“Never forget, that I will always be here for you!”- Who said that? I can remember that face, the brown hair, his brown eyes and his sophisticated day-to-day wear.

“Lucas!”- A voice spoke, was it mine? Where am I? Who am I anyway?

I am alive? I can look around, I can smell, I can touch and I can hear, but looking down at my hands, they keep changing from small and dainty hands to strong and worn down and everything in between, in front of me there was a mirror. I was looking like some sort of glitch in the system, my appearance evermore shifting.

“Calm down child”- I can hear a calm voice from behind me.

I turned to see a tall woman, with purple eyes, and grey hair, she had fox ears instead of human ears and 9 fox tails.

“Who are you?- I turned to look at the woman, my instincts drifting to the multitude of scenarios that can unfold.

“I am Hanako Kitsurugi. An Entity. It might be hard for you to understand now, but, you will, with time. I had no choice but to come and possess your body. I gave you another chance at life, it may be a blessing or a curse in disguise”- Her words lingered in my mind, she approached me and put one of her hands on my face.

“I am... I don’t have a name.”- I blurted out to the fox woman.

“It’s ok. What about the name Meiko? What do you say?”

“Meiko, it sounds, wonderful.”- I don’t know why I said it, but I liked that name.”

The fox woman turned me to the mirror and I could see my appearance. I am a girl, very young, despite my young age I have white hair and red eyes, I am dressed in a silver jacket with a white shirt underneath and wearing a pair of blue jeans, they are pretty flexible.

“How do you like this appearance?”- Hanako asked me

I nodded to her in approval.

“One question, why can’t I remember who I am?”- She stopped and turned to me again.

“That’s because you were dead before this. I granted you life again. Plus, your human mind couldn’t resist having an entity inside it without a great sacrifice. I am sorry, I only saved the memories of your best friend”- No, this can’t be possible, how did I die? How?

And Lucas, what happened to him?

“You will see soon enough, you will wake up in a Hunter base, the woman that has taken you in is named Amy. There are also other people there, another person that will be taking care of you is Iseri, he is the same as you. And last but not least, don’t be afraid to master your power, you are about to enter a foreign territory of your world. Be strong, Meiko, I will always be here for you”- A sound of fingers snapping can be heard and I woke up in the real world, like that world was just a dream world, wait, why do I have this knowledge all of the sudden, it isn’t specific, but more universal. I know by instinct how to do certain things now.

“You are awake Meiko. Did you sleep well?”- A woman with silver hair, and red eyes dressed in a lab coat and white pants smiled at me.

“You must be Amy?”- I still remember what Hanako said about Amy, she adopted me? Some things are still unclear after our brief encounter.

“Yes, you still remember something of what Hanako told you. From today onward, you will be my little sister. Today, take it easy. Tomorrow we are going to do some training together”- She gave me 1 last smile before leaving the room. She seems like a nice person.

I can’t stay in bed for too long, I need to get up soon and do something. I am still wondering. When can I see Lucas, what will I be able to remember of him now?

Will he be ok? Will I be able to recall anything if at all about our time together?

It’s not good. I need to clear my head. I got out of bed and walked to the door of my room. It’s open, so I just went outside. My room is in a big house with multiple rooms, just like a hotel. Downstairs there is a place that has tables, chairs and smells of food, wait, that’s a cafeteria, but I don’t feel hungry, I like eating tho

!Kid, it’s me, Hanako. As a possessed, you don’t need to eat or drink to survive. You just need magic feed.!

“Hanako?”- Is she inside me? Inside my head?

!Yes, I am inside your head. I am an entity, I will always be here with you, Meiko!

“Thanks”- I feel like I shouldn’t have had this reaction, it’s like something is controlling the reactions that I have.

Going down to the cafeteria I was sitting at a table, when a man, brown-skinned, green eyes, wearing a fashionable black suit approached me.

“You must be Meiko. I am Iseri”- He extended his hand and in return, I extended mine for a handshake.

“Yes, I was searching for you, or for anyone competent enough to tell me what is going on”- I spoke silently and ate the food that was given to me.

“Well, to make a long story short. We were out exploring, found a ravine in the woods and there was your dead body. Hanako was with us and you absorbed her, it happened so fast, that not even Amy had the time to drag Hanako away. Now, you are here with us. By all means, enjoy your time here and your childhood”- Iseri extended his left hand and reached for my head, gently patting my head.

“Childhood?”- I don’t even know my age.

“You are currently 13 Meiko. Just take a good look in the mirror, you might have looked like a grown adult in Hanako’s dimension, but not here”- He cracked another smile before landing me in a mirror.

Looking at it I find the same appearance that I had in Hanako’s dimension or dream, or whatever was that.

After chatting a few more minutes with Iseri, the 2 of us head to my room, he is showing me a bunch of cool stuff around the house as well. They call it a Base here and then assign them a letter and number, interesting.

I did get to see Amy during the day, but she didn’t have time to speak with me
