"Good Morning class. Since we had a very successful fund acquisition yesterday, we can now afford to let you people off knife making class. Congratulations, you can now learn from your other class."

To think they admit it this boldly. I heard rumours before that the school sell our knives as either bulk wholesale or as practice metals for smelting class depending on the quality. I knew it was weird that we pretty much have been doing smithing classes for a month and a few.

I have been curious on how they do the smelting class. I think some things are lost every time you forge out a metal and there are chances you may burn the metal rendering it unusable for forging, as far as I know. However, professional smelters can not only 'fix' the metal, 'separate' the metal and even recover the so called 'life' of the metal. I am assuming it's part of the skills of the job but every skill needs a certain type of action that you need to do and sometimes with the help of tools, so what do they need to accomplish those? If I could I should find a chance to learn that job so I could just buy waste products of other blacksmiths and use that for my works, save money earn more profit.

"And with all that done, starting today please assemble at the building behind the Government building. It's actually still a government building but security there is a lot looser since it's only used for lectures. In there you will learn history, and Holy magic. Good day, now get out and hurry along."

I get the feeling that he is glad to be done with us. He is actually happy not to be involved with us for the meantime. If you don't like students that much then why are you a teacher? To be a teacher in my previous world you need a lot of years and a class on how to handle people, I don't know the exact name but its basically a class to help you handle humans and how to nurture them. Even if it's the other world or rather especially if its another world, you need to have a certain fondness to nurture others since there aren't as much need for qualifications here. I doubt you need some kind of degree here to be qualified, I am sure the only qualification needed here is experience on the subject like past job or by showing an example of it.

This is going to be a problem when I am asking for reference to jobs and other blacksmith related stuff. I should change the plan then, rather than appealing as a talented student then I should jump start and appeal as a great colleague. The kind that could invoke a sense of camaraderie for our love of the craft and help improve our techniques, or someone who would be worthy to succeed his 'legacy' because he can see his 'inheritance' shining in glory if I am to inherit it. It will be a great contrast to my current character so I want to avoid it if possible. I'll think about it as a last resort, for now I will see what how the other teachers operate before coming to a conclusion.

History is as boring as always. It also doesn't help that we are right above the records room so we have to be quiet, which is also why the teacher is practically whispering. The lesson is mostly about the time before the changes made of the hero, which I would assume to be outdated. I imagine most heroes changed this world according to their whims so it would suit them more, like how hamburger is a thing in the human world and how there are excellent plumbing here in the dwarf continent.

"Hey victor, wake up. Class is done, let's get out of here before they ask us to help them clean the place."
"Do they actually ask students to help with the cleaning? Is that true chatterbox?"
"Yes they do. I heard it from the other class, the people cleaning when we got here were acquaintance of mine. They told me they got left behind here since yesterday's class."
"Hmm? we just had the auction yesterday so how come they already have classes here? I thought they finally allowed this class since we had the funds now."
"Oh, they enrolled in the general class. There are two parts of classes here in the academy. One is the general class where they only teach you basic knowledge, like history, calculations and etiquette for all races. The other is what we have were we specialize in a trade, most of us in the specialist group stay in the continent so we don't get charged with money while those in the general class needs to pay to be enrolled. After graduating they often travels to the center island to trade and interact with other races so they are more liable to be spies or make our knowledge be leaked. This is why they are not only charged if they enroll at this group but the price is expensive too. They are basically trained to be diplomats if they meet the council's standard or live on as merchants if they can't. I knew some of them during my time as an apprentice merchant."
"So they are basically rich kids who pay ridiculous amounts of money but slack of in class. I say they deserve the punishment. You hear that victor? Wake up or you might also spend the night here."
"Uh,...ah..? Is the class done?"
"Yeah, let's go drink."
"I still can't accompany you guys. I have something to do after this."
"Again? Is it a girl? Did you get infatuated by a lady of the night like chatterbox?"
"I am no longer infatuated. That was a mistake of my youth. I grew up and matured from my past. I am much wiser now."
"Don't pretend like some kind of veteran warrior who got scarred because of an accident in a battlefield. That so called past was only recent. You haven't grown in any way, you still kept the handkerchief of that harlot and we sometimes see you smell it from time to time."
"Brill is right, you hide every time after lunch to take a whiff of that dirty rag behind the washroom."
"S-Shut up!! That was a memento of my victory from escaping from that witch's charming grasp."
"Fine, fine, fine, keep glorifying it. How about this, I'll hang out with you guys for a while and you throw that worn out fabric away?"
"That's a good idea. We can hang out and chatterbox can finally 'mature' from that failed love."
"Eh?..........fine. However, you have to treat me."
"We are the one's doing you a favour so why do we need to treat you?"
"We'll discuss this later at the bar. For now we need to leave this place or we really will be forced to clean this place all night. Only a few people are left and the teacher is almost leaving."

"haaah, farewell forever."
"Excuse me!! Can we have another mug of beer here, one idiot is still insane and needs to forget."
"Leave me alone victors, can't you see a man grieving."
"I see a boy whining about his heartbreak. Move on, she never really liked you. She just wants your money. Drink and forget all about it."
"You two went and drunk yesterday too right? Did the two of you not talk about this then?"
"No, we talked about it but every time he has some shit about mature and whatnot as an excuse. I just kept ordering beer at that point and forcing it down his throat so he would shut up. I figured this time I would start with the beer so he can shut up faster."
"I'm not a boy! I'm a full blown man. I can drink all I want when I want!"
"Good job victor, looks like the beer is already in effect."
"I'm not drunk! I'm a man."
"Tell that when you have a beard."
"I'm the smartest among the three of us. I have the greatest beard!"
"He is too drunk. How does smarts equal beard. Also I thought being smart was my role in our group?"
"I don't think he is that drunk yet brill. Also that beard thing was a saying back before the hero was known. They said that a dwarf matures only when they grow a beard and they only way to grow a great beard is to have more knowledge. The beard is the symbol of the knowledge, wisdom and experience of a dwarf, the greater the beard the greater those things are."
"Heeh, so we had that kind of folk tale. How about for the ladies?"
"For ladies, its the hair. To think you also forgot about that. Male dwarfs grow beards but they have a tough time growing head hair. Female dwarfs can't grow beards but grow great head hair. Excuse me!! A couple of beers here please."

This place had a somewhat strong folklore to make children better themselves and learn by baiting them with glorious beards and hair before the hero messed things up, huh.

"Here drink up chatterbox. Drink up too brill, we are here to have fun not listen to a lovesick idiots failed romance"
"I'm not romance!!"
"Excuse me, can I have a bottle and some meat meal to take home. Sorry but I need to go soon."
"So soon? I just had chatterbox drunk. Is it really a girl?"
"No, I have to test the things I got from the auction house. I tried yesterday but to be careful I am taking it slow."
"Ah, the ring and bracelet things you got. Did you contact an enchanter or something to appraise the effects?"
"No, I don't know someone and even if I did ask someone, I don't have enough budget for it. Those things are cheap stuff with ambiguous effect so I don't want to waste too much money on it."
"I see, as cheap as always."
"I'm drunk!!"

Checking the things I got is the main reason I want to go home but dealing with a drunk person would certainly add to my reason to escape here as soon as possible.

5 hours, 23 minutes and 39 seconds was the standard length of me doing continuous wind magic. This is my main capacity plus my mana regeneration without the ring. That hh/mm/ss is a long one and it would need to be converted later so I might as well convert it now.

Let's see 1 hour 60 minutes 60 seconds so it should be...............19,419 seconds in total. I am tempted to round it up very much but I need to be accurate in this calculation.

[Breeze]

I need to wait for a long time again. However, compared to the last time I brought drinks and food with me. Wait, would eating something help in replenishing my mana? I think it might, plan fail. I need to recreate the same condition yesterday so I can get an accurate data on the mana recovery ring.

Finally done, That took more time than I thought.

8 hours, 05 minutes and 53 seconds in total which can be converted to 29,153 seconds, bringing my increase percentage to around 50%. I might have lucked out with this thing, or my mana might have expanded more than I thought. I'm not sure if this really is a result of a ring or my hero power finally snowballing, either way I guess this ring won't be a demerit.

It took me all night so I guess I'm off to class. No sleep for the hard worker. I'll try out the other things later.
