My ears were enjoying the sizzling sounds created by the onion and garlic placed inside my pan on medium high heat.

Adding in diced tomatoes, chopped sausages and some spices I mix them up after increasing the heat a bit and let them simmer for a couple of minutes.

Meanwhile I turn off whatever deepfried, ahegao nightcore weeb shit I'm listening to and open up my phone the check the most recent news in the gaming sphere.

*Magnum Magia - Game goes live today*

Quite literally translating to "Big Magic" ... great name if I do say so myself.

*Magnum Magia is without a doubt the biggest game released to date. Its development was a massive project that took over 15 whole years, and sunk in tens of billions of dollars. Will it live to the expectations? Or will it be a  flop of epic proportions, tonight we will find out. Please follow our Live Stream where our players will be taking their first steps in this new, wonderful world that is Magnum Magia*

Damn son, Bared 4 lines In and they already started with the advertisement.

*Magnum Magia is refered to as a VRMMORPG that uses a special Virtual Reality Capsule developed by the same company that made the game - 'Tesla Games'. By the words of the founder of 'Tesla Games', Elon Dusk ,the world of Magnum Magia is 'fully immersive' and it will make you feel like you yourself are part of its world. It features the one and only complete 'Mikhail Behavioral Pattern AI' that lets human NPCs mimic the way actual humans act and interact with each other and the environment, to the point where you cannot even tell the difference between them.*

The Michail Behavioral Patterns AI is actually a project I was part of. The concept is quite simple really . You set an observation system on your being that tracks everything you do ,the way act, the way your body reacts to the environment and everything of similar nature. You put the information inside of a program that processes it. The goal is for the computer to be able to create a human-like programmed being that will act like a human 'to the point where you will not be able to tell the difference' - as the article says. I'd say it turned out pretty well. There are some other things inside it, but that's the general idea.

It carries the name of 'Michail' ,the one who though of the system. He actually is one of the core men working for Tesla Games.

I myself was working as a neuroscientist on the project. Because I was one of the men that worked on the game I get the 'FirstBuy' priviledge that allows me to get up to 3 VR capsules for market price. Of course I bought all 3 of them ,I sent one to my  ex-wife and the other one I sold at an online auction. That alone allowed me to make back several times the money I spent on the 3.

Also speaking of my ex-wife, so you don't get the wrong idea, it will be good to mention that people are effectively immortal nowadays. In Simple words about 100 years ago there was a colossal breathrough in medicine, that breakthrough ultimately allowed a special program called "The Cell Restoration program" to be released about 8 years later in countries all around the world. Historians say that the Cell Restoration Program is a moment in human history that is on par with the Industrial revolution and the creation of the Computer and the Internet, If not more. I could go into detail but i'd be here for hours explaining how the thing went down.

The name is pretty self explanatory - The program helps restore the cells of the human body. Meaning that because of that, we can basically make the cells and tissues of the body stop aging. You can already probably guess why that's a very big thing.

The elderly don't somehow magically die after they reach a certain age. They die because the cells and tissues of the body age to such a degree that the organs made from them "break" . You get things like heart attacks or kidney failure because of that. Old age causes the hormones and the immune system to get all messed up making you more susceptible to disease. That is why they are always one of the first to go in a pandemic. In such a sense you don't die from old age, you die from something in you failing to work properly, and it fails to work properly because your cells have degraded since you've aged.

You can still die from diseases, maybe you eat one too many fat steaks, your coronary artery clogs up and you still die from a heart attack. Or maybe you catch a disease that is in essence the new Ebola or the new Corona Virus and die from that. That can still happen.

You just can't die now because of the nature of your old body and can live forever if nothing bad happens to you.

Back to my wife, imagine living with someone for 40 years. Maybe you'll get tired of them, maybe not. What about 70?...No?...100? How about 120? Or maybe even more.

You are bound to get tired of each other at some point in life and then seperate. Nothing more, nothing less. That is pretty much the story of the two of us got divorced.

I continue reading the news article.

*Magnum Magia can perfectly replicate all the human senses other than sight - hearing, touch, smell, taste. It even adds the senses of balance and acceleration that have been missing from other VR games before it. The sense of pain is also in the game but it cannot go beyond a certain threshold and can be changed in the options menu to the point of feeling no pain altogether, though that does not mean you'll feel nothing at all. As described by Beta-Testers of the game, getting hurt when the pain set to 0% gives you "the same feeling you get when you wake up after sleeping on your arm, a tingly, odd, unpleasant sensation".*

*"Other than all the senses the game also features over 100 different starting races that exist in many different worlds. All of the different races are at the very least human-like in build. By the words of Elon Dusk the founder of Tesla Games You can play as a Minotaur but not as a Centaur, that is because the minotaur has a human like build while the centaurs lower half is nothing like that of a human, The furthest we have gone from the human form is adding a tail or wings, we expect the angels and the beastmen for example to be part of the more popular races ................*

The article continues to talk about some other facts about the game and generally hyping it up.

Closing my phone I turn my head back to the stove and turn it off, get my meal on a plate and start eating after waiting for a bit to let it cool off. Of course before I start eating The majestic vomit inducing nightcore music is turned on again.

Eating ,I stare at the VR capsule resting just a few meters ahead of me, and I can't help feeling a little bit scared... Why scared you ask? Well... As a neuroscientist I know better than anyone else how delicate the human neural system is. It's very easy to fuck it up If you're not careful. Because of that till today I have not once stepped inside a VR capsule. For the last 20 years since the invention of the VR capsule ,using my connections with people in the medical field I have been observing for any side effects that originate from the use of the VR capsules. Trust me, I am in fact not paranoid, I just know how to preserve my life :D . Really though, my colleagues too are scared as shit from this thing. And we're not the only ones in History to have been. Look at the computers, when they first came out everyone legit thought they'd rot your brains if stare at them too much.

You can't really say i have no VR experience either, I have played the so called "Fake" VR games that make you wear that stupid looking headset and get a special treadmill just for you to be capable of moving around. It's actually quite good to be honest. But there is no way it will be able to "Immerse" you like the VR Capsule would since it effects only sight and hearing. There is no way it will effect the taste for example or the feeling of touch.

It's a fact, though. Even after an entire 20 years, nothing bad has happened to any individual that has used these capsules. A lot of my friends have also worked on the module of the capsule that is located in front of me today, it has been tested for 15 years, and they say nothing bad has happened to anyone who's used it.

Finishing dinner I check my phone for the time ... 18:48.

Knowing the the servers open up 21:00 and remembering all the stuff you will need to do before you will be capable of entering the game world. I dump the food stained plate In the sink, remove all my clothes, and put on the 'VR bodysuit' needed for the Capsule to work. It looks WAY too erotic in my opinion. But who cares? It's VR time BBY!

Getting Just a bit more hyped up than it's good for me, I open The Pod, Lay down inside and then close it. The inside is about the same size as the inside of a solarium, may be a bit of a problem for claustophobic people but i'm not one of them.

The Capsule AI activates and it says

"Player is inside of the Tesla Games VR Capsule "

"To Start up the Log In process please say the key word or phrase of your chosing"

"..."

I shuffle around for a bit preparing myself to use the cringy phrase I chose to enter the VR world.A voiced command is required to do so as you can see

"Lets Dive Right In!"
