A visible change starts in Alice’s body. A demonic aura surrounds her but in reality is escaping her body. The demon screams in pain and it echoes through the estate. Her wings, tail, and claws retract and turn into normal human appendages.

Then a shadow jumps out of Alice’s body. The demon Envie was successfully extracted.

Demon 「 What is this?! How! My possession, it’s …! 」

Becca 「 I gave Alice the skill Demonic Possess Full Resistance. Now you can’t possess her anymore. It’s probably not as good as a title, but it seems to work. 」

Demon 「 I’ve never heard of a skill like that! What tricks are you using? 」

Becca 「 Trade secret. 」

Skill Transfer was able to successfully move around one of my skills so that Alice could gain a demonic resistance skill. Now that she has that the demon was expelled with ease. Skill transfer leaves me with a copy so I won’t be possessed too. And just in case let’s leave that skill on Mirenda as well.

That means that all the people present here cannot be possessed. With that annoyance gone, it means I’m free to pummel the demon as much as I want.

Sensing my eagerness and realizing the bad situation, the demon flies away crashing through the roof. She’s run away, but did she forget I can warp to chase after her? I use wind magic to fly in the air and warp outside just behind her.

She desperately tries to fly away but I can keep up with her calmly. I can guess what she might be trying to do so I use Skill Transfer’s second function, Steal. The scary thing about skill transfer is that I can take and give as freely as I want, regardless of consent or distance. I take all her skills so she can’t use them on others anymore.

Without the Flight skill, she starts falling and has to flap her wings just to slow her descent. The fear inspiring demon looks like no more than a chicken in my eyes. She and I land on the ground on the outskirts of the city.

Demon 「 My powers … what did you do to them?! 」

Becca 「 Took them. 」

Demon 「 That’s absurd! 」

Becca 「 So what? That’s what heroes are, lady. 」

Envie swallows the bitter truth but then changes her lips into a smirk.

Demon 「 Thank you for obediently following me here, oh hero. Now witness the fruits of my labor. 」

That’s when I notice that the area we landed in is a graveyard. Reminds me of what I heard from Alice earlier, some kind of rumor about a little girl sighted near the cemetery. Maybe that’s what this is about.

Demon 「 Rise my followers! After a thousand years of slumber, your master commands you. Destroy the hero! 」

Monstrous skeletons and rotting corpses of all kinds of people stir and rise beneath the graves.

Demon 「 You thought my charm only worked on the living? Well you’re wrong! I already charmed these skeletons days ago so even without my charm I can command them. Go my undead warriors, lay siege to the town. Can you stop the onslaught of hundreds of loyal servants? Struggle in vain hero! 」

This is her big plan? Kind of a disappointing climax.

Becca 「 You remember I can just use purification right? Not that I need to. So is that the last of your plans? Don’t tell me you only managed to get this far? 」

Demon 「 I still have the Sisters of Danirass! I’ve been sending them to get impregnated so that a demon ritual can be performed on them. You may have won today, but you won’t catch me. And when I’m back in a couple of years, I’ll have an army of demon spawn following me. 」

Becca 「 Those pedophiles were doing that because of you? Does this ritual need young boys or is that your hobby? 」

I feel mana circulate to my eyes as I project the charm magic I stole from the demon. The skeletons halt in their movements mesmerized by my eyes.

The skeletons charmed by my magic obey my command overriding the demon’s order. They scramble back into the holes in the ground which I cover up using earth magic lifting the soil.

Becca 「 Well I stopped your loyal servants. We done yet? 」

The demon trembles and averts my gaze.

Demon 「 Don’t … Look down on me … no, don’t look at all. Must resist … I will not be … charmed …! 」

Becca 「 Charmed? 」

The demon looks at me and loses her expression for a dumbfounded one. Her cheeks redden. Don’t tell me …

Becca 「 Oh no. I forgot to turn off the Charm magic. 」

I mean considering that Boost X2 is making my magic stat exceed her Will stat, it’s possible for my charm to penetrate her mental defenses. But that’s crazy. Right?

Demon 「 ... 」

Becca 「 ... 」
