The following story demands some context, so let me provide it to you. It started in 2017 on a website called CHYOA. As you might guess from the name, it focuses on branching, Choose Your Own Adventure type stories - with a universally lewd twist.
There, a fellow author called Despaxas, started a story called The Gamer, CHYOA edition. It was inspired by a manwha that was fairly popular at the time. Very little of the original premise survived, but still that was the inspiration. Much as we have grown to view that original work as terrible in quality.
Talking about terrible in quality, my writing back in those days was quite subpar. Nevertheless, I started writing a branch on this story. This branch was and, at the time of me writing this foreword, still is my primary project. It has grown tremendously over the past six years, reaching a length of over 3 million words through near-daily releases, and will likely double in length before I am finally done with it.
As I wrote and write it, my skill improved and improves. Where it starts, it is terrible. I will not subject you to this terribleness and have therefore deigned to rewrite the first 326 chapters to closer match my modern standards. They will not quite be there, only so much I can do with the basis of my past awfulness, but it should be readable at least. Please, do judge at your own discretion.
The story is a single continuous one. Other branches of the premise were written by other authors. Whether they make it here or not, I do not know. If they do, expect me to advertise them here. We have done a lot together, or next to each other, and it would be amiss of me not to respect the community built together.
Why do I post the story here? Well, primarily for the reach. This story was also what created the opportunity to become a full time writer through its popularity. I don’t know if I can catch lightning in a bottle twice. Regardless, if I want to live off writing alone, I will need to advertise and there is no better advertisement for my body of work than my body of work.
So I hope you enjoy. I hope this story will entertain you, in its ups and downs, and that you will find that this rabbit hole is to your liking. Maybe, when you hit the current chapters, you will even find it appropriate to send me some contributions. This story expands by an average of 50’000 words a month, so I will say that, if you like reading this, it's money well invested.
But first, you should sample the product.

New reader on your story here just about to start and wanted to post that I absolutely love what you wrote here. Too many people post stories that they obviously care about all the time but let them sadly die due to neglect. I never expect perfection from authors on sites like this but having enough respect for your own story to go back and improve or simply even edit it is the mark of a good writer.
Thanks for posting it here as much as i love chyoa its a bother reading from the same branch of an author sometimes without eveb realising it i was reading another branch and it got too confusing and i stopped reading this amazing story i loved it even back then lets see how much you have improved
I just wanted to ask.. Is this story going to be completely on SH? Or do I have to go to the other site at some point?
This story will eventually be entirely here on SH. It'll take time to complete the rewrites/I don't want to dump 1000+ chapters in a week even after those are done. Until the chapters reach parity, you can always read on CHYOA. My Patreon is strictly for getting chapters earlier (and so you can assure I can eat and keep writing).
I am a huge huge fan of drip fed and recommend it in the https://www.reddit.com/r/haremfantasynovels/ community along with Godforsaken so I am willing to give this a try.
This story has a lot in common with Drip-Fed (unsurprisingly, I am the author). Key differences here are probably that the protag gets WAY more powerful and that the harem gets pretty enormous... basically, imagine Drip-Fed without the brakes.

Wow, and I was wondering where this story went. I had no idea the thread I read so long ago was here. Well, here is to rereading it all again.
Are you just editing Grammer, spelling and such or are you editing the actual content of those early chapters as well? I ask because I remember starting this story a year or two ago, but I ended up dropping it.
What made me drop it was a combination of the suddenly dark tone the story ended taking out of nowhere followed directly by the update the system went through that felt like it undid a lot of the protagonists progress, completely wasting his effort.
Anyway, I'm debating about continuing where I left off since some of the other work you've released has given me more confidence in you as a writer, but if the content of the early chapters has been changed it might be better to start over instead.
The content has been overhauled, is how I would put it. It remains fundamentally the same but has been polished and some kinks ironed out.
The dark tone you are addressing is something I do in all my stories, I would say. Just life having its ups and downs.
@Funatic So, if I understand correctly if I started where I left off last time I'd likely be able to continue without getting confused, but if I started over I'd likely enjoy the content more this time around.
I actually don't mind a dark tone, but I remember the abrupt tone shift being jarring the first time I read it and I didn't really like the narrative whiplash i experienced. For example, I never minded the darker moments of Drip-fed because there were hints of it from the beginning.
