The process regarding me and El’s adoption into the Selesia family ended up only taking a week, which according to Firana-oneesama would normally take a month or two at the very least.

As expected of the king’s influence.

A debut party would normally be done soon after but.....

“To think I actually forgot about the yearly expedition.....”

It was a very rare case of Firana-oneesama sulking on the bed, hugging me in the process.

She already prepared everything for the debut party and scheduled it next week, but it conflicted with the yearly school expedition.

Every year the school organized an expedition for all the students, its basically like an outing or camping trip on earth.

It’ll be held for 3 days and 2 nights.

The first year will be going on a forest expedition, the second year will be on a dungeon expedition, and for the third year its more like a vacation.

The purpose of this expedition was to give the students some combat and basic survival experience.

It’s also supposed to be a way to close out the gap between the noble class and commoner class, but that rarely ever happened.

The best case scenario would normally be that the commoner paired with the noble would be recruited as a vassal, at worst they’ll just end up hating each other even more.

Of course there are exceptions but from what I heard, that’s generally how it went.

The group was also random, which was quite a concern.

I hope I ended up with Lia, she’s really the only one I’m close with in my class.

Ahhh, there’s also the chance that I’ll be paired with Ru.

It would be a lie if I were to say I’m not looking forward to this.

Still, how long would Firana-oneesama be like this.....

In the end, it took 1 hour for Firana-oneesama to finally stop sulking, and it was only because El notified me that she’ll be coming soon.

I guess she still wanted to keep appearance in front of El.

Still, that made me a bit happy, for her to trust me enough to show this side of her.

“What are you grinning about?”

“No, nothing.”

She would definitely scold me if I were to express it out loud though so I kept the thought to myself.

Not long after El sent her message, she teleported into the room.

Of course, the bear plushie quickly latched on to her.

El immediately seated herself on my lap like usual.

She was still in her maid uniform, so she probably just finished her work.

“How was your day El?”

“Tiring. El is getting busy.”

“Ohhh?”

“Ahhh, come to think of it, I have heard that the 2nd princess will be going to the neighboring kingdom soon.”

Firana-oneesama added on.

“Un, El will also be going with Asa-hime as her maid and guard.”

I see, she’ll be going to a neighboring kingdom with Asa.

I couldn’t help but get worried about letting her go alone.

The 2nd princess definitely won’t be travelling alone with Asa and will be accompanied by the knights, and its not as if I don’t trust the knights but there’s no way I wouldn’t get worried.

“Misa, you are being really obvious right now.”

“Nee, not to worry. Cure-neechan is also going.”

Come to think of it, I forgot Cure was the commander of the 2nd knight order.

I should send a message to her later.

Still, its not like Cure can always be around El, so maybe I should also ask Rosa to keep watch of El?

“Misa, that is enough.”

Firana-oneesama lightly chopped my head.

“I know you are worried about your little sister but you should trust her more.”

“Un, El will be fine.”

“Y-Yes.....”

Isn’t it natural for me to be worried?

“Besides, you should worry about your own expedition.”

“If its that then I am not really worried.”

“I do wonder where that confidence.....Ahhh, I guess that makes sense. Even so, do not be careless. Moreover if the nobles you are grouped up with start to cause trouble, feel free to use the Selesia name to put them in their place.”

“Ehhh, would that really be fine?”

After all, I haven’t had my debut yet.

“It is quite alright. As I have mentioned before, you are already officially part of the Selesia family. The date of when you and El were officially listed as part of the Selesia family had been recorded after all so there would be no issue even if you show your authority before your debut. Of course, ideally there would be no need for you to do so but consider it a precaution.”

“Yes.”

Already a part of the Selesia family, huh?

It still felt quite surreal, even more so considering I hadn’t even meet anyone in the Selesia family apart from Firana-oneesama.

‘Is Firana-oneesama’s family really fine with this’ was the only thought that could come across my mind.

 

 

“I will be announcing your group for the expedition next week.”

After our class was finished, Nosfane-sensei said so.

I knew it was too good to be true, and true enough I didn’t get paired with Lia.

There’s 3 people in each group, with the exception of 1 group having 4 people.

That exception was not me as my group only had 3 people.

At the very least, one of them was a familliar face.

With that said though, its not like I’m close with the said person but its better than nothing.

“For which commoner group will be paired with your group, you can look at the notice board later. That is all.”

Nosfane-sensei left the room right after.

Before I got the chance to look around for my group, one of them came to me.

“It seems like we will be together once again.”

“Yes, I am thankful that you are in my group. After all, I have barely interacted with the rest of the class so seeing a familliar face puts me a bit at ease.”

The person in question was Vora.

Its not like I’m close with him by any mean, I haven’t even talked to him after the last time we grouped up together.

Still, its better than having no one I know at all.

Of course I know everyone’s name but I’d never really interacted with them outside of that.

“The other person on our group is Dinzo Sefaros right? Are you close with him Vora?”

I asked while I looked around to see where he’s at.

Hmmmm, I’m pretty sure I remember how he looked but I can’t see him anywhere.

When I looked back at Vora, he had an unpleasant expression.

“I can’t say I know him well. If you’re looking for him though, I saw him leaving right after Nosfane-sensei exited the room.”

“I see. I guess we will have to discuss about the expedition with him some other day.”

“Yeah.....S-Speaking of the expedition, should we see and meet up the commoner group we’ll be paired with?”

“Sure, if you do not mind.”

We headed to one of the notice board near our classroom, which was surprisingly pretty empty.

“Do the other studednts not come here to check out their group?”

“Most of the nobles won’t be bothered to check anything regarding the commoners, especially the first year. There would be more groups who don’t know which commoner group they’re paired with on the actual day of the expedition.”

“How about you?”

“Me? I’m not really concerned with their social status. After all, there are some amazing commoners out there.”

He looked a bit nostalgic as he said that.

“Anyway, we should go to the commoner’s side. There’s no way a commoner would come to this side so if we want to meet who we’ll be paired up with, we’ll have to be the one going.”

With Vora leading the way, I followed him from behind.

It was quite obvious at which part of the school was the commoner’s side.

The atmosphere itself was too different compared to the neat, tidy, and overly decorated noble’s side.

That’s not to say that the commoner side was dirty though.

As we walked by, curious gazes were laid upon us.

“Wahhhh, the nobles are coming to this side?”

“Did someone offend one of the nobles?”

“That girl looks so cute.....”

Various whispers all around us, though they were loud enough for us to hear.

I went closer to Vora so I could whisper to him.

“Do you know the people we’ll be grouped up with?”

“No. I was planning to ask one of the students here but everyone’s keeping a safe distance from us and its kinda hard to call out to them.”

Hmmm, what to do.....

“Ahhh, Misa!”

Thankfully it didn’t take long for help to arrive.

“Ru! Long time no see.”

“Yup. Geez, you should come visit me more often. I want to visit you but everyone’s telling me I can’t go to the noble side.”

“Sorry.”

“No no, its fine. I know you don’t mean anything bad by it anyway.”

Ru came to the rescue.

Vora looked quite surprised at how close we were, as did everyone who were watching us.

“Ahhh Vora, let me introduce you. This is Rurune, a friend of mine from my world who also came here for the exchange program. Ru, this is Vora, one of the person I will be with for the expedition.”

“Rurune, Feel free to just call me Ru. Nice to meet’cha!”

“Yes, likewise.”

Vora awkwardly accepted Ru’s energetic handshake.

“Still, Rurune. I do believe we are in one group.”

“Ehhh, really?”

“really!? Yay, I get to be with Misa!”

I was just as surprised as Ru.

No well, While I was looking around wondering about the lack of students around the notice board back there, Vora already finished reading and walked here so I didn’t end up reading.

Ru was acting normally so I thought we didn’t get in the same group.

“Didn’t you see the notice board Ru?”

“Ehehe, I kinda fell asleep in the middle of the class so I didn’t even know the group was announced already.”

“Geez, are you really doing fine here? You better not be falling behind.”

“The lesson was so boring, I couldn’t help but fall asleep. If it was a combat class then it would be a different story.”

“Apologies if I’m cutting your reunion short but can we meet the other 2 people who’ll also be in our group too?”

Oops, didn’t mean to leave Vora out of the conversation.

“Then, lets go to the notice board!”

“But I can just.....haaahhh, nevermind.”

Vora was probably about to say he could just tell her their name directly but Ru was already well on her way.

We quickly followed her.

After arriving at the notice board, it didn’t take long for Ru to found our name.

“Ahhhh, we’re with piyopiyo!”

“Who are you calling piyopiyo.”

A girl walked to Ru and give her a chop on the head.

“You two are the nobles grouping with us right? Hiyori, best regards.”

“I am Misa. I hope we can get along well.”

“Vora, nice to meet you.”

A cool and composed girl, was my first impression of her.

Her dark violet hair had a glossy luster to it and her amethyst eyes were quite captivating.

She’s more in line towards beautiful than cute.

“Hmmm? Is there something wrong?”

“N-No, nothing.”

Ahhh, I ended up staring at her for too long.

“Hehe, were you mesmerized by my piyopiyo? I was too when I first met her.”

“What’s ‘my piyopiyo’, I’m not yours! In the first place, stop calling me piyopiyo.”

Another chop to the head.

Even from a glance its pretty easy to tell that they’re quite close with each other.

I’m glad Ru was able to make a close friend.

No wait, what am I, her mother?

“Anyway, Mika was sick today so he’s not here. Ahhh, Mika’s the other member on our group by the way.”

“I see, that’s unfortunate.”

“How about the other one from your side? Dinzo Selfaros was it?”

“He.....also has some business to attend to.”

“.....I see. Well, we should already consider ourselves lucky that we can meet you two before the day of the expedition.”

Hiori looked like she came to an understanding from Vora’s response.

“Anyway, should we cut our meeting here?”

“Ehhhh? We should talk more and get to know each other!”

“The nobles tend to be busy, it can’t be helped if they have something to do.”

Vora didn’t seem to be too keen on the idea.

“Sorry but I’ll have to pass. Not to be rude but I rather not be hanging out alone with 3 girls.”

“Its fine, I understand.”

“Thank you.”

“How about you Misa?”

Hmmm, I don’t have anything planned with Firana-oneesama today so I guess I’m free.

“Sure, if you do not mind my company.”

“No problem. I’ve been curious about you anyway since Ru often told stories about you.”

“Then, I’ll leave here. Let us meet up again once that Mika fellow is healthy again.”

“Sure thing, you make sure you drag that Dinzo guy too then.”

“I’ll try my best.”

With that, Vora went back.

“Yay, I finally get to go out with Misa again! And piyopiyo too.”

“Don’t say it like I’m just an afterthought.”

Another chop.

“Then Misa, shall we go?”

“Yes.”

“Let us go!”

With Ru leading the way, we went out from the school area towards the town.
