Chapter 23  Mutiny Against Captain Claudia! by Harem-Fan

 

     After a while, we could no longer see land, and the afternoon was approaching. Goat was starting to look a bit green, and he went to the room to lay in his hammock.

     "See ya later Ken, I am not liking the rocking and swaying, ugh!"

     I had given him the cabin key and after he left, Raven asked the question we all thought.

     "Won't he end up swinging more in the hammock?"

     Lilith said while holding my arm.

     "Dear, I think you should go flirt with the Captain for a bit while she is sailing."

     Raven and I both look at her like she lost her mind, but I ask tentatively.

     "Lilith, why in the world would I do that? I have both of you with me, and I am not interested in looking for more lovers?"

     Lilith poked my nose with a smile and explained.

     "My silly Gold Dragon, I don't mean try to seduce her, but you need to be proactive with befriending her, if her 1st and 2nd mates are tricky. If she has a favorable feeling for you, she will trust you more. But if she ends up being a lesbian, we will send Raven or myself to befriend her. So let's assume she likes men first, now go up and use your charm, stud, fufu."

     Raven shrugs and tells the reluctant me.

     "Gods know I don't want to flirt with a woman, so better you than me."

     I have lots of doubts in my heart about this plan, but I head to the back of the ship...

     A sailor passed me as I was climbing up the steps to the elevated back of the ship where you steer the ship from.

     Captain Claudia was looking at the compass beside her for navigation and had the wheel tied into a straight position, so she could have her hands free. She was sitting on a tall stool and her dark eyes saw me approach. She smiled and asked in a friendly tone.

     "I see you are the early bird? Whenever passengers sail on my ship, there is always a 'Face' sent to get to know me."

     I relaxed when hearing her and genuinely smiled. I nodded my head while leaning on the rail facing the front.

     "That was exactly it. But to be honest, I am new to being on the ocean and still new to Adventuring, so getting to know a real Captain is not all bad."

     She smiled and seemed easy to talk to, she was blunt.

     "Well, I can tell you're well mannered and at least handsome. I can also tell your party cares for you as the leader. The fact a Gold Ranked Elf is following you means you are more interesting than one would first guess."

     "Thanks, my name is Ken Gold. May I ask, how often do you sail and where have you been?"

     "Well Ken, I can tell you are not up to date with nobility, but my full name is actually, Captain Pam Claudia. Pam is my first name, and I am from the Claudia noble family of Seaport City. I only sail around Norse, due to being raised on the coasts of our island nation. I am 25 by the way, ha-ha. sorry it always gets asked, so I will just tell you."

     "Thanks, that was on my mind. I knew you sounded mature, but you looked as old as me. And yes. I am a country bumpkin, and ex-blacksmith. Now, I am just an Adventuring Mystic Theurge."

     Pam took the lock off the wheel and looked at the compass. She made some adjustments to our direction, then she re-locked it. She pulled out a hip flask and took a drink, then she passed it to me.

     I gave her a questioning gaze and she laughed.

     "It is obviously a love potion, Ken, ha-ha!"

     With a grin, because I know she is lying, I took a drink. It was high quality rum. I capped it and passed it back.

     "I guess rum is the sailors' choice to pick me up?"

     She smiled and shook her head.

     "No, I wanted to see if you would react to drinking what I offered... You pass."

     I looked confused and asked.

     "Passed, was I being tested for something?"

     "Yes, to see if we could be friends. Your two female friends seem concerned about your progress, hah. Why not invite your two friends to eat a meal with me in my cabin in an hour, then they can ask me questions. I bet they are the ones who sent you, right?"

     "Yes, but I am glad I got to know you, so it is good."

     "Okay, stop flirting now, I am not that easy. See you in an hour."

     With that, I went back to the front to my party...

     An hour later, the four of us were inside the Captains Cabin and it was really nice, the complete opposite of the rest of the ship. The walls are a clean white, and even though the ocean air was present, it still smelled like a noble woman's room.

     Under the rear window of the ship was a high quality bed taking up the entire back half. It had pillows all around making it also look like a couch.

     The four of us are sitting around a small table with bolted down stools around it, or rather two 2 person benches. Being the tall ones, both Lilith and I sat at opposing corners so we could all fit. Pam sat next to me with Raven in front of me.

     Before we all ate, I held my Holy Symbol and cast...

     [Purify Food and Drink] [Prestidigitation: Flavor]

     Pam asked.

     "What was it you cast?"

     "Purify Food and Drink removes all impurities from well food and drink, so no disease or poisons will affect you, the other spell is Prestidigitation: Flavor, that makes the food taste better. I only cast the first one, not out of distrust, but I heard sometimes mice or rats sneak on ships, so..."

     No I lied, I totally do not trust her crew or the other teams, but I cannot tell her that. But Pam believed me.

     Soon a joyful hour passed, and Lilith entertained her with her Lute, and we as a whole, made friends with the Captain... Mission Complete!

     Sadly all good fun times must come to an end. Captain Claudia had to work. We parted ways with handshakes.

     She did wink at me though.

     Thankfully it didn't take long to clean the cabin. I slept in the hammock over Goat, and Lilith slept over Raven. The hammocks did not allow us to share.

     As we drifted off to sleep, I was fortunate enough to dream about one of my two roommate lovers.. So I just moved my senses to the door and kept watch through the night...

     As it felt like morning, I had noticed the forward motion of the ship had come to a stop. I also heard cabins being opened and muffled noises happening... Very suspicious, so I forced myself awake from the stimulation...

     I first tapped all of my team, and then as quietly as I possibly could, cast my buff spells...

     [Fastidiousness] [Extended False Life] [Extended Mage Armor] [Extended Wild Instincts] [Waterproof] x4 [Freedom of Movement] x2 [Extended Water Breathing]

     The extra Waterproof spells are party wide, while I cast the Freedom of Movement on me and Lilith. I cast the Extended Water Breathing on myself, with the spell should be self explanatory...

     Lilith cast [Invisibility] on Raven, because healing and buff spells do not break invisibility.

     Raven cast the shared damage spell [Shield Other] on me, so I can be a Meat Shield front liner for the group.

     As the lock began to unlock, I faded into the shadows, effectively going invisible to the enemy...

     Goat has a grin, with his pistol pointed to the door. Lilith has her bow drawn with acidic arrows aimed at the dipstick who opens the door. Yeah, unlocking our door without knocking only means one thing, you done fucked up!

     With only Lilith and goat visible in the back of the room, a man sticks his head in to see us sleeping, but...

     BANG! Goat pulled the trigger on the flatfooted pirate who was unfortunate enough to get shot in the shoulder!

     "Anyway, I started blasting!"

     "FUCK! Help guys!"

     Thunk Sizzle Thunk Sizzle! Lilith's two arrows killed the pirate, dead! Ooh, with acid coating them, it is not a pleasant feeling, ouch!

     Thanks to the gunshot, another room with the assassins in it started to fight. Seems they sleep lightly. My blindsense can feel everyone now that all the cabin doors are open. I tell my group.

     "Okay, 3 of the five teams are out of commission, and the assassins are fighting. Seems to be 10 more invaders!"

     Just as a Pirate ran to rush our two ranged party members in the back of the cabin, I swung my longsword at the unsuspecting pirate with my attack of opportunity, hitting him for massive damage as I hit his neck! But now I am visible.

     "Ah! Damn you landlubber!"

     Whoosh! The pirate, knowing if he goes anymore will just get surrounded, swung his scimitar at me! Thankfully, he could not get past my magical armor!

     Casting defensively, I am not letting him hit me while distracted, I let out a great spell...

     [Haste]

     Now we can attack faster, evade better, and we can double our speed! I move over to block anyone else from coming in the room and my two ranged ally's have the ability to hit him without issue.

     "Heh! Like shooting fish in a barrel!"

     BANG! And with that shot, the pirate next to me died!

     Lilith starts her Bardic performance to Inspire Courage in us! Then she cast a spell to maintain it for a while...

     [Exquisite Accompaniment]

     Now for a minute or so, she does not have to sing her own performance, as a shadowy Lute plays the song for her. Now she can fight or cast spells with no issue.

     Three pirates come to my door I am blocking and each try to take a swing at me, and out of the three, only one hit for a light wound, not even enough to break through my False Life buff.

     I can now see about 9 pirates from my vantage point so I cast a spell defensively...

     [Fear]

     A faint purple wave from my left-palm waved out in a wide cone affecting all the pirates.

     "Retreat!" "Out of my way, AHHH!" "Run Away!" "AHHHH" "Mommy!"

     As one of the pirates at the door tried to run, I cut him down as he turned his back to me. As you guessed, Fear does exactly what its name implies, sends panic and fright through the targets...

     I saw a female assassin kill a runner, as all the pirates ran for the topside deck. The assassin nodded to me as I said to my party.

     "Follow me before they block us down here again, let's go up and fight!"

     I vanished in plain sight, while Goat followed me, followed by Lilith, and Raven...

     CRASH THUD!

     Just as we ran out on the deck, the whole ship was bumped hard, as the boarding ship had been tied to our ship with grappling-lines, and judging by the sinister looking crew, there could only be more pirates!

     Thanks to our Haste, I was able to get an idea of the situation...

     Captain Claudia and ten of her crew wear sapped and subdued, then tied to a mast by Pedro, Crow, and 8 mutinous sailors. At this time the enemy pirates are boarding and it is clear... They are friendly with Pedro!

     Lilith was quick on her reactions and cast...

     [Greater Invisibility]

     Now she can attack and stay invisible for a while. Her performance only needs to be heard and not seen, so we are still buffed..

     My Dragon Wings extended and I took flight! We were only able to act, because the confusion of the pirates screaming in terror from below has caused confusion in the ranks.

     With me up in the air, and both ladies invisible, Goat retreats backwards a bit and around the stairs edge for cover from the pirates, as he takes aim...

     Pedro pissed, points at me and Goat, commanded.

     "Crossbows and guns on the flyer! And kill the Goblin!"

     Five strong looking Pirates all climbed aboard and rushed into action. The leader with a hooked-hand and a pistol in his left-hand!

     A Rogue Halfling, with an ugly appearance and a nasty dagger.

     A Human man, a well dressed Fighter.

     An attractive Human woman, probably a Swashbuckler based on her stance and cutlass.

     And finally another rough looking Human woman who seems like a Rogue as well.

     Behind the boarding boat they got off, was another boat full of flunkies who look like they have not bathed in years. They have daggers in their teeth and are ready to climb up!

     I extended my hand to the ship not yet to ours and cast...

     [Fireball]

      Swoosh, BOOOOM! And the pea sized bead landed in the middle of their rowboat killing all but one, and sinking the damn vessel!

     Hook looked up at me and yelled before shooting me.

     "Damn mate, that was just rude, right?!"

     Bang! And I perfectly took a bullet to my shoulder! But to the disbelief of the Gunslinger, my wound did not look serious at all (Raven took half the wound), and he frowned. I smiled and said.

     "I think I will ignore you bastards and fly over to your stupid ship and sink it while you play here, what do you think, ha-ha?!"

     "Fucking cunt, shoot that Half-Dragon down, yesterday!"

     And the battle truly begins with a hail of crossbow bolts flying up at me!
