The following day, Sena had time to drag April into the shopping mall for a walk surprising a lot of people.

She had been shuttling between home and work that everyone thought she finally snapped and took a break on her own. Seeing her out, the HQ can finally breathe easy. At least they are now assured that their boss is not a robot.

While they relax, Sena on the other hand has a goal in her mind. Though it was true that the busy schedule is dangerously chafing at her patience and going to the mall today is fun, she still remembers something important.

The hit and run accident are about to happen. It went unpunished because there was no evidence that could incriminate the culprit. The culprit itself has a good business relationship with the mayor that is why they have no qualms covering for them. If the agreement and several dark transactions between them are exposed, the mayor’s candidacy for re-election is doomed.

The corrupt leadership of this city has to stop. From the mayor’s wayward son to his abominable secretary, all of them have to fall.

On the way, she unexpectedly saw Sophie getting out from a familiar silver Phantom near a boutique. The other also noticed her and stopped, she smiled shallowly and swung her hips intending to talk to her.

“It’s nice to see you.” Sophie greeted with a cloying smile then turned her eyes to April.

“Hello, Ms Qin.”

How could Sophie ignore the indifference in her tone? But more than that was the surprise she felt when seeing Sena again after so long.

It made her wonder how she was able to change a lot in just a short time. Unlike the sallow unhealthy look before she appears to be glowing now. Once again she is looking at that promising and vibrant young miss everyone knew.

Sena noticed her preoccupation as well as the flashes of contempt in her eyes. She didn’t plan to interrupt and she could care less what goes in her head. She just wants to hurry up to meet with the others.

As she was about to leave, Sophie opened her mouth.

“About last time,” Sophie laughed embarrassedly, “It was my fault for dragging you in, it wasn’t my intention to do that. I came to apologize to the family after but I’m afraid...”

“It’s all in the past Miss Qin,” she waved off before she could think of prolonging the drama. “Everyone is broadminded. Besides it wasn’t that big of the deal to affect anyone, the newlyweds don't mind either.”

Sophie’s smile cracked a little. “Still, if there is a chance I would like to apologize to Leo and Linda.”

“That won’t be necessary. They’re not petty people to hold a grudge over a small thing.” Sena said naturally then she looked at her watch.

Did she think she would have a chance to meet the couple?

“You’re leaving soon?” Sophie looked at her with an awkwardly forced smile. “I was hoping we could talk things over… you know for the sake of old times. As I thought you’re really avoiding me because of what I did. I shouldn’t have--”

“Yeah, you shouldn’t have.” Sena said directly.

In the lobby of the mall in front of so many people, she chose to sell misery. At the same time making her appear to be a small-minded person. Classic Sophie. She has to applaud her for this.

Unfortunately for her, Sena has no plan of buying it. With eyes curiously staring at them she gave a soft laugh before casually saying, “Conflicts really make awkward situations but it’s been a while. Let’s not dwell on it.”

“But--”

“Listen, don’t make it look weirder than it already is. Besides, if I were avoiding you, I wouldn’t let you see me at all. Let alone talk.”

That’s true, people agreed. Why does she have to complicate things when the other lady was lightly taking the situation? She was playfully confident, not even a hint of embarrassment on her face was seen.

Sophie was taken by surprise by her response. She thought she would be more careful of what to say since there were plenty of people looking.

“Anything else?” Sena asked.

“I just want to catch up, that’s all.”

“Well, if you don’t mind coming with us to the top floor and watch the puppet show--”

Sophie unknowingly took a step back. Puppet show? Why the hell would she even want to go?

“You’re going up for that?”

Sena nodded. Sophie wanted to see if she was lying or not but she noticed she was only wearing a pair of distressed jeans and a sleeveless top. Comfy casual clothes and soft leather sneakers. The simple drape fell on her tall figure stunningly making her a lot more youthful and vibrant. She on the other hand wore a backless yellow mini dress to define more of her mature curves. They were clearly the same age but the difference in style made her a little uncomfortable.

“We are about to buy tickets for the show. How about it? Want to join?”

“Ah, no. thank you.” Sophie’s smile was stiff as she forced the words out. “I was actually about to invite you to hang out the day after tomorrow.”

She paused, angled her head in a thoughtful posture before smiling deeply. Here it comes, Sophie really won’t give up just like that. She had to gain something somehow.

“There’s a good place up in the northside, everyone planned to go there.”

The mountainous path of the northside, there are too few people living there. The roads are wide and winding, the perfect place for drag racing and accidents.

Slowly, a smile crept up Sena’s lips. Her real emotion was kept down. “Sure, why not?”

Sophie was delighted and finally let the ladies go.

Watching them walk away, she wiped the docile look on her face and walked back to the car. Losing interest in buying anything now. Inside, Master Yang was leaning his elbow against the window while giving her a profound gaze.

“Who is she?” he asked all of a sudden.

Sophie paused in between fixing the tight dress and her hair, “She’s not important.”

“She looks familiar.”

She stopped moving altogether and sneered inwardly. See how people turn and twist their necks whenever Sena is around? It was only a brief encounter and yet enough to catch the man’s notice.

In truth, no one hates beauties until they become a threat to one’s self-esteem. Sena always does that to whomever she is with. She thought Sena always had too much while others ended up feeling less whenever she was around.

Everyone has to adjust moving within her fantastic shimmering orbit.

“She’s the one you’re talking about previously.” it wasn’t a question but rather a statement.

Sophie felt like his attention was gradually shifting, she needed to preemptively shoot. “She co-own a small company with her childhood friends. She does have some skills, unfortunately, she’s an outcast to her family. The usual conflict.”

Infidelity. This ought to leave a lasting impression to girls like her. Parents separated, one remarried and is now happy with the new family while the other left early. Master Yang thoughtfully minced Sophie’s deliberate butchering of her person and finally came to a conclusion; she’s independent, daring and talented.

As for her background, he is yet to consider that.
