“Green hair, are you Lu Family Second Young Master?”

Hearing that question, Lu Wan felt his heart grow cold. Did he just encounter another enemy?

“Hey! Hand over the kid!”

“Yeah! Don’t stop us!”

The man looked at the group of people in front of him and waved his hand. Eon Energy from his hand immediately hit the group of people, sending them back without any capabilities to wake up again.

Lu Wan’s heart thumped wildly. There was no way an ordinary Eon Energy Master could possibly produce energy like that. The man in front of him must be someone who was already rank 3 or above. Facing this man, he would never be able to have any chance to get away.

“Green hair, you haven’t answered my question.”

“I’m Lu Wan, the second son in Lu Family,” Lu Wan decided to push the matter into the back of his mind. He answered truthfully and looked back at the man without any hint of fear in his eyes.

Seeing the child’s lack of fear, the man was intrigued. “It seems that you’re in quite a trouble.”

“I just plan to play with my sisters, but these men suddenly came to interrupt us,” Lu Wan defended himself. It was not like he purposely created trouble.

The man looked at the group of thugs. He turned to look at Lu Wan. “They purposely come for you. Do you tell anyone that you’re going here today?”

Lu Wan frowned. He did talk to some of the villagers that he was going to play with Lu Zhi, but he never told them the location of this place. The only one who knew that he would come here was Lu Zhi.

“That’s impossible…” there was no way Lu Zhi would scheme for his death. The two of them have been brothers and sisters, friends since a young age. He couldn’t believe that Lu Zhi would want to have him dead.

The man shook his head. “You shouldn’t trust other people so easily.”

“What do you know?”

“I just know that if you trust the wrong person, you’re betting with your life,” the man replied. He put Lu Wan down. “My name is Zhan Jing. If you’ve any interest in becoming my disciple, you can call me anytime.”

“Who would want to become the disciple of a stranger like you!”

“You’ll see, Lu Wan.”

Lu Wan frowned, but the man had disappeared from his sight. Recalling that the man’s power was unfathomable, he felt slightly glad that he was still alive. He didn’t understand why, but he felt that the man didn’t have any intention to harm him.

He returned back to the Blue Alley as he waited for Lu Zhi. However, no matter how long he waited, Lu Zhi didn’t come.

‘It’s almost the time for my evening lesson. If she still didn’t come, we won’t have any time to play,’ Lu Wan thought to himself. Even though he was just about to get killed, his mind has returned back to his original plan to play.

Just as he was about to leave the alley, he heard the sound of people talking.

“It’s true, I see Second Brother taunt the thugs. He looks so cool that it seems that he wants to show off.”

The familiar girl’s voice fell in his ear as Lu Wan’s body turned rigid. His eyes were locked on the entrance of the alley as he felt that it was incredulous. What did she say?

“I’m afraid that he won’t be able to hold on, so I call you all. You’re not going to be angry, right Father?”

Right now, no matter how much Lu Wan wanted to deny it, he knew that the one who arranged the group of men to attack him was surely Lu Zhi. The little sister whom he cared so much actually wished for his downfall. He felt that he was truly laughable. Trusting someone like Lu Zhi, he ended up getting stabbed on the back.

“He should be over he….re,” Lu Zhi paused for a moment when she saw Lu Wan stood quietly in his place. There was not even a trace of fight in his body as the boy only looked back quietly.

“You’re late, Lu Zhi,” Lu Wan said in an indifferent tone. “Didn’t you say that we’re going to play?”

“S-Second Brother?” Lu Zhi finally found her voice back, but her tone was filled with fear. For the first time in her life, she saw her brother glared back at her. It was different from the usual warm gaze that he gave her. However, she regained back her composure as she looked at her father.

“Father, I…”

PLAK!

Lu Changqing didn’t hesitate when he slapped his daughter’s face. Even though women prized their faces the most, he didn’t care about it in the slightest. “What is your plan for lying to me, Lu Zhi?”

“Father, I’m not, I…”

Lu Wan watched from the side as Lu Changqing walked to his direction and swung his hand.

PLAK!

“You have to study. Do not waste my time on anything unnecessary again. Remember that Lu Wan?”

“Yes, Father,” Lu Wan replied expressionlessly. Right now, he was trying his best to not think of anything. He didn’t even want to look at Lu Zhi because he knew that it wouldn’t do him anything good.

He returned back to the residence and finished his study before returning back to his own room.

“Zhan Jing, are you there?”

“You should have called me politer, Brat,” Zhan Jing appeared and flicked the boy’s forehead.

Lu Wan didn’t mind in the slightest as he looked at the man. “Have you already know about their scheme?”

“More or less. It’s too apparent.”

“Why are you helping me?”

“I’m searching for someone interesting to become my disciple,” Zhan Jing answered calmly. “You just caught my eyes.”

“Why do you want a disciple and what will it be for me if I become your disciple?”

“Let’s see, if you become powerful, you can help me out. As for you, I’ll give you a path where you can become a true powerful warrior and not just someone with a lot of Eon Energy in his disposal.”

Lu Wan looked at Zhan Jing. “How powerful?”

“Eon Energy Master rank 4 or 5.”

It was quite a far etched dream for him to reach that rank right now, but it was his goal. At that moment, Lu Wan decided that it would be better rather than staying in this residence where he was treated as nothing but a tool.

“I agree. Lu Wan greets Master.”

“In short, your own sister schemes for your death?” Ye Jiao was speechless. She didn’t expect that Lu Wan would have that complicated family.

Lu Wan nodded his head. “Thanks to her, I met with my master. However, I can never treat her the same as before anymore. For me, she’s someone who has betrayed me and lost my trust.”

Hearing his words, Ye Jiao understood very well that Lu Wan would never trust Lu Zhi anymore. If that happened to her, Ye Jiao knew that she might have reacted worse. After all, she rarely trusted anyone because she had seen too much.

“And she never truly let me off. I plan on leaving her alone on the account that we used to be friends, but if she continues, I’ll not hesitate to kill her,” for a moment, Lu Wan’s killing intent leaked out.

Ye Jiao didn’t say anything. She just continued the travel in a steady pace as they rushed through the forest.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to rant out. I just feel annoyed by her action.”

“There’s no need to be sorry. I don’t mind listening to them,” Ye Jiao replied. “Besides, it’s better to talk with one another in our long journey. We’re going to have a lot of time running here and there because of the missions.”

“Yeah, cold winter missions,” Lu Wan’s face darkened. As the temperature dropped, it would be harder for them to move around.

“In a way, it’s training.”

“Yeah, training…”

The two of them talked about many things as they sped up their pace to reach Bao Fu Organization headquarters.
