Of all the most stupid things Sena Erde did in her life--- which was quite a long list, by the way--- making a huge clown of herself in the middle of her best friend's wedding was the most spectacular one.

It was the scourge of her life haunting her for the last decades, the constant blade poking her conscience and her deepest regret.

Even until now when she is older she still thinks about it whenever she is in a cheery mood. For the past years, she wrestled with many rivals to climb back on the spot she once sat, and every time she achieved something, the demons from her youth outweighs the happiness she feels.

If only she had more brains back then.

She had that melancholic thought before she succumbed to fatigue while being hugged by the warm water in her bathtub. Sadness and regret for nearly twenty years had choked her but time only flows one way… or so she thought.

She had never been a believer in supernatural things. Until she got to experience it.

The wind was salty.

Sena blinked her eyes and was greeted by the familiar beachside of Deve Isle. The arched rock formation submerged in seawater, the pinkish sand under the setting sun and the turquoise blue waters sparkling like clear gems.

She was sure she was just soaking on her cast iron bathtub her landlady lent her. How come she suddenly ended up sitting on the seaside holding a glass of twenty one thousand dollars worth of Krug?

This is too extravagant. This is a dream, right? But though it is, the reminder still gave her a feeling of both guilt and happiness. Those days when everything seems to sparkle and shine.

She couldn’t help wishing this was real. And to her surprise, it all seemed very real.

Sena's heart jumped to her throat. Then very slowly, as if afraid of breaking the illusion she looked at her surroundings once again. The sound. Its smell. The feeling under her feet and wind caressing her skin.

Her finger tightened on the champagne glass unconsciously. It was cold. Then she gave herself a hard pinch making her howl in pain.

Yes, everything is real. Though she had wished for it in her heart for thousands of times she never once hoped it would come to this. As a result, goosebumps spread all over her body. In her nervousness, she emptied the wine in one gulp. The liquid choked her instantly when it went to her windpipe.

Sena repeatedly patted her chest. That was painful.

Tears streamed down her eyes for some reason, she didn't know whether it was from pain, relief, sadness or surprise. The flurry of emotions overwhelmed her.

She's back. Really back!

She lived forty years of regret until for some unexplainable reason she returned to the time where she is still young and proud at twenty-one. Where things from her oh-so fantastic life were starting to change.

Whatever caused this she had to utter a thank you. Whether it's temporary, a dream or not, this has been her heart's deepest desire.

Slowly, she got up, wore her strappy beach sandals and walked around the shore in a daze. Quietly, she asked thousands of questions about this unusual phenomena. When her brain started to hurt, she quickly stopped. Now that it came to this... it’s better to believe it.

Sena tried to refresh her memory. Where was she at the moment? What was she doing?

Looking at the beach, she guessed this must be the time she excused herself when guests began to arrive at the hotel. Then it dawned on her.

Tomorrow will be her best friend Linda's wedding to big brother Leo!

Linda. Pain pricked her heart. She and Linda had been friends since they were children, the man she is going to be with was their neighbour who was more like a real older brother to them, Leonard Tang.

Yes, Linda and Leo. A smile made her shapely lips curl. She was truly happy for them until she met the ladies of their big brother's circle. Everything went downward spiral from then on. Not good, she must not repeat what she did before!

Knowing that they were their big brother Leo's friends she let her guard down, apparently, that was the biggest mistake she ever made. They knew how well-protected and pampered she is by those two, in short Sena has never had any contact with malicious people all her life. She grew up cushioned in luxury, protected like a fragile egg and has not faced any major setback to broaden her perspective.

Some might say she was naive. Others may resent or sneer at her upbringing. But that was how she was raised. A beloved doll yet to know life outside.

A blank sheet of white paper is easy to stain.

As Sena got involved in the wrong circle of friends, through instigation using subtle hints they convinced her little by little that the relationship and stability she knew would eventually change.

A couple's world only belongs to them. If she kept on pressing in, they would just see her as a nuisance. It was better to put a little distance. But Sena is not like that, she's clingy, needy and was spoiled rotten. She loves having people around.

Knowing her fear of being alone, of course, she did the opposite. Slowly she got herself poisoned. As the wedding draws near she grew anxious that Linda and Leo would exclude her once they have their world. She felt afraid and insecure.

The world she knows is changing and she is helpless to either keep up or prevent it. The threat of being left alone suffocated her.

It was what they wanted to happen. They always did. And she was moving exactly how those people wished her to.

But Sena right now is finally awake.
