Ok, time to do this. Always I wouldn't say I liked lineups like this one.
“OK, now, we have a special guest with us, the winner of the math contest organized by us:
Hikari Torima, a brilliant student, Let’s hear her opinion or if she has something special to tell
us”- That’s why I hate them. Why is everyone telling me I am a model student, my grades don’t
mean anything, and there are smarter people than me in this world? These people should go out
more.
I took a step toward and moved my head from left to right.
“Sorry, I don’t have anything. Maybe you could have shut up about me. You are ruining the
whole mood for everyone here. No one cares, shut up!”- I don’t care if this person is an adult or
older than me, I consider these types of things foul to do. If you earn a place somewhere, there
shouldn’t be an idiot who screams at the top of their lungs that person x or y has earned a spot
here because of such and such.
“Hikari! Just what is up with you?”- Our teacher, Miss Amane, an average-sized woman with
blue eyes, and black hair, wearing her formal teacher attire, walked up to just yell at me.
“I don’t care if I am rude, I just want to enjoy my trip without all of this nonsense.”- All of my
classmates look back at me, some of them in disgust, while others in admiration.
“You should calm down sis.”- My little brother, Aoi, pulled the sleeve of my shirt, taking my
attention from the teachers to him.
“Look, Aoi, I will go for a little walk outside, I won’t be gone for long”- I stormed out of the resort
we were staying in, the teachers didn’t bother to send anyone after me.
This is how my behavior usually is around people, I just hate being around most of society in
general, always trying to prop someone up while bringing others down, I have classmates that
put more effort than I do into learning and are almost on the same level as me but they are still
considered average and I am a genius? I don’t know what to say to this, only that it’s unfair for
them and for the rest of the world.
The cold crisp air in the mountains is making me think my bones are freezing, I have always
sensitive to cold so it’s no wonder I am feeling like this, I have 2 jackets on me and it’s still too
cold for comfort.
Minutes pass and my pace is still the same, I left a lot of footsteps in the snow, and the weather
is clear and the sun can be seen without much of an issue.
After a few more minutes of walking, I arrived at a forest entrance, it seemed isolated from the
rest of the resort, I didn’t know if it was such a good idea to go in there, but I took my chances, I
needed to be here for at least 2 hours and then go back, I don’t want to hear my teachers
complain, well they will still complain because I ran out but I just don’t want to deal with them
now.
I've gone into the forest, and I don’t plan on going deeper, I need to find a place to stay for a bit,
they thought us to make a basic shelter but I can’t find anything to make one, this sucks.
“Stop! Forest service!”- I can hear a woman’s voice from behind, it sounded young, but I didn’t
pay it much attention, but I slowly turned. I saw a white-haired girl, she was tall and wearing the
typical forest range uniform.
“Sorry, I will go away”- I tried to move past her but she grabbed my shoulder tightly.
“I am looking for you miss. This is a forbidden area and you have run away from your group
before you could set out and now...”- The girl was interrupted by a loud crashing sound coming
from the trees.
“It’s here, fuck”- She muttered under her breath.
“What is happening?”- She covered my mouth with her hand
“Be quiet.”- She dragged me to a pile of bushes, and we hid there for about a minute, walking
down the path with thundering steps I saw a giant spider, I am not joking, this spider is giant and
it’s uprooting trees by merely stepping on them.
“I can’t fight and protect you at the same time. Come on Aiko, come on, you got to be near us”-
My eyes gaze upon the left hand, she dug her nails deep into her hand, blood oozing from the
wound, the blood rotated in a spiral shape and after just a few moments it turned into a pure
crystal of crimson color that took the shape of a Katana.
Just what the hell am I witnessing?
Looking back at the spider, my stomach turned, I wanted to throw up, the spider had a human
face with human skin stitched with silk.
“Don’t look, just close your eyes”- Suddenly a blizzard started, and out of nowhere a huge wave
of snow washed over the spider, and immobilized by the sheer force of it, it stopped walking.
From the snow, I can see a small, slender, child-like figure that is equipped with 2 fans.
When the figure came closer and was visible I could see that the fans were made out of the
same material as the girl’s katana.
While the spider is immobilized by the blizzard, the small girl throws her fans at its head, slicing
through and decapitating the beast.
“Come outside Meiko, there is nothing to be scared of”- She talked loudly near the bush where
we were hiding.
The girl turned to me, this time, her eyes were blood crimson and...
...
The next thing I knew, I woke up in the cabin with my brother near me, what happened? No, this
can’t be right, I remember I stormed out by myself and saw something, but what did I see?
“You should have known better than to out on your own”- I can see a very familiar face, a black-
haired girl with red eyes, wait, no, that’s not it. I can’t remember anything.
“Sorry. Aoi, please, forgive me”- I looked at him. He showed no emotion or sign of sadness.
“I am glad you are back. Everyone was worried about you, we found a ranger named Meiko
near the resort so we tasked her with tracking you down, she is that black-haired lady.
Wait, I remember that name, Meiko. It’s like I met her before but she looks different, a lot more
other than she is now.
Just what the hell is happening?
