The onset of the issue, Maya’s fans aren’t the only one who criticized Sena. Unsurprisingly, Asha and Zhang Min who were silent for a while also joined in the fun. 

As vloggers with slight popularities, the two of them were asked by other netizens in hopes of digging more of Sena’s background. People had seen them hang out for some time, of course, they will be counted as well.

After making up, she and Asha continued with the vlog. Eating and drinking at famous restaurants, attending parties to keep the illusion of the rich young ladies.

At one event when the two are trying out a one Michelin star restaurant, a netizen asked them live. 

“I heard the two missies are acquainted with Maya Luz’s sister?”

Zhang Min sipped on her latte pretentiously while showing off her latest iPhone in the camera.

“Sena Erde?” she smiled half-heartedly. “We met each other on a couple of occasions but we are not that close. Don’t misunderstand me, I haven’t been to her place and only know a few things as you do.”

Who wants to drown in spittle along with her? She hasn’t given them a good face since the island, why should she admit being friends with her? 

Then Asha tweeted, “We don’t belong on the same circle. She has her own set of friends and we haven’t seen her for a while.”

Netizen: Sophie Qin is also your friend?

“Of course,” Asha nodded, “we have been friends for a long time and share the same interest.”

Then an anonymous netizen typed: True, they were sisters since middle school and loved to bully students who came from poor families.

The prompts suddenly stopped. Zhang Min’s smile remained but Asha began to sweat coldly.   

Sena had no idea she had been discarded by her plastic sisters online. She was at home leisurely reviewing the contracts she won for the real estate company and the upcoming resort project with Horizon Group. 

The online gossip was about to reach the top five when all of a sudden a financial magazine released this month’s issue. It squeezed everyone as it launched straight to the top spot snuffing out the growing comparison conflict between half-sisters. 

Entrepreneur Society, a prestigious magazine discussed the two dark horses of the business community, Horizon Group and Alpha Tech. They gave a detailed report about the life of its leaders, their growth as well as the trials faced during the period when both businesses choose a drastic method to tide over the obstacles. 

But those were only a part of the reason why it became a hot topic. 

The magazine included snippets of the last company gathering. In a full two page glossy paper the dazzling array of leaders from managers, directors to several high profile people toasting each other became the highlight. Among them, a few young faces graced the seemingly rigid gathering of elites. 

Sena’s face was photographed vividly when she shook hands with the Horizon’s new CEO. The caption revealed her position as both shareholder and business consultant startling many people who bought a copy. 

Including the online trolls. 

Another surprise came when on the next day, the famous publication posted on their official social media account a photo of the party in a much lighter and at ease atmosphere. Sena and Layla sat side by side while Nicholas and Michael talked to the CEO of Alpha Tech.

The five faces with high affinity to the cameras didn’t look like they belonged at a business gathering but then Entrepreneur Society quoted them as the new generation of elites. It was subtly revealing the importance of the positions they held. 

Many had chopped Sena’s name online because of the ugly pictures but only a few of them can identify her. The post of Entrepreneur Society had a slow effect at first until the focus shifted to the beauty holding a crystal champagne flute. 

A well-informed netizen pointed at the lady wearing a familiar dress and finally connected her to Sena Erde, the half-sister of Maya who walked alongside the COO of Angharad. The alleged trash who climbs on wealthy old men’s beds for a favour.

The magazine quoted the respective accounts of the people in the photo and netizens hurriedly traced it, bringing them to Sena’s stagnant social media page.

In there they were faced with a black and white photo. She had her back turned as she looked over her shoulder to the camera. With her head slightly turned up, she gave her audience an innocent look. 

Everyone: ??? 

They seem to have opened the wrong page. 

The slope from her forehead, the tilt of her nose to her chin, not a single one was out of place. Every defined angle of her face was softened only by her playful smile and hypnotic almond eyes.

Is this the ugly old lady people ridiculed? Netizens were in disbelief. They clearly saw a beauty!!! 

Some overturned her page wishing to dig more photos but most were taken over a year ago while the rest were locked but even so it was enough to make the onlookers stare. The latest one was in that magazine. Seeing the array of exquisite shots of her mundane life many howled and asked for more.

Frisky: [I blinked and didn’t know how poor I was until I saw these pictures.]

There was a shot of Sena swinging languidly on a hammock at the sun deck of a luxury yacht. 

The reversal came quick and forceful.

OlalaMozzarella: [You’re kidding me!? This is truly Sena Erde? The one everyone said who clung to the old guy to bully her sister? How come I don’t read any of it?]

One comment roused the interest of the many bystanders who withheld to join in the circus the past couple of days. Seeing a good opportunity to mock some brain-damaged people, passersby began to pounce in. 

Frufru: [Will they put such news on print? Think carefully!] 

Maya’s fans also rally their forces one by one trying to fight for their cause. They have to raise the banner of their idol. No matter what she must not be defeated.  

Cuckoo: [She doesn’t have to cling to an old person. The young lady’s family is probably wealthier than him.]

Which was true.

Applesauce: [Fake! What young lady? If her mother didn’t have the money she wouldn’t appear there.]

Cuckoo: [I seem to hear bitterness. If your idol is not rich she wouldn’t even make it anywhere at all.]

The guy typing furiously on his laptop smiled smugly. Who told them to slander his angel? 

“Tsukiya, your parents called.” the voice of his cousin outside of his room came. 

The retort made the fans more unhappy. Isn’t this the same as saying Maya is plain?

Tsukiya who read the fiery comments laughed so hard. “As plain as rice soup, suckers!” 

Frisky: [Maya Luz is the real young lady. She is an outstanding student and she already helps her father running the family business.]

The passersby reading the comments.: Wahahaha hilarious.

Chopsuey: [Don’t forget the main issue here is when you slandered a person making her appear dirty because of some vague pictures. Now that you see it wasn’t like that at all you jump and shift to another topic.]

Applesauce: [Did you also forget that Maya lost her endorsement from Amore because of her? So what of her background? Her personality is rotten and stinky.] 

Cuckoo: [Says who? Did your idol tell you?]

The girl behind the computer glared, but she had no words to rebut because she was merely satisfying her own anger. Her chest rose and fell due to pent up emotions. 

Chopsuey: [Hahaha wake up whoever you are. It’s not too late to repent. Unfollow the crooked path of a brain dead fan and return to the light of logic and reason.]

Cuckoo: [LOL your gospel makes sense. The brother is right.]

Chopsuey: [I’m a sister dumbass!!!]

Cuckoo: [Sister. As you wish. Anyway many have been fooled by the internet. What you see is not what you always get, especially when there are plenty of jealous people everywhere.] 

If Maya cared for them or worth their admiration and dedication she could have at least said a word or two to clarify so as to not mislead you. Instead, she remained quiet allowing them to slander and castigate the other when she herself knew the truth.

Tsukiya put up a full photo of Sena on a floral dress during his house party. The simple and elegant clothing amplified her statuesque physique. 

Cuckoo: [Wash your eyes peasants.]

OlalaMozarella: [Ahhhhhhhhhh!!! What is this? Did my eyes deceive me? An angel came down on earth.] 

KittenScratch: [I suspect a conspiracy! I feel cheated. How can this compare to the crying dinosaur I saw?]

FireOnMyButt: [What the hell? They deliberately used an old photo of Sena Erde to make her look ugly then compare it to Maya Luz. How evil is this society?]

Chopsuey: [Humph, I live for this. It was satisfying to see how a renowned magazine itself sought justice for Sena Erde.]

Cuckoo: [Where are the haters now?]

FireOnMyButt: [They probably ran to the hills to comfort themselves.]

Cuckoo: [The truth must have been a painful slap. One face is not enough, give the other to balance it out!] 

The discussion is not over, however. By midnight a new piece is meant to come out giving the netizens and bystanders alike plenty to chew on. 

At home, Maya monitored online platforms with growing anxiety. Father Luz warned her not to poke Sena for the time being but her mother seemed to have been stimulated by his decision and went ahead with the plan. 

No doubt that the moment daddy sees this, they are his first suspects. Maya punched the bed angrily. 

Mrs Luz just came in when she saw her daughter’s worried face, “What’s wrong?”

Maya looked at her mom wearing her home clothes and groaned. 

“You did not come back last night.” 

Mrs Luz smiled, “My dear, mom told you I went to visit grandma after the charity ball last night. Seeing that it was so late I stayed there to rest.”

Maya frowned. The old lady must have cried and complained then asked her mother for money. Until now their family still kept clinging to them.  

“Daddy warned us not to move her, will he get mad?” 

Mrs Luz’s eyes sharpened, “He dares? Don’t worry, mom is here. Your dad will not get mad at you, you are his precious pearl. How are things by the way?”

“Not good. Look.”   

Maya pointed at the magazine post irritably. 

“Don’t worry,” her mother patted her head lovingly, “Didn’t your manager say as long as you get enough attention from this it will be beneficial for your next appearance?” Mrs Luz consoled. 

Business consultant. Shareholder. In just a few months and that bitch daughter is already shaking hands with the bigwigs? Mrs Luz clenched her hands tightly. She was just an inconspicuous rich daughter, now with this blown up issue, she fears that her Maya's career might get in trouble. 

Truthfully, both of them were a little nervous when the direction of the online gossip changed little by little. 

It wasn’t the same as before when there was a dedicated paparazzo who followed Sena. The little bitch found people to speak for her!  

Maya bit her thumb unaware of her mother's dilemma. She wanted that jewellery commercial so bad but the management pulled her out for misconduct. How humiliating is that? She didn’t want to blatantly offend Horizon Group either but she has a grudge.

Unfortunately, the issue did not affect the company making her more frustrated. If it was not backed by two large businesses, the Luz Companies could have easily put pressure on them.
