The Lang clan didn't have anyone skilled in the elusive law of space nor did they have anyone strong enough to forcefully bend space, this meant that they could only rely on the inherent power within the spatial arrays to achieve the smooth teleportation that was the norm for the spatial arrays in the city. But part of the reason the arrays had such power was their size, shrinking them down would result in a decrease in power that grew more and more drastic as the array shrank. It was for this reason that the one-time use teleportation array that took Yin Long and the others to Mirror Lake Village was rougher and took longer than usual.

But the teleportation they engaged in now was far worse than even the worst teleportation Yin Long had ever engaged in. The array was much smaller than usual and it had to take them far longer than usual, to the very edge of the area controlled by the Lang clan. As such, the spatial tunnel that connected the one-time use array with the endpoint, a hidden array that remained from when the Lang clan still ruled three provinces, was so unstable that it was basically collapsing.

But it was only basically collapsing, it wasn't actually truly falling apart, there was no way Lang Ru would have handed them the scroll if she felt there was even a small chance of that happening. But even so, looking at the cracks that spread throughout the white light that surrounded his group, Yin Long couldn't help but frown, especially when pieces started to loosen.

He swept Lan Yun into a tight embrace from behind and used his leg to draw Jin Wang closer, forcing him to roll up as much as he could in front of Lan Yun's abdomen. Yin Long himself then leaned forward and curled up, resulting in Lan Yun's body also curling up as the group of three formed the smallest ball possible with Yin Long serving as the outer layer. And just as they finished their makeshift ball, the first small fragment broke off from the white light and revealed an empty black space filled with what looked like a winding aurora.

But Yin Long had no time to marvel at the enchanting sight of the seemingly endless aurora, the small fragment that broke off from the light shot through the area and passed over his exposed back. The small fragment, which took on the appearance of a small white crystal plate after it broke off from the light, passed through his robe and flesh without a problem, slicing a bloody gash into his back. Blood spurt forth straight away but was then immediately sucked into the opening left behind when the fragment broke off, vanishing into the aurora.

The fragment was sharper than any blade, the edge of it was easily able to cut apart even the minuscule space between molecules and atoms, only a defense filled with an equal amount of energy would be able to block an attack like this. But other than his parasitic soul, Yin Long was also born with an exceedingly high affinity for two elements, to the point where the elements were perfectly fused with his Qi and soul ever since he was born. And those elements were space and the sword, these were the two fangs of the dragon that was Yin Long.

Thanks to this inborn affinity his soul and body instinctively sucked in a small bit of the energy contained within the fragment of space, adding it to the yellow-silver ocean within his soulsea. As for his wound, his mind touched upon the apocalyptic cloud of Netherworld energy and drew out a small bit that he then channeled through his body and to his back, the wound swiftly wriggling and healing.

But that small fragment was only the first, more and more fragments breaking off from the spatial tunnel and ricocheting around within it for a bit before they fell into the black space with the aurora. And with more and more fragments ricocheting around, the number of cuts that Yin Long suffered only grew and forced him to draw out even more Netherworld energy to heal them. Each round of healing left that spot of his body a touch stronger, each circulation of the Netherworld energy allowed it to seep deeper and deeper into his body, melting into it and becoming one with it.

Yin Long also utilized this chance to inspect just how the shards of fragmented space cut through his body, doing his best to memorize how it easily slid through the tiny gaps between the particles that made up his body. The law of space approached the apex of all laws and was thus exceedingly rare, it was not easy to find a chance like this to study a bit of it and look at one of the many ways it could be utilized.

Yin Long for example only knew of two ways to use his law of space, one was his senses and the other was his way of phasing through objects, Bai Xiang hadn't taught him anything else. As such, he was unwilling to give up this chance to learn more about this grand law and how he might be able to use it to attack in tandem with his law of the sword.

He stopped bothering to count how much time passed within the spatial tunnel and instead started counting the number of times he was cut open. Or rather, the sharp pain that followed each cut couldn't help but make him acutely aware of just how many times shattered fragments of space passed over him. But accompanying each burst of sharp pain was a small trace of silver energy that sank into the ocean in his soulsea and caused its color to constantly grow deeper and more brilliant.

But the time he had to take advantage of this situation to study the law of space wasn't infinite, it came to an end as he was approaching the 500th cut. The spatial tunnel around them abruptly vanished, causing Yin Long and his still curled up body to tumble to the dusty ground along with Lan Yun and the others. The group of three that were still curled into an uneven ball rolled along the ground for a bit before Yin Long loosened his grip on Lan Yun, the ball falling apart as the three sprung up into standing positions. Yin Long looked at his own body after standing up, scratching the back of his head when he saw his current state.

"Well, that one certainly didn't last long."

His robe was so tattered that it was a miracle that the few remaining straps still clung to his body. Luckily his underwear was still intact so all he had to do was tear off the last few straps of his ruined robe and pull a new one out from his interspatial ring. Lan Yun and Jin Wang were unharmed since Yin Long served as the outer layer of the ball, Lan Yun not missing this chance to eye Yin Long while he was wiping away the blood on his body and changing.

Yin Long stretched his body once he finished changing into the fresh white robe, his entire body felt a bit stiff after having been battered and healed like that. He loosened up after a few stretches, but he could clearly sense that his body had grown a bit stronger after the ordeal. The human body was like raw iron, it had to be hammered and forged if it wanted to reach its full potential.

He gave Lan Yun and Jin Wang a quick look over to make sure that they were actually unharmed, just a cautionary measure to leave him at ease. After making sure that they were really unharmed, the group of three inspected the area around them, which looked like a large savannah covered in yellow grass that reached all the way up to their waists.

This was the border between the Deshi and the Lang clan, a small patch of wild and unclaimed land. In truth, neither clan did their best to acquire this patch of land, there simply wasn't any point in it. This land didn't contain any valuable resources or the like, the best it had to offer was the weaker Demonic beasts that would get attracted here due to the blood that had long seeped into the earth.

And there was quite a bit of blood that had seeped into this land, the Lang clan and the Deshi clan used this unclaimed land as an excuse to send out their armies and younger disciples, periodically engaging in battle as if they were truly fighting for this plot of land. Only in true life-and-death battles would a person's full potential be squeezed out, the weak would become fertilizer and the strong would grow stronger.

There was no battle going on currently, the Lang clan had after all gotten a new clan leader in the last few years, one that was likely going to get married fairly soon no less. They were far too busy celebrating to engage in the bloody training that had become customary on this savannah. Lan Yun skipped over to Yin Long's side as he pulled out a circular jade plate, she took up position behind him and leaned her chin on his shoulder, looking down at the jade plate.

"So, got any idea on where we should head first or are we just gonna pick a direction?"

Ignoring Jin Wang, it was just her and him for now, Lan Yun refused to miss this chance to use every weapon in her arsenal to seduce Yin Long, even acting cutely like this was fair game. Yin Long only rolled his eyes at her actions and sent some Qi into the green plate and activated the array within, lights gathering above it and forming a map that he could control with his thoughts. The map didn't portray the entire planet, the planet was far too large for the Lang clan to have a map of it even when they were at their peak. but the map still showed the eight surrounding provinces, Yin Long able to freely focus on each province and get a closer look at them.

The map was a bit old as it was last updated about 1000 years before his parents were born, but with how long cultivators could live it wasn't strange for things to remain unchanged for tens of thousands of years in some places. Yin Long had already started thinking about a few plans, focusing the map on a city located to the south of the Deshi clan's sphere of influence.

"Here, Bluelord City. Territory Lord Bluelord lives here so it has a spatial array that can be used to reach Sunsong Capital where Province Emperor Sunsong lives. From there we can take a spatial array to one of the other provinces, only when we've done so can we be certain that no news of us will reach the Lang clan. Luckily it's fairly simple to use the spatial arrays of our Sunsong province, we just have to pay the appropriate fee and they'll be free to use."

Yin Long didn't feel that just leaving the Bluelord Territory was enough, he wanted to go so far as to even leave the two other provinces that the Lang clan once controlled. He couldn't allow himself to remain for too long in any location where the Lang clan spies might learn of him, doing so would only increase the chance that news of him would reach them and end up harming his sisters.

Lan Yun had nothing to say against this idea, after all, just the idea of joining Yin Long on an extremely long journey filled her with excitement. Yin Long moved the map a little to determine the path to the nearest city or village that had a spatial array they could use, putting the jade plate away once he found a suitable candidate. He used his left hand to point in the direction of the nearest village, a large and heavy greatsword forming in his right hand.

"Bloodgrass Village is located about a week's march in that direction, we can use their spatial array to head to the Deshi clan's city. It'll be a bit of a trek, but I want to use this chance to spar with you a bit, using only our weapons of course, I can probably stand to learn quite a bit from how you use your weapon."

There was a lot that Yin Long could stand to learn now that he knew he could freely alter the size and shape of his sword. Just studying the sword technique left behind by the Lang clan founder wasn't enough, that technique only covered a single style of swordplay. He had to spar with as many people as possible, he had to study their weapons and learn from them, doing so would help him sharpen his sword to an unprecedented level.

The group started walking as Yin Long spoke, Lan Yun nodding her head with a smile as she took out her own weapon, a one and a half meter long two-headed axe. She hefted the heavy axe onto her delicate shoulders with ease, sending Yin Long a smile that was a mixture of a smirk and a grin.

"I might not be your match in a normal sparring match, but if it's going to be one where we just use our weapons then I'm pretty darn confident, especially with you having no experience with heavy weapons. But don't worry, I'll make sure you gently and patiently nurse you back to health if I beat you too hard."
