As I conducted my research into the [Reclassing] skill, I quickly lost track of the time, and the weeks went by in a flash. It was hard to explain, but I was starting to understand those mad scientists I'd read about in science fiction novels. I would go hours without eating or sleeping and still feel full of energy and life! I couldn't even put a number on how many times Tamara entered my "study" to bring me food or remind me to sleep. That's how addictive it was! In her own way, she was looking out for me, but I couldn't be bothered with anything else, so she had to use force sometimes.
"Daphne, you must eat!"
"But I'm so close!" I protested as she restrained me with her snake half. I remembered that incident with a nostalgic smile on my face as I stared at the results of my research.

Why did I consider this the fruit of my research? It's a long story, I thought to myself as I began to recall all the events after that first use. I knew Swordmasters couldn't use bows, but I wanted to get down to the bottom of it. Why couldn't they use bows? What was stopping them from using other weapon types? These were the questions that led me into the beginning of my experimentation, but before that, I had other matters to attend to.
Of course, I wanted to first conquer the pain so I could select the classes I desired, but things didn't exactly pan out the way I wanted. The flood of information always induced migraines. I just got a little better at dealing with the pain, which allowed me to select the classes I wanted more often than not, but it was still a work in progress.
Next on my long to-do list was to see if I could change to magical classes, but I quickly found out to my horror that it was impossible.
<Error: No Magical Aptitude Detected!>
That was the message that appeared whenever I tried to change to a Mage class. It was disheartening, but it did prove Lucia's— no, Cadenza's Magical Aptitude Theory, if I remember correctly. So, from that unpleasant experience, I learned that my [Reclassing] was limited to other physical classes.
From there, the experimentation began in earnest. I switched back to the Swordmaster class and tried firing my arrows at a target I positioned a reasonable distance from where I stood, but... every single shot missed. It made no sense to me. My Dex stat was maxed out, so how? I wondered. I spent the next few days puzzling over this question until the answer struck me like a bolt of lightning: Dexterity is not general but specific. It was a simple concept with far-reaching ramifications.
For one, it explained why some classes "couldn't" use certain weapon types. It's not like they couldn't in the strictest sense of the word. Nothing stopped me from picking up a bow as a Swordmaster. They just didn't have any Dexterity for the weapons they couldn't use. In the Swordmaster's case, this meant that the 750 Dex only applied to the sword. All other weapons had 0 Dex, which was the same as not even wielding a weapon at all.
I felt like I'd come across something truly special that gave me a better understanding of my skill and classes as a whole. I deserve a Nobel prize or whatever they give to researchers in this world, I thought to myself quite smugly as I plunged into the next task: finding the right classes.
Ideally, I could use any physical class, but practically, I was limited to classes that could either use bows, swords, or both. The reason for this was simple. Gaining weapon EXP for a new weapon would be too tedious and time consuming, and at this point in time, where so much was uncertain, I was better off improving upon my strengths than trying to conquer deficiencies. This left me with Sniper, Swordmaster, Assassin, and General as my only options due to the fact that they satisfied my conditions.
Of course, I'd have to choose depending on the situation, but... if there's any unit that could stand a chance against 3rd tier classes, it would be the General, I concluded as I began my experimentation with it. At first, it was really weird. I felt as if I had gained weight upon changing to it for the first time. But then, I remembered that Generals were among the classes with the highest Con stat in the game, and everything clicked. Even my bow feels lighter, I thought to myself as I started training with it. And that's how today I would be facing off against a Cyclops!
Yes, I had Tamara bring one out for me, and yes, its grotesquely muscular arms held a battle axe above its one-eyed head, ready to bring it down with a violent fury. Why wasn't I worried? I'd tapped into a secret of sorts. [Reclassing] didn't just allow one to change classes. It was a sophisticated tool with which one could perform minor or major alterations to the classes they used, almost like a class editor. This allowed for the rigging of skill activation chances, but at the moment, I was still working on it.
This could go very badly for me. My doubts were loud and clear, but I rooted myself in place by reminding myself that even in the worst case scenario, I would survive it. It'd just hurt really, really bad. I braced myself for an impact that... never happened? I closed my eyes, so I couldn't tell exactly what went down. All I was sure of was that the axe didn't make contact with me. When I opened my eyes, the reason for this became clear. A faint golden shimmer enveloped me, the [Great Shield] of the General class that could nullify all physical damage.
I'm saved! I thought to myself as I sent it crashing into a wall of the Labyrinth with one punch. Cyclops had the highest strength stat out of any boss monster, so the fact that I'd taken 0 damage from its attack meant that the [Great Shield] could defend me from anything. I'd still have to test it out with 3rd tier classes, though. Who knows if there's some threshold to the damage it can nullify? I wondered as I grabbed an arrow from my quiver and positioned it on my bow with a confident smile on my face.
One shot was all it took. The Cyclops exploded into a shower of blood that painted the surroundings with red. What an awful smell, I thought to myself as I pinched my nose. Although their stats were more skewed towards strength, HP, and physical defense, Generals could use all weapon types, so their Dex stat applied to bows as well.
I couldn't hit with the same precision as before though, but I'd take that over learning how to use another weapon. General is going to become my strongest class from now on, I thought to myself with a smile as I observed the beautiful scenery.
I couldn't even put a number on how many times Tamara entered my "study" to bring me food or remind me to sleep. That's how addictive it was! In her own way, she was looking out for me, but I couldn't be bothered with anything else, so she had to use force sometimes.

Of course she has to be a general, she is a strategist, but unlike other generals, she knows how to think.

Daphne learned that brute force is the best strategy.

Nooo! No magic. No magic archer girl Daphne. Also general that's unexpected. Still, considering she is not just limited to t2(which is a lot), but to only physical classes, would have preferred for her to get t3 instead of this skill.
Thanks for the chapter.
This... does not seem like you've really thought this through enough Daphne.
