Hai Jingyi was knocked out, there was only one time he was that tired after three bottles of gin on a weekend he'd rather not remember, mistakes were made a car was set on fire the whims of newly rich youth and resentment of authority,it was a legendary feat he was even on the news and then, like now he slept like a rock barely even stiring.

Tai Qiang sat beside him watching quiet breaths and a perfectly still form, wondering at the marvel that was Hai Jingyi, with the power he displayed today he would now be considered a world treasure, people far and wide would come for him demanding his secrets and if he refused they would eliminate him labelling him as a threat to humanity

sure he was a tad overbearing with his unyielding personality but he was a kind soul one that didn't deserve what was coming for him

Six hours later Hai Jingyi woke up,

It was still light out so he figured he'd only been asleep for a short while closing his eyes he reviewed his current state, the lethargy and extreme exhaustion was long gone so happily he stretched out smacking a sleeping Tai Qiang hard in the face.

Both parties were surprised

one felt sheer terror.

the other was incredibly annoyed.

"What are you doing?"

the latter asked getting up from the floor

"Reacting to a dangerous situation! Why are you in my bed?"

"Keeping guard incase they send someone,"

recalling the events in the jade hall Hai Jingyi calmed down, "I fall asleep and wake up with a legendary swordsman as my body guard," he paused smiling

"Ah, speaking of which did they like my demonstration?"

"They liked it a little too much."

"Ah, so I'm popular now?" there were pros and cons to that; pros if he had a request they would listen to it

Hai Jingyi sighed, "I was hoping if the sect lords met up they'd at least talk of a way to find Hua Fang, but I guess the second plan works just fine,"

"And which plan is that?"

" i'll just wait for him to find me. He wants power I have the knowledge he seeks so i'll just chill somewhere till he shows up."

which with that stunt he pulled wouldn't be too long

"Don't worry I wont stay here when that time comes, cant risk this sect burning because of me i'll leave as soon as I sense him," he smiled sheepishly

"Can you beat him?"

to be honest he really didn't want to Hua fang was Jackass but he was still a precious creation, so really only Tai Qiang could beat him, that fight would be awesome to watch,

he wouldn't let the scene be bloody though, he'd just lead Hua Fang as far away from them as possible and engage in an eternal game of cat and mouse, it would be an adventure he was doomed never to escape

Tai Qiang saw hesitation, Hai Jingyi fell back on the bed a frustrated growl leaving his lips

"Not really, the Light gate technique didn't carry him off because I don't see him as an enemy,"

which wasn't exactly a lie, in the game Hua Fang was listed as a key player therefore a lot of scripts didn't apply to him,

"I hate him but the bonds of brotherhood seem stronger than my killing intent, most of those techniques wont be of much help, so I figured i'd use a sword or a spear whatever weapon actually, but a sword would be nice."

It would have been cruel of Tai Qiang to tell I'm tat his chances of beating Hua Fang were next to none in a sword fight, so he did not, but he wouldn't let the boy commit suicide via duel.

"Speaking of which, how do I get a sword I could just make one but I want to go the hard way and earn it."

"A sword chooses its owner, you'll have to wait for it to find you."

"Ah well I have the patience of an immortal so it wont be too hard." he got of the bed walking of to the windows the red light of the sunset cast a warm glow on his silhouette as the night approached,

"Tai Qiang," Hai Jingyi began turning to face him a smile on his face, "I wont bring our sect any problems,"

Tai Qiang was a bit startled at the wording wondering why it made his heart skip a beat, Hai Jingyi already saw himself as part of his sect...he didn't understand why that made him happy.

"... the other sects will send people to capture me and that wont be a peaceful encounter not to mention Hua Fang and his underlings but I am no coward so I'm not gonna run and I don't expect you to fight any battles for me."

Tau Qiang would do so even without being asked, he was rather alarmed at that realization taking a moment to look at Hai Jingyi again,

he was an attractive person that much was obvious but he was also ridiculously annoying pestering him relentlessly for days on end never once getting angry when he was dismissed rather sticking to him like a puppy eyes bright with something he didn't know how to place.

Listening to him speak he spoke very well incredibly proper to others but he spoke freely with him no pretense or airs just endless chatter that he'd grown quite fond of.

"- besides the best way to deal with someone planning to attack you is to make yourself unattainable, right? So I just need to show them-"

Tai Qiang watched as Hai Jingyi went on plotting not hearing a word he said walking over to him the latter looked up pausing in his tirade

"Tai Qiang?" he found he was rather used to his name on the mans lips, rather he really liked the sound of it a lot more than he should have, it was comforting and exhilarating at the same time.

Watching the face of the man before him, the final rays of sunlight framing hai Jingyi in a glowing embrace the world seemed to slow the distance between them still comfortable like that of friends he wanted something different from that so he took a step closer,

Hai Jingyi was confused but he didn't retreat at this distance he was forced to look up at him a few loose strands falling free, he lifted a hand to push them away but tai Qiang caught it, using his other hand to hold Hai Jingyi to him they stood chest to chest Hai Jingyi's wide eyes reflecting Tai Qiang's heated ones,

The arm around his waist tightened crushing him to tai Qiang making his mind freeze in panic
this scene it seemed too familiar,

he'd seen enough korean dramas to know what this situation looked like, two lovers embracing in the sunset, this worlds script was broken, there must be an error in the character sheet Tai Qiang was the stoic character who felt nothing beyond a the rush of a battle what was that look in his eye?

"...Ta..Tai Qiang, what are you doing?"

Hai Jingyi nervously asked forcing his eyes to the floor when felt heat rush to his cheeks in a deep blush, Tai qiang watched rather amused tilting Hai Jingiy's face up to meet his, the startled deer in the headlights look on his face charmed him a smile curled his lips and Hai Jingyi saw this in a daze, so you could smile like this, he thought as a soft pair of lips met his own.

At first it started out sweet with Tai Qiang watching Hai Jingyi as the latter fell into a trance leaning into Tai Qiangs embrace he placed one hand on his chest not pushing away as the kiss deepened becoming more wild with every passing moment, Hai Jingyi gasped as he melted in Tai Qiang's hands reason abandoned him as their tongues entangled, he wrapped his hands around Tai Qiang's neck holding him close as the others hands freely explored the body beneath his

Reason returned only when he found himself against a wall leaning on massive chest robes in disarray shivering in want swollen lips parted in feverish gasps, tai qiang burned the image into his mind while the other resisted the urge to teleport to a volcano and just drown himself in the lava.

"Hai Jingyi," A voice deep like thunder yet soothing like a brook called to him, "You should rest."

he was lifted an carried to his bed, blushing like a bride he wanted to punch that self satisfied smirk off that irritatingly handsome face as he was laid on the bed

Folding his arms he glared at his feet, pouting like a spoiled child. Tai qiang chuckled leaning down pressing a quick kiss to Hai Jingyi's temple

"We'll continue when you've fully recovered."

Hai Jingyi was left in a daze, watching tai Qiang leave before the mist in his mind cleared and he was thrown into turmoil.
