I wrote this chapter in like 1 hour, so please do help me find mistakes, as I just wanted to publish this before going to bed. Hope you enjoy!

Current Immortal Ranks:

Junior Immortal.

Immortal.

Senior Immortal.

Earth Immortal.

(I know. I'm incredibly innovative when it comes to naming. Also, for each breakthrough, life expectancy doubles, while power will either be double, triple or quadruple of the original, depending on the method and materials used during the breakthrough.)

Well, unlike the meeting with Diablo, the meeting with Rymes was kind of boring.

At least this time, however, I wasn't even close to shitting my pants.

You always gotta look on the positive side of things. (Unlike a certain lazy ass author...cough).

There's also Demon King Baal and his wife...but should I really visit them?

Last time I saw Demon King Baal, he was...well overweight...and smelly.

To be honest, I'd rather not visit him at the moment.

Alright then, the next one we'll be visiting is Selina.

I wonder how she's doing?

She is after all the first girl "protagonist."

Not that I judge people by their gender, but having to visit a girl instead of a muscle man and a damn hot devil, is a bit refreshing.

I'm guessing that her great-grandpa, that old Santa-looking man has already passed away.

It's been 400.000 years after all.

I hope it's not taken a toll on her mind though.

She's a cultivator. A toll or a weight on the mind will hinder her progress in cultivating and absorbing spiritual energy.

It's not exactly an ideal situation I'd like to see.

Wait, let me try to see what she's doing at the moment.

~~a couple tries later~~

Ah...that's a kinda sad moment in life indeed.

The thing happening before me was the funeral of her father.

Wait...her transformation is incredible.

SHE'S AN OLD LADY...duh. 400 000 years.

She's got so many wrinkles.

Oddly enough, she reminds me of my grandma back when I was a human.

She looks like she's got only a little longer to live, sadly.

Let's see...maybe I can help her advance in cultivation?

With a flick of my finger, my clothes change into the of traditional funeral clothing (traditional funeral clothing of the delta galaxy...won't go into detail, cuz I'm lazy) and head towards Selina.

POV: Selina.

「In the name of the Founders, as well as The True Immortal, let Solmon enter the path of reincarnation and be reincarnated into this world of anew.」

After saying his piece, the so-called 'priest' ignites my father's corpse, which turns into ash and blows away with the wind into the world to reincarnate.

Unlike most people, that would probably keep the ashes of their relatives, we at the Immortal Sect, believe that holding the ash of the deceased within a container will block their pathway to reincarnation.

It may sound funny, but that is how our tradition has become.

Most people would feel down about losing a relative, but I instead feel joyful and happy.

Happy for my father.

But, there is, of course, a sad and depressing side to all of this.

That is, he was only one step away from a realm no one has achieved yet...Earth Immortal.

If he had achieved that, his life expectancy would've doubled, allowing him to live up to approximately 800 000 years.

But, sadly, his fate had already been sealed.

At his death, he was ranked as the strongest Senior Immortal to exist, even exceeding my great grandfather at his peak.

Now though, I'm the strongest Senior Immortal.

Like my dad, I'm incredibly close to breaking through to Earth Immortal, however, I don't think I'll be able to make it as of now.

My body's too old to handle all the spiritual energy that I've absorbed over time.

I sigh and walk away, to sit down on a bench by the foggy pond.

「I'm sorry for interrupting, but may I sit by your side?」

My train of thoughts gets broken off by a soothing voice.

It's so smooth and warm that I almost forget the most important thing.

How did she sneak up on me, without me noticing?

Even if I was lost in thought, I should've sensed movement in the spiritual energy.

Is it perhaps an incredibly experienced assassin?

I hurriedly jump backwards and getting into a stance, ready to fight for my life!

「Oh my! You don't have to be on such high alert. I'm only here to see how you're doing after all these years.」

Announcement
Sorry. A cliffhanger.

Look, I'll appease you with a joke of mine that's totally not stolen.

What has two asses and can kill? (Hint, look at what is written in the chapter)

Spoiler

An Assassin. Now laugh.

[collapse]

I'm not entirely sure when the next chapter will be released, but I do feel a little inspired, so I may be able to upload within the next week, and IF I'm not lazy, it could be within a couple of days. However, I will not promise anything as I clearly can't seem to follow through with my promises. Sorry.
