Thoughts, "Dialogue", Vvpjlz

-Thursday-

Cecil Pov

I sometimes wonder if somethings in life are inevitable, not counting things like dying. Like having a midlife crisis or wanting to settle down and start a family. Well, maybe I'm exaggerating about the current situation, as I doubt that what I'm facing right now is at the same level of reconsidering my life choices.

At first, I thought that I might be able to think of a plan to avoid all this hidden world stuff, but as I thought about it I come to realize 3 very important problems.

First, I severely lack the information I need to make any concrete plans.

Second I have very few methods to obtain the information I need. All I have is what Kiriana tells me, and the occasional bits of information I overhear when Sofia and Alex converse near me (Kiriana told me their names the same day she found out).

Third, I have very little methods to stay hidden from Sofia, Alex or anyone else that might be looking for me just because I'm one of Iris's chosen. I'm not 100% sure what it means to be one of Iris's chosen or being a chosen in general, but what I do know they are an important resource for the people in the hidden world.

So they will be using everything they have to find them. While the only thing I can do is keep my head, and try to not stand out. The problem with that approach is that it won't work for that much longer. Either Sofia and Alex eventually get tried with the slow approach and do something drastic to find me. Or someone else inters the picture and forces them to use drastic measures. Either way, I'm running on limited time.

-Sigh- I couldn't help but sigh when I think about all this. What can I even do? No matter how I look at it, what I'm facing is an impossible battle. A battle where all I can do is watch as I get swallowed up by the hidden world.

"Hey, are you ok?"

I was too immersed in my thoughts that I wasn't able to notice Jacob poking my side, trying to gather my attention. It's lunchtime right now, and we are at our usual place at the school's roof area.

"Yea I'm ok, why you ask?" (Cecil)

"Well, it's just that for the last 5 minutes you weren't responding to anything we were saying." (Jacob)

"Oh, don't worry I'm just been getting less sleep than I'm used to lately." (Cecil)

"For YOU to feel like you're having a lack of sleep, you must be getting only an hour of sleep a night then." (Josh)

"Come one you're exaggerating, I don't get that little sleep." I couldn't help but complain at Josh's blatant insult to my sleeping habit, he knows that I get plenty of sleep.

 "Yeah if you say so."

I wish that Josh could at least try to hide that mocking tone he was using. I could tell that he doesn't believe me, but he could at least try to hide it even a little bit.

"Ok, ok let's get back to what we were saying earlier." (Jacob)

"What were we talking about before?" (Cecil)

"What you weren't paying attention this whole time?"(Josh)

"I guess?" (Cecil)

-Sigh- "It's fine, we were just asking if  you still planning to attend the local arcade tournament with us?" (Jacob)

"Which game is the tournament about again?" (Cecil)

"The classic Dimensional fighters." (Jacob)

"Oh, that seems interesting, when is it?" (Cecil)

"This Sunday, at noon." (Jacob)

"Yea I should be able to make it." (Cecil)

"Great, then let's all try our best to win the 500$ prize!" (Josh)

We spent the rest of the lunch period talking about strategies and other varieties of other topics too.

When I got home I noticed a note on the kitchen table, it says the following.

-Dear Cecil,

This note is just to remind you that we are at an event at our workplace to celebrate its 59th year since its opening. So we won't home by the time you get home, and we will also won't get home until late at night. So please prepare dinner for yourself, and just because we aren't at home doesn't mean you can skip dinner and sleep later than usual.

P.S are you enjoying the romance novels I gave you a couple of days ago?

From your loving Mom-

"Huh, I completely forgot that they had to do something today. But why would she ask about the novels she gave me? In fact, why did she gave me them in the first place? Well, that doesn't matter right now, what matters is that I have to prepare dinner myself."

I decided that the easiest thing to cook was a cup of noddles. I started to heat some water as I search the cupboards for some cup noddles. After grabbing the beef flavour cup noddles I waited a bit for the water to heat up. When it finished heating up and I finished preparing the noddles I set it on the kitchen table and just sat there waiting for it to cool a bit.

I started to dig into it when it was cool enough to eat. As I ate I started to feel like I was forgetting something, but I wasn't sure what it is.

"Did I forget to do my homework? No, I didn't start doing yet. The stove," I took a glance at it, "No that isn't it either. Then what can it be then?"

My thought was interrupted by the sound of the doorbell. As I stood up to see who it was, I walked to the door thinking that it could have been my parents coming home earlier than they thought they would.

When I opened the door I was greeted with the sight of a blond woman and brown hair guy wearing black suits. It was at that moment that I remembered what I forgot, it was these two.

"Hello Cecil, I'm Sofia and this man beside me is Alex," Sofia said with a warm smile.

Sofia Pov

-A couple of minutes before-

The morning after Claire informed us of a potential person who might be "Blue", we waited in front of the address she gave us and waited to see if they are "Blue" or not. Of course, knowing that they will be able to see us even with misdirect on. We made sure to hide where we can be 100% sure that they won't be able to see us.

Three people let the house, we can immediately cross out the man and women as they were too old to be "Blue". I doubt that there would be such an age gap between Iris's chosens.

During our time investigating the teenage boy, we gathered quite a bit of information about him, like that his name is Cecil. Also after we looked at the information we gathered beforehand, we found that we had quite a bit of information about him.

Two things made him quite known at his school. The first is that he usually ranks in the top 5 in his grades, and the second is that he is quite known for his love of reading.

The reason for this can be easily seen during our time spying on him. When we spied on him we noticed that he spends all his free time reading if he isn't hanging out with his friends. We were also shocked to see the number of books that he can read in such a short amount of time.

During our time spying on him, we concluded that there is a high chance that he is "Blue". The main reason why we concluded this is that even though it's very subtle he does react to our presence. This can be seen by him flinching very slightly if we suddenly walk in front of him, or him taking small detours if he sees one of us. Though I do have to applaud him on how well he does hide these things.

So here we are in front of his house, getting ready for our conformation.

"Are you ready?" I questioned.

"Yes, I'm ready," Alex replied as he fixed his tie.

I ringed the doorbell, as I thought of possible things I can say to convince him to join us. We didn't have to wait long as the door opened revealing a teen wearing a green shirt and a simple pair of red shorts. His mess black hair partially covers his blue eyes which have very deep bags under them. After I confirmed that his eyes are indeed blue I put on my best smile and said.

"Hello Cecil, I'm Sofia and this man beside me is Alex."

I was taken aback soon after when I saw the expression he had. I was so shocked that I had abbot of trouble making sure it didn't show on my face. The expression that he had wasn't shocked, nervousness or anything that I suspect someone in his situation should have. The only way I can describe what he looks like was extremely tired.

Does my writing seem to be improving? Or is it hard to notice any improvement? Is my writing even is improving or is it getting worse? These are some thoughts I had as I started to write this chapter, so I can't help but ask. Is my writing getter better? Please tell me in the comments below or vote in the pole. Thank you in advance. :)

P.s I would also like to know what you guys think of the story so far. I have many ideas on chapters that I can't wait to write.
