningly. The Yautja responded with another plasma blast to my face, more accurately my right shoulder. I avoided it and jumped to my left several meters away.

We repeated this action until I was already in an unfamiliar area. The Yautja shot another plasma blast which I dodged again cautiously, yet a danger sign alerted my mind and my tail wrapped around a tree trunk. Before my head was a grid of red lines, one of the many technologies of the Yautja; Proximity mines. This tactic was almost exactly the same as the first Yautja we fought.

Swish

A couple of meters ahead of me came a spear spiraling towards me which pierced through my shoulder and anchored my body into the cliff behind me. The owner of the spear that had pierced my shoulder walked out from the brush. When it entered the range of my tail, I attacked his head creating a swishing sound in the air.

Unfortunately, the Yautja simply leaned backward and stomped down on the tail that was aiming for its heart.

How do I always find myself in these situations... An unnecessary thought popped up.

The Yautja played a voice recording whilst brandishing its wrist blades.

'This is for my brother you ugly mother fucker!' however, its arm only twitched forward slightly. A thin neon line appeared on its shoulder and a gush of blood showered me. When the Yautjas' arm fell from its body, my sister's tail hung low leading up to the tree trunk to reveal its full figure.

Juno quickly followed up with a heavy blow to the back of the Yautja's head, cracking its skull and knocking it unconscious.

『Brother... You won't continue to be a target dummy, will you?』 Juno said playfully.

『.....I'll try to change my status as a target dummy』 I responded, sounding defeated.

She giggled at my words which annoyed me slightly, but she was right so I couldn't refute her, and I didn't want to make a lame excuse.

The next couple of chapters will be original, different from the first book, and will explain in a better way how the twins will travel worlds.

Thanks for reading.
