With this exclamation, a boy from class is professing his love for me.

"While I am flattered, I cannot accept," I replied after a moment's hesitation. 

"N-no way..." falling to his knees, the boy looked reminiscent of a puppet with its strings cut.

"I'm sorry."

With a brief apology and bow, I turn around and quickly hurry back to class.

After the girl was out of sight, the boy managed to snap out of it. Remembering his failure, he was filled with regret but chose to move on.

Dusting off his uniform, the boy got up and began to jog back to class right before lunch was about to end.
