Author's Note: Quick release. Just gonna release the rest while I'm writing the next chapter but not all at once so it doesn't overlap.

Becca So how far is the capital Verbeau from here?

It’s been a few nights since we set out from Realight City for the Keeper’s Guild Headquarters. The capital will be the place to look for quests to do and evil to punish.

The last quest didn’t have much of a reward, only 2 party members plus one baggage. I’m looking forward to the next quest.

Envie Ms. Thorn, Verbeau is about a month’s distance from Realight. Realistically we’ll arrive in a month and a half, stopping by at least 5 towns along the way.

Envie is in a maid outfit that I bought from Realight for a couple of silvers. She also has the bearing and dignified look of one. It was a suggestion I made about how if she wants to serve me she should do so like a maid. Because of that, it seems she used the Almanac skill to study up on maid etiquette. It’s definitely an improvement.

She’s also under the effect of Transformation magic I used to change her appearance to a humans. While at it, I also made her form more grown up for convenience. She resembles an older Alice but with neatly combed pink hair.

Becca When do we get to the first stop?

Envie The town near the Silver Ravine doesn’t have a designation according to official records, but word of mouth makes it known as Frosthill. It is under the watch of the local lord Gosler.

Becca Anything of note about Frosthill or lord Gosler?

Envie Unfortunately I have no such records beyond the names.

Cheshyr I once heard from a traveling merchant that Frosthill has a beautiful view of the ocean past the mountains.

Becca Maybe we can check it out if we feel like it.

Alice What’s the ocean big sister?

Cheshyr The ocean is a giant bed of salty water that houses unknown terrors like the Kraken.

If it’s unknown then how does anyone know about it?

Alice I want to see the Kraken! Is it tasty? Tastier than ramen or chips?

Seems Alice is being corrupted by my world’s snacks. Well nothing I can do about it. Cheshyr is giving me that look because she worries for her sister’s sense of taste. I can’t help wanting to spoil her when she gives me those big teary eyes.

I casually toss Alice a piece of hard candy I got from a cheap store. Her eyes light up like a squirrels. Yep, I don’t think I can stop at this point.

Envie It is getting late Ms. Thorn. I suggest we set up camp for the night.

Cheshyr True. We made decent travel today, as much as it’s feasible for a little girl like Alice actually. We shouldn’t push it.

Becca All right then. Let’s set up camp here.

In a few minutes two tents are erected by the roadside with a cozy campfire between. At least, that is the illusion that I’ve put up. In reality there is nothing there but a door.

It’s an improved version of the Teleport magic I designed called Gate. As long as its a destination I’ve visited before, I can set up a doorway that bridges that location to wherever I place the door.

This door is labeled Earth. If anyone sees it it just looks like a normal wood door standing upright in an open field. There’s nothing behind it but on grasping the doorknob and opening it a magical doorway portal appears.

I led my party through the door to Earth where the danger of monsters is nigh. The sisters jump into the bath while Envie starts cooking up dinner. The three have surprisingly gotten used to life on Earth. I still haven’t let them go outside though.

I rented out an apartment building with money that I can’t in good conscience say where it came from. Let’s just say I won it in a gambling den with some magic up my sleeve.

With a good source of income, I can afford to live lavishly on Earth while adventuring across Arcoul. Rather than hide this I decided to trust in my party and show them the gate.

Their reactions on seeing the Gate were: Alice – excitement, Cheshyr – befuddlement, Envie – admiration. Two of them accepted what I could do while Cheshyr could only sigh and follow on.

At first the different world’s technological difference scared them but eventually they began to find wonder and convenience in it. While I was at it I created and copied an Earth Translation Skill to the girls so they could comprehend and speak to people anywhere on Earth.

The three settled into habits right away. Alice became glued to the television cartoons aimed at little girls and boys, Cheshyr to the manga and comics, and Envie to the library of the internet.

Once we settle in for the night we’ll go to sleep on our comfy beds safe from the outdoors. The next day I’ll open the Gate for us to go back and then remove the illusion.

And so like that, another peaceful day of travel concludes.

Becca Who wants to watch a movie? I ask when the sisters return from their shower dressed in pajamas.
