"So, we will make this quick," Cassandra began with a slightly bored expression on her face. Daphne had been dragged away moments prior, and my knees felt like noodles. I felt like everyone in the room was sizing me up, which inspired some rather... interesting thoughts. If it came down to fight, would I be able to escape? It was safe to assume that everyone seated here was either close to or already at the pinnacle of power. Even if I gave it my all, what hope would I truly have? Just then, however, I heard a clap and my immediate surroundings began to shift.

W-what incredible magic, I thought to myself as I observed the spell's effects in real-time. It must have been an intrinsic magic unique to the vampire, allowing her to manipulate the castle at will. I almost began to feel grateful that she was my teacher until I remembered my circumstances. These are high-level monsters. Who knows what they could be thinking? For all I knew, she could be transporting me to a slaughterhouse where they would harvest my organs!

"Don't worry," She said to me. "I won't harm or allow anyone to harm you." I don't know why, but I suddenly felt reassured by her words, and at that moment, we arrived at our destination.

"Woah!" It was a library unlike anything I'd ever seen before, with organized shelves extending to what seemed like infinity. It had books on a variety of topics, and I could detect the presence of magic quite strongly.

"We happen to have an extensive collection of Tomes you can read through whenever you want," Cassandra told me exactly what I wanted to hear. I almost felt like hugging her, even! This is a treasure trove of knowledge! "However, we'll need you to hold this first," She spoke authoritatively as she materialized a blue crystal from thin air. Please teach me how to do that, I thought to myself as I tentatively stretched my hand to touch it. When I did, the panel appeared before me:

Dex 654

"What?!" I couldn't contain my surprise. I'd gained thirteen levels all at once, just from touching the crystal! What is that thing?! I asked no one in particular, but she answered as if she could read my mind, saying,

"It's an EXP crystal. In theory, it should give out enough EXP to reach level 100, irrespective of the user's level, but practically, it's better reserved for people close to that point."

"W-why is that?" I asked, starting to collect myself.

"The energy stored within is not infinite, so we try to use it with care. Human souls are expensive, after all." H-h-human souls?! I fell to my knees at the revelation, but she only laughed heartily at this, saying, "We think we're going to enjoy training you, after all," with a glint in her eye that made me fear for my life. She's a sadist! "As a Mage, your casting speed matters above all else, so we'll be working on that. We'll also encourage you to read as many Tomes as possible to expand your arsenal. Every week or so, we will organize fights with Gorgons and other magic type monsters."

"W-what about physical type monsters? Wouldn't I need to know how to fight against them?" I asked, but she had an answer for that as well,

"For that, you'll be sparring against us. Don't worry. We'll be gentle," She said with smile that inspired anything but reassurance. Oh gods, please deliver me from this fate! I prayed, despite not being religious as my training with the Vampire Queen began in earnest.
