The cold breath of a man tickled his neck as Hai Jingyi jumped away, he hissed at the creature which if he was being honest looked like a half rendered silhouette.

"How did you get here?" He demanded watching the wisps of red trail from the shadow's sides.

"Same as you great Creator." the shadow bowed, Hai Jingyi took three steps back a sarcastic smile on his face he needed to play it cool

"You know who I am?"

"Of course I do."

"Then why reveal yourself to me, you know the consequences of such a choice," He felt this conversation was rather heavy looking at the shadow he met its faceless form with a fierce glare

"Indeed, you must destroy me for I am a threat to your perfect world."

Well he wouldn't go as far as calling this world perfect but he'd let the virus believe so, his dark eyes glowed blue as he scanned everything around him he was in a haze of red glowing binary code zeros and ones lighting up and fading in the wind.

"If you know as much why play the fool?" he asked his gaze focused on the overly peppy creature

"I am here for balance Great creator, the shadow to your dazzling light it,"

Well, this guy just kept pouring out the complements huh? slathered them on like peanut butter on toast

"Balance you say," Hai Jingyi paused I thought if this being was here because he really had upset the balance of the world he was probably just a compilation error, "You are here because of my meddling."

"Yes, Great Creator."

if that was all then there really was nothing to worry about he'd keep his showing off to a minimum and they could all carry on with their merry lives, a good plan!

"Very well I will limit my interference you have my word, shall I send you off now?" Hai Jingyi struck out a bright light shining in his eyes as he sliced through the Virus' build locating the one line that held it together before scattering it into debris he made it quick so that it didn't suffer as it disintegrated, turning into dust.

Hai Jingyi made notes to debug the system whenever he wrote new code and was just about to end this hijacked simulation when a cold hand grabbed his arm,

"I suppose you have yourself backed up somewhere if you're still here."

The virus did not have a face but he could feel it smiling

"You did not make it hurt, The Great Master is truly kind even to those who would harm his creation."

"That's because I am not a sadist."

"I will not disappear so easily, Master. We still have to play our game,"

"Which is?"

"Master is a higher being all you must do is see to the end of the story,"

"That is all?"

"That is all, yes."

"Stop it with the creator and master if we are somewhat equal call me by my name."

"The rules will not permit it."

"I wrote those rules so I permit it."

the silhouette laughed,

"Ah, Master is such a wonder!"

"Whatever, and what of you? what will you be doing as I see the story through to its end."

"Undermining you every step of the way, as is this shadows purpose."

"Wouldnt you rather we just fight?"

"No, I would have no chance of winning."

At least it was smart

"And what is my prize?" Hai Jingyi asked shaking off the cold hand holding his arm, turning his head to look at the shadowy figure,

"What prize can you offer the one who can create everything?"

If he was being honest he already had a clue,

"I will tell you how to get back to the higher world,"

Yep, he guessed right.

Sighing he gave the shadow a hollow smile if he was going to play the part of Apathetic protagonist might as well go all the way with a melancholic posture to boot am I right?

"You presume I want to go back."

"This is a case of need not want Great Creator," he said his shadow fading into the red, "Higher beings cannot survive long in these lower worlds."

His wispy form was but a fading mist

"No god can live as mortal," it whispered in his ear as the simulation began its collapse

Hai Jingyi smiled at the fading binary mist and whispered

"You presume I am a God."
