To summon, a mage needs to make a contract with the being he or she is going to summon first. Normally it's done through a specific ritual each unique to the type of being he or she is going to make a pact with, and the being would always ask for a specific payment every time the mage summons it.
Summoning in its entirety is forbidden in the Holy Land, while summoning demons might get you strange looks from some people.
Once a summon tells their true name, it officially becomes a familiar. It can manifest indefinitely, and in some cases, even gaining a more human-like form. And their master can also use Rank Up Magic on them, evolving them further temporarily by utilizing a large amount of their mana.
The ability to cast two magic simultaneously. It can be the same spell or it can be different ones.
A rare ability that only a few mages have.
For most mages, it is necessary to learn the chant for the spell you want to cast. The chant helps greatly in the process of moulding one's mana into the necessary shape in order to cast the correct spell. However, once you have become really familiar with a spell, you will eventually be able to cast it without any chants, as your mind can shape your mana into the necessary shape much quicker than a chant allows. Usually though, this only applies to low-level magic, which is far less complex than high-level ones.
In lands where the Church holds sway, it is forbidden to teach high-level Holy Magic to those not associated with them. If you are caught doing so, they would hunt you down and put you to trial.
The Magocracy doesn't teach Holy Magic since they don't want to promote the preferred magic branch of the Church to their students. Not that they have access to high-level Holy priests to teach it.

A general ability to manifest shadows as physical objects, such as tendrils, spears, etc.
Advanced-Level

A spell that allowed the caster to generate a special shadow that he or she could submerge into. And not only that, the caster could also move with the shadow. The caster is also able to grab someone else and bring them inside their shadow if they so choose. However, they can't stay inside the shadow for long.
— Shadow Wall —
Creates a barrier made out of shadows to protect from enemy attacks.
Blood Magic
Master-level
— Dance of The Damned —
Using an open wound of one's enemy, manipulate their movement as the caster wishes. Can only be used against a single person and the caster can't cast anything else, categorizing it as a channeling spell.
A hybrid spell means shaping your mana to be two elements at once in a single spell. Which means the complexity of the spell will increase dramatically since the two elements need to be kept separate. Think of it like a really complex pipeline. They have to form a certain specific shape and they can't intersect with each other.
On the other hand, with Dual Casting, you can just have two spells with different elements being cast at once, then combine it afterwards, making a combo spell. Much simpler.
Hybrid spells is developed from combo spells by dual cast mages. So the user of an already developed hybrid spells only needs to follow the "programming" already set by the dual cast mages, without any need to really understand the specifics. Like Hug, not having to think on the specifics when casting his hybrid spells. Like summoning lava spouts from the ground. He doesn't specifically think to melt the earth underneath before letting it out to the surface (or energizing the earth's natural lava flow to burst upwards, though that's probably too impressive for an Advanced-level spell). While with his own invented spells, he really has to think up the physics and methods first before making it instinctual.
1. Soul Space
The ability to manifest an astral space where your soul can travel into. Physically, the astral space exists in the flow of mana inside your body.
Spellcasters can combine their mana to cast one singular, gigantic spell.
A magic Xaela can use to detect the presence of people. The radius is an entire city.
It would be more accurate to say that she utilized the system of her World Dungeon to use the spell instead of her own innate ability.
Fires a massive wave of cold and ice at your enemy in a cone.
Creates a snowstorm in an area.
In its original form, it could create harsh cold winds and snowfall throughout an entire mountain. However, one can modify it to increase its freezing power in exchange for reducing its range. Essentially a much more powerful version of Snowstorm.
A spell that fires off an immensely powerful wave of ice that turns any being into an ice crystal before making them shatter into a million pieces. Leaves a long trail of giant ice crystals in its wake.
A more powerful version of Frost Nova.
Instead of firing Absolute Zero in a straight line, it instead circles around the caster as it spirals outwards, enveloping his/her entire surroundings in a wave of extreme cold.
Quickened chant:
“O Lord of Flames! Rend mine enemies impotent under your flames and shatter their body into ashes! Explosion!”
Creates a massive explosion.
Conjures a twin whips of flame at the enemy.
Turns your wand akin to a flamethrower (or your palm).
"O lord of volcanoes, burn my foes into ashes! Flame Spout!"
Cuts through things with a blade made out of fire. Its cutting power comes from the heat.
A spell that fires a jet-like propulsion that can move the user at high speed.
An Advanced-level spell that erected a miniature around a person, protecting them from attacks from the outside. Unlike Hugo, who hardened the air around him, she turned it violent instead. It was a difference of perspective. Hugo, being from the modern world, saw air as merely particles of many types of gases. She, on the other hand, saw it in the classical way—as stale and unmoving wind.
Essentially Myrilla's version of Hugo's Wind Step. Hers is slower than his but smoother.
Considered Advanced-level because of the difficulty in using it properly.
A Master-level spell. Summon human-shaped miniature tornados to do the caster's bidding.
User : Myrilla
Grand Tornado was the common name for the Master-level Wind spell that conjured a massive swirling wind with a radius of a mile. It was quite the dangerous spell, considering that you could end up killing yourself with it if you cast it too close to where you were.
Create a miniature cyclone to blow away your enemies.
A spell Glinda invented herself. Using the spell, she would turn the air around the opponent into hundreds of blades before firing them all into said opponent.

At the northeast end of the continent, near the port where one can take a ship to the Demon Continent, there’s a World Dungeon named Serene Grotto.
It was a seaside cave only accessible whenever the tide was at its

The World Dungeon located in the University of Trine.
It was in the second year that Erika had a chance to visit the Labyrinth.
Its full name was the Labyrinth of Somme. It was a World Dungeon located right inside the University grounds. It was not open to the general public and those who ventured in its halls were mostly scholars and scientists researching it.
As for the students of the University, they were only allowed to enter once they were in fifth grade. However, thanks to her teacher deciding that the class should have a field trip going there, she had an earlier look at the place. The World Dungeon had quite the generous rule compared to the other Dungeons. For the first one hundred levels, the layout of the place would never change, allowing people to build camps and outposts inside the Labyrinth. And there were no monsters either. The only threat was rogue golems and such and they were already put down by the joint forces of the Duchy's soldiers, the dwarves, and the gnomes many, many years ago.
But, no one managed to go in further than the hundredth floor. For there was a door blocking the way and it was sturdy enough to prevent any attempts of destroying it.
The administrator of the Laybrinth of Somme.
Pebble-like magic stones used to heat up baths and the like.
Used as wall and gate material in the Magocracy's capital. Apparently it's well-suited to be enchanted by magic by writing runes on its surface.

The black knight that seems to always accompany Flameu everywhere. Never seen without his full armor, so nobody really knows how he looks like under it.

A new calendar was formed after the victory of the human race against the Demon God. That calendar was named the Heavenly Dragon calendar, in honor of the god that has blessed the Hero and his companions into victory against the demons. Years would be written as HD[xxx]. For example, HD100 is one hundred years after the victory of the Legendary Hero.
Past Events
HD001 = The Legendary Hero and his companions defeated the Demon God.
HD0xx = Mira founded the Magocracy. Milicis founded the Milicis Church.

HD0xx = Older Mira invented necromancy, all just from her witnessing the Demon King of Death performing necromancy when she was still with the Hero Party.
HD0xx = Mira attempted to open the Gate (the same Gate that Felicia tried to open)
HD0xx = Milicis and her chosen warriors assasinated Mira, stopping her from opening the Gate. The truth is kept hidden from history, as Milicis didn't want her friend's name to be tarnished. Milicis and Mira's disciples came to an agreement — the latter can study necromancy, provided they won't try to open the Gate like Mira did, and that they hid the fact that Mira was a necromancer as well.
HD0xx = Milicis dies as an old, unmarried woman on her deathbed.
HD1xx = The knowledge of necromancy starts to spread amongst the mages of the Magocracy, The source of the knowledge, however, remained obscured. Only a chosen few knew it came from their Founder.
HD2xx = The Hero-Emperor founded the Holy Empire (used to be Holy Kingdom).
HD5xx = The Necromancer King rose and fell.
HD7xx = A war enveloped the northern region of the Southwestern Continent. When it died, Ferus was founded.

The Magocracy has Magus Coins as the most commonly accepted currency. Surroundings kingdoms also use the same coins.
Demon rubies are one of the several currencies commonly used by the demons in the Demon Continent. The other ones were demon sapphires and demon topazes. In order of value, rubies were the first, then sapphires, then topazes. Just like gold, silver, and copper coins. As for the “demon” suffix, it came from the fact that the gems were specifically enchanted by the Demon Lord of Coins to differentiate themselves from ordinary rubies, sapphires, and topazes. Anyone who tried to use them other than as a currency would be cursed, or so they said. The Demon Lord himself was dead around half a millenia ago. Buried and choked under the mountain of gems he had hoarded supposedly.

It didn't have to be all of them, however. Only a number of them would suffice.
4. Priest/Priestess
Has to be able to cast at least Basic-Level Holy Magic.
5. Pastors/Nuns
Those that are part of the Church but are incapable of casting any Holy Magic.
Seems to be used if you want to enchant an object with magic in a more permanent way, creating what amounts to what they would call a magic item. Usually written on the surface of said item.
A strange plague that befell the Magocracy when Felicia was eight. It made the body of anyone infected to grow mana crystals. Strangely enough, it only affected those with no magical talent. Death is guaranteed as crystals would grow in your internal organs, causing multiple organ failures in the process.
A dungeon much larger than the usual fare. Mysteriously changes layout every day, making the creation of a map impossible. Once you're inside, it's as if you're transported into a different world entirely. There are only a few in the world. Apparently, no one has ever conquered them, even though they have existed even back in the era of the Legendary Hero, and perhaps even beyond that.
Hmm? Why haven't any of the legendary warriors of the past have
conquered them? Well, that's a curious thing, isn't it? It seems that no one has ever been able to find a path of the deeper floors. Some believed the path is so hidden no one has been able to find it. Some believed the dungeon actually really does end there and that there aren't any other floors beyond it. The scholars tend to agree more with the first theory, as a prevailing theory by examining the writings found sporadically inside them is that they're one thousand floors deep, but of course, no one has been able to prove it.
Dungeons were the term used to refer to enclosed spaces that is filled with demonic mana. Some dungeons were specifically built by the demons when they invade the human continents all those years ago, but others sprung up naturally, with no clear reason why.
Every dungeon has a core and a boss monster that guard it. For a dungeon to be conquered, the core must be taken out from the dungeon, and once it does, the demonic mana will slowly dissipate, and the dungeon would revert back to its original, natural form.
Monsters who wandered inside, attracted by the demonic mana, would slowly but surely fall under the control of the dungeon. And they could grow and evolve as well, sparked by the very same mana, so that they would become better guards to protect the core.
The equipment of adventurers who die inside would gain magical powers over time, and the dungeon would put them inside chests to lure more adventurers inside. That's why it's absolutely imperative for one to check for all sorts of traps before looting a chest inside a dungeon. Even the strongest adventurers could die to one if they're not careful, which is why the role of a trap-spotter is also important in a dungeon-delving party.
Not all of the magical effects attached to them would be useful though. Some might even curse the wearer, making him/her unable to take it off. That's why it's really important to bring a cleric with you that can detect and dispel curses. Or at the very least, only wear it once you're outside, after you've made sure it's safe first. However, some magical effects were really powerful indeed, like a sword that automatically makes its wielder be an expert swordsman, or a staff that makes its holder able to cast a Master-level spell even if they have never cast a spell before in his/her entire life. Naturally, those kinds of items would sell for a lot on the market.
The dungeon core itself could sell for a fortune in the market as well. The bigger it is, the more it's priced. Even a small one would be enough for one person to live an easy life for a year. Of course, in reality, you'll usually need a whole clan to conquer a dungeon, so the money would be split to everyone, which makes it far less lucrative.
However, it's different for the World Dungeons. Apparently, there isn't any demonic mana hanging around in the air. And no one has ever conquered any of them. They were at least hundreds of floors in length, far surpassing the depths of ordinary dungeons.
To call dungeons living organisms... it might be not that far off from the truth.
The party name Hugo and Felicia had chosen for themselves
A term for those unbound by the Chains of Fate.
Threads of destiny that binds every living soul that exists in the world, with some exceptions.
Four times a Legendary Hero has fought off a Demon God. Four times History Erasures have occurred.
Soon, the Fifth will come.
1. The Fifth Cycle
The current era.
2. The Fourth Cycle
Most humans can't use magic. No formal magic education. Magic users are hunted down by the Human God Emperor and his empire, which spanned the two human continents.
Nothing is different significantly in the Demon Continent throughout the cycles.
3. The Second Cycle
It was the cycle where the first seafolks came into being.
Marina's infamous title.
The people of this world already knew their earth was round but they could never explore the other half of the world, as there was this thing called the Endfog that would swallow any ships that entered it. Said Endfog circled the entire known world. Many scholars had speculated what could lie beyond it, from a number of continents just like ours to the afterlife itself, but no one really knew for sure.
Mira's plan of turning people with no magic potential into crystal golems made out of mana crystals. Yaldabaoth is the name of the massive crystal golem that will be created once all the golems combine together.
The truth is, the plan is actually intended to fuel her god-killing ritual. Together with the power of the Heavenly Dragon that she plans to absorb, she can (hopefully) kill the Goddess once and for all.
The curse that made the Ancients go extinct.
A forgotten truth that the Ancients knew.

The leader of the high elves. The oldest and most ancient of them all. Worshiped almost like a goddess by some.

The belief that marriage should only be used to make and raise children to be devout followers of the Church. Romance is unnecessary and even a hindrance. Both the man and woman should not enjoy doing their bedroom deeds, and only to do it to make the woman pregnant.
This belief stems from the fact that Milicis was never married herself, thus she became an example of a pure woman who had no desire for sex or other earthly pleasures.
The three disciples of Milicis.
The belief that men and women shouldn't be married at all, following the example of the Great Saint herself. Certainly, all the Church's Saints over its history have never married. In fact, they're forbidden to do so.
The holy book written by the three disciples of the Grand Saint. Still used as one of the basis of the religious teachings of the Church to this day.

Also known as the Succubus Queen.
Responsible for seducing Quania's husband, causing the fall of the Izurd race.
Fran suspects that she has an ability/magic that can force people to fall in love with her. It's something far different than what love potions could do.
Proudly wears her "Demon Lord of Love" title.
Also known as the Demon of Thousand Blades.
A lich who has a mastery over necromancy. Unlike human necromancy, his necromancy is innate to him being a lich. Apparently, according to Felicia, read from the necromancy book she stole from the Magocracy, human necromancy was invented by mimicking the Demon Lord's necromancy.
Felicia also says that he despises any other necromancers, especially human ones, believing them to be thieves of his knowledge. That's why she didn't go to the Demon Continent immediately. She didn't want to risk being caught by him when she wasn't ready, since apparently, he could sense any necromantic activity in the entire continent.
For more info, check the Rattlebone and Whitebone entry.
A Demon Lord with the ability of control monsters. Can supposedly control all monsters that exist in the world.
Gave the ogres of the Menet clan their six Titan Worms three hundred years ago, as thanks for a service they had done to her. In the recent one hundred years, she hadn't had any noteworthy activities.
He's one of the big players in the Demon Continent, having a decently large territory that he rules with his own laws and army. In fact, it’s like he has his own kingdom there. Unlike most of the rest of the Demon Continent, the region that’s under his rule has civilization. That’s why he earns the title of the Demon Lord of Wisdom.
Has only risen up to prominence in the last three hundred years or so.

One of the human city-states in the Demon Continent. Located to the northwestern end of the Demon Continent.
Home of Lionfang.
He was a wealthy merchant who operated mainly on the Demon Continent, trading between the seven human city states as well as Ixon. He dealt in all sorts of merchandise, from mundane stuff like carpets made out of the fur of red panthers (a monster native to the Demon Continent), to magic tools like a self-writing feather pen, and of course, slaves as well.

The ogre Hugo saved. Has a noble heart. His body is well-built and tall, reaching up to 2m in height.
The dark elf child Hugo rescued from slavery.
The dragon Ilymhrra slew in the past, saving Vera in the process. Used to be a baby dragon found by the Hero Party where Mira insisted that they should make him their pet instead of just killing him like they had killed his parent.
It didn't last long. He quickly escaped from the group, making Mira cry. He was just using them to survive.
It was enough of a reason for Ilymhrra to hunt him down. It took her nearly a millenium, and she only found him because he had grown arrogant enough to terrorize nearby villages, making his presence known.
Has the ability to cast magic. Can counter magic by his Magic Devour spell, absorbing an incoming spell's mana to enhance his own strength.
The big sister of Orluk. Is around 190 cm tall with shark-like teeth. Her weapon of choice is a spiked metal club.

Admits that the Izurd is a lot stronger than her race.
Tira's adopted human son. Two years younger than Hugo. A swordsman with brown hair.

The Land of Eternal Darkness.
It is a region located in the Demon Continent—a harsh and wild region filled with strong monsters—creatures who are the rulers of the dark. The day never comes, the sun never rises, and the moon is always shining blood red on the night sky.
A region in Einzelschwarz ruled by Black Dragons.
Located in Einzelschwarz, it's a region where the undead reigns. It is said it was once a place of a huge battle between the Legendary Heroes and the Demon God's armies. And the corpses born out of that battle could never rest, rising over and over again as undead monstrosity.
Located somewhere in the Demon Continent, it's part of the Fey territory there. Marina summons her fairy and dryad from here.
The small town of centaurs at the northeastern corner of the Demon Continent.
The pair of skeletons Hugo met on his back from Sherry's village.
Rattlebone, a plain old skeleton wearing purple robes, is the Demon Lord of Death while Whitebone, the little, girlish skeleton wearing red robes and a red ribbon on her head, is the real Necromancer King (the fake one being her Abomination, a tall, towering living corpse wearing pitch-black armor).
Rattlebone gave Felicia a book of necromancy and urged her to return to the art.
After their meeting at Quira, they departed south.
From a dialogue between Fiora and Frida:
Aah, now I am reminded of that tale. Of a knight in shining armor who stroke down evil wherever he went. He particularly despises slavers and would kill any slave merchants he met, even when they were just peacefully conducting their trade in the middle of a town."
I shrugged. "Let me guess. It's a cautionary tale at how one can go too far in pursuing righteousness, or something like that."
"Hmph, I guess you're too old to be taken by a simple morality play like that." She gave a small grin. "You're right. In the end, he grew despised by the people, and so he chose to live as a demon, believing that we humans as a whole deserved his scorn." She rested her arms under her chest and looked to the distance. "Oh, by the way, this isn't just some made-up morality tale to make kids behave. This is history, for that knight used to belong to the Order a really long time ago. Hundreds of years ago in fact."
The queen of the fey.
And Victoria's real mother.
Red-skinned with a singular black horn on their head, about five centimeters long. Possesses superhuman level of strength and durability. Quite a popular race for manual labor in the human colonies.
Ogres have a tradition of polygamy, where the strongest ogres would have multiple wives. They view it as a good thing since it means their tribes would grow stronger.
The "evil" counterpart to the elves. Unlike their brethren, they are more adept in physical strength rather than magic strength. They possess a similar physiology with the Izurds, where no matter how strong they get, they can never become a muscle-bound warrior.
Equivalent to nekomata. Looks like a cat kin but possesses two tails instead.
They were a demon race feared for their monstrous physical strength
and their rage-filled bloodlust. They would cut and skewer their
opponents without mercy. At their peak, you could send other monsters
running just from the knowledge of you being an Izurd. But over the
years, they had declined severely in numbers, after the knowledge of
their weakness was spread all over the
Demon Continent.
Humiliation, especially that of a sexual nature.
If rage increased their strength, sexual humiliation decreased it, to the point that they would just be like a normal human.
Once the other demons knew that fact, the Izurd stood no chance. The
pride they once had in their power disappeared overnight, and they were
humiliated to the ground, figuratively and literally. Demons skilled in
that kind of stuff like the incubi and the succubi were key to their
destruction.
And now, they had to live under the protection of the Fey, with their numbers so much lower from where it used to.
They have the ability to manipulate their hair, to the point that they could use it as if they were sharp weaponry. The stronger the Izurd is, the stronger their hair would be, and the more expensive it would be on the market to be used as forging materials for weapons and such. They say the strongest Izurds have hairs that are better than even the legendary Mythril.
Sherry belongs to this race.

“First Waltz. Dance of Delight.”
"Second Waltz. Dance of Terror."
"Final Waltz. Dance of Resignation."
The three Waltz taught to Fiora by Frida, as part of her Peacock School training. The First Waltz is a simple slash through the opponent at hyperspeed. The Second Waltz is a horizontal slicing motion at mid-air. The Final Waltz has the user surround the opponent by afterimages before attacking from all sides.
The three Waltz tend to be used in succession after one another.
Lancelot-Style:
1. Tempest Strike
Creates a whirlwind of slashes and send it towards your enemy.
2. Covetous Longsword
Increases the length of your sword using your aura.
3. Dragon Cross
Intended to be used with greatswords, the sword user stabs his or her greatsword to the ground, exploding the ground around it in a dragon pattern.

Sharpens one's blade to impossible levels using the swordsman's aura.
a. Staccato: Storm = Barrages the opponent with impossibly fast slashes and thrusts.
b. Staccato: Full Moon = Performs a full 360 degree slice around oneself
c. Staccato: Needle = Attacks the opponent with one powerful thrust. Can pierce high-armored enemies, injects one's own aura into their flesh, and explodes them from within.
2. Legato
A parrying technique intended to repel magic.
a. Legato: Full Moon = Spin around with your sword. A 360 degree move that protects oneself from attacks at any angle, except above and below.
b. Legato: Half Moon = A sweeping, 180 degrees move that could dispel a spell that surrounds you, ie: flame wall
c. Legato: New Moon = A thrust movement to hit the "core" of a spell, like a fireball.

Including Fate itself.

The king of the kingdom. A fierce middle-aged warrior wielding twin battle axes.
The Divine Beast worshiped by the people of the kingdom. Is actually an S-rank monster in the form of a giant deer.

He was as small as a human child, but with white beard and balding head. He wore a monocle on his left eye, a necessity so he could read his poems beside his fireplace—his favorite pastime.
He was the thirteenth of the illustrated Whitbottom line. His ancestors were amongst the first to cultivate this land and to this day, they were still one of the most influential Hobbit families in Foliton. They were “old money”, so to speak, and the other hobbits would always come to him if they were even in trouble of any sort.
Grants one the ability to puppet an opponent through their blood. All you need is a fresh, bleeding wound on said opponent.

A strange creature with no legs or arms. It's just a round ball with a face and rabbit ears. A crimson gem also rested on its forehead.

The half-seafolks could never leave the underwater cities. For there are no teleportation devices heading to the surface. And the water pressure would crush them in an instant the moment they left the barriers.

I last read this whenever my latest read chapter was released.
Have not bothered picking it up again. For all the reasons others have already said on here.
I kept reading as there was always potential for SOMETHING GRATIFYING. Because of those dangling carrots In The Future, All is Well.
Yeah... no. Done with the same tired crap and just dont see the point of continuing. It feels like reading dragonball, only with the most uninteresting hero to follow ever. just feels like it takes forever to get anywhere meaningful, with complet resets back to square 1.
The last time I felt specifically like this was during a real life board game of risk had 1 guy stack hundreds in australia with the rest of world owned by his one opponent, and we had to watch dice on end seemingly going nowhere. that and chutes and ladders.

This story is bad. Why? Because there are as of chapter 103 two novels here.
The first part is a light-hearted novel about a guy that couldn't find worth in his own life, being given a second chance to live a better life being reborn. He has no cheats, he tries hard and gets little by little better at living. Has relationship, a family, etc. Until here it is a 5/5 novel.
But then author decides to rape the light-hearted side of the novel and go at it George R.R. Martin style. With the excuse of being realistic he just basically destroys every setup he did, making the rest of the chapters miserable and depresing, wondering how a suicidal guy that reincarnated from a bad place, ending up in an even worse place, and still not ending it. At this side of the story I wouldn't even give a 1/5, but I can't rate lower than that.
If I really wanted a realistically sad and depresing story, I would see the news. 2020 is miserable enough, I don't need to read a novel to feel that way.

I don't know why I've stuck around for so long, even after I stopped commenting. The only way I can describe this is that it's an amalgamation of cliches that I want to be good. Where do I start?
Warning:VERY LONG
In the middle of chapter 1, Hugo is presented as a scarred recluse who dwells in fantasy after his traumatic encounter;however for an insecure person he loves telling the audience of his white knight tendencies, how he didn't lose the ''fight'' in a cool way, or how nonchalant it is when he says his addiction lead to him failing an entrance exam. Much of this can be attributed to the author's writing style. As is the fact that the character is a partial self-insert (admitted) from the author, his attention seeking contrasts poorly with the withdrawn nature of a hikikomori and the fact that anyone who got a job at all in Japan thinks of themselves as a failure is laughable. Such lofty ambition can only be possessed by a particular kind of individual over there, however it's the mindset of someone from the west (rather the perfectionist mindset common to the west). Now contrast this with
Rudeus Greyrat, right from the get-go, we see his perspective on his life as he's walking through the streets. He's an abject piece of sh*t, he asks why they kicked him out, he ''just'' didn't attend his parent's funeral (after they provided for him as a hikikomori). He ponder why he didn't do ANYTHING and how he criticizes those who create but never made anything. How if he'd tried, perhaps even 1 year earlier, he could've achieved something. In this moment, we see he's a selfish person, too insecure to put out works while mocking the works of others, and that he learns a lesson from his way of life that he carries onto his next life as Rudeus (it's pretty much a personal complex he's developed) In Mushoku Tensei, there are so many nuances, he recognizes his former attitude in Eris;makes her work at her dancing where she learns how satisfying it is to succeed at something she found hard, there by reinforcing Rudy's new way of thinking.I want to end this by saying that Rudy learns many lessons in his new life which I have not covered or pre-existing feelings). My point with this last section is that Rudy is a REAL person who hits rock bottom where he finally grows with time in his second life. His growth happens when his past mistakes cause him to develop in an extreme way (e.i. Hardwork complex) but he's consistent, readers know he never got over the past entirely, such as his ego/selfishness being kept in check when he thinks of the bullies.
I cannot fathom why Hugo fears the gazes of his beloved turning cold towards him, usually you'd fear gazes because they might be judging your weaknesses (insecurity where you'll never admit to a mistake). Why does he want attention and praise when he's been a shunned recluse in his whole life? Would he not reaffirm himself and attack others?
1. Sherry finds out her mother's name. 2. Sherry cries in denial at the mere mention of her biological mother's death when she and the readers never knew her at all. 3. she meets her grandmother. 4. Grandmother's baggage is unloaded. 5. exposition on Izurdians. So much is done in one chapter through this break-neck pace that readers can't feel the weight, impact, and emotions of any of the words spoken by the characters. You know, the reason why I ever brought up pacing is because the characters never developed at all and constantly ran in place while sounding like walking cliches going through the motions. So many out-bursts of emotion and character growth are unearned or not built up to at all.
Ha! If she thinks some mist is going to stop me, think again!

The story was good, I liked how he was starting to change his worthless self and become more driven but I was bound to be disappointed. Yes I only read until 55 because I cannot stand Hugo’s attitude and mentality anymore. That was a huge deal breaker for me, his mental is actually worse than his older sister. He is the one of the most worthless MC I have read, I guess the title was self-explanatory but I expected some redemption or change from his previous life. I prefer cliche MCs better than this one for sure. I cannot say how much he would change but I honestly cannot wait until he did because I feel so infuriated. But by reading other 1 star reviews, I don’t think he changed at all. If you’re like me wanting the MC to be a intellectually driven person and not a goddamn worthless, delusional, horny MC, I hope you are reading this review before you start this novel. If theres a “strong to stronger” tag then there should have been a “worthless to trash” tag.

I started out really enjoying the story, but I've stopped doing so since the beginning.
The emotional response the characters have are all over the place. It's as if most of the characters have dual personalities and do sh*t against their personality every time the writer wants to shake things up.
This could have been a reasonable good story if the writer had the ability to create characters the readers could believe in. A personality don't change at a flip of a switch.
An example would be when the parents of the MC died. The character would probably have stayed with his sister. If he would have had a sudden break of personality, then he would probably have either stayed and f**ked his sister, or ran and found the first girl he could f**k. A person that breaks usually degrades down to baser instincts, and the writer has made it clear that the baser instinct in this case is "the protagonist is perverted".
EDIT: The problem might be that the author doesn't seem to have a plan, but instead writes stuff based on his mood or stuff that he read between writing chapters. I'm not against getting inspiration, but I think the author should sit down, define his characters, so that he can ask the question "what would my character do in this situation", so that he can get some cohesiveness to the story and characters.
EDIT 2: I don't mean to sound overly critical, maybe it came off that way though. As I said previously, I really enjoyed the story at the beginning. I think the writing is at least average, if not better, compared to many other web novels I've read. I mean, I've read all chapters posted so far, so there is potential there. I just really have issues with the characters and the overall cohesiveness of the characters and the story, which is a big deal for me.

The Mushoku Tensei itche scratcher.
Ever since I finish reading Mushoku Tensei, I went on to other Isekai novels to try to fill that void. Some of them were interesting, I got into korean novels as well because of it. However, nothing really felt like Mushoku Tensei.
This novel fills that void for me and better. There's a bit of lewds and probably more in the future, not that softcore fanservice that I've been desensitized to, but actual lewds. The tags you see, incest, harem, etc, are real and the author isn't afraid to put in lewds so if you're not into that stuff, you've been warned.
Even at chapter 69, I'd still say this novel is just starting, there's alot of character moments that fills it which I love. Those character moments give us small bits of characterizations to each of the characters. Sometimes the author gives us other POVs which is a really nice touch and should be used more often for characters we start to like.
However, some readers of this novel find our MC, Hugo, to be a bit annoying. For a reincarnated person, he doesn't seem like one at all, but for a virgin, completely believable.
There isn't as much lewds as Rupegia, but it's far more than just normal fanservice.
There's actual masturbation descriptions and will likely have s*x scenes in the future.
If you need an adult version of Mushoku Tensei, this is your novel.

Is a good Story but IT clear to be going to be Story we're the MC is bullied and abuse to change and the Girls will alywas be in the right cause He Likes big boobs and so...^^ you can read it If you Like that is a good Story.
Pro: (No actul Spoiler for the Story)
Writing style is very good and I can only say that if I ever would worte my own story, this style would be the best for me and one I would try to have.
The Harem is also good balance in itself is not an instant love for the girls nor do I see any "big" problem with the personality of the girls
The have all they own wishes and thoughts plus Incest is wincast
Mage System is not too complex and MC is not an OP nor is he someone who can or understand everything straight away by first time use it
MC is a human he has mistakes and does stupid things, sometimes he seems too childish because he is mentally actually older but the other point who I will later point out in the Cons.
-World Building is a 4/5 the is still room to improve but He story is stil in the Beginn and so it can easy becoming better.
Cons
-Nicole and Bitch Princess
both characters are introduced in the last 2 chapters Nicole is someone who is a good person at the outside and has good look [will be used to let her Manipulatien the MC in doing this Bodyguard sh*t] but is very naive and stupid in the inside. After Witness the Princess emotionally and physically injured Hugo for no reason she call it that it is "hard love" disregarded that Hugo has just lost half his family in a very brutal way disregard the fact that this princess, who wants to become a queen, owns has not show any Leadership Talent, a true Queen or King can Inspiral her subject to obey her or follower her by reason and Logic plus by kindness and humility Bitch Princess don't own any of of these things even whether the next chapter explains that there are any reasons for behavior.
she has a 10 year old boy who can use a Grandmaster spell insulted and made him prolly dislike her so how is that a leader that is worth following even in the risk to endanger the future husband of a former friend?
Princess - arrogant and selfish -
think because she has a certain view Point trows some things everyone should act like her.
- She only thinks because she is supposedly a princess, she can insult Hugo personality and downplay his pain and tell him in the face that his family would be alive if he were stronger.
It to notice that if she were stronger herself as the act she would not need the help of a 10 year old, Princess why do you only have a maid and a friend with you? how comes you mighty one got only two woman one your side right now? could it be your only a brat who thinks the world should be Listing to you?
Her (Bitch) Pain will be used for Hugo to disregard his feelings for her but that's bullsh*t of a excuse to the reader WE have to forgive her sh*t because she had it hard the MC has to risk his Life for her because He is Trash and can only be saved by becoming a Bodyguard for a Person who downplay him as human and use is emotional stress for her own gain.
-Hugo
He is a Japanese man in his later 20s or eary 30s and still act most of the time worse then some Kids in the world He came in.
he was a bad person (past) in the sense that he disregarded his family and treated them badly. well that's a good reason not to be perfect but why is he so incredibly childish? in spirit he is older than his current sister but more often she looks more grown up than he. he apparently only learns if he is emotionally abused. he understands some of the mistakes he has made, but again he does not react at all to make them better or goes to extremes. - he does not speak his opinion clearly and let so himself be insults and instructs of how He is a coward by Others over and over again.
The world seems to only be pleace who where everbody got a Ego that is If treat by a word of a kid the have to Insult and attack this Kid... chill Guys :D
His little sister seems to go the "hate" Brother route because He could't protect his Father and mother against a Powerful Mage.. sure why not.

I have never liked pathetic main characters, because I feel like there are too many stories featuring them. The more "OP" they are, the more pathetic they somehow get. Is he a reincarnated old man, who is supposed to have lived for over 40 years and had a life before and now he is reincarnated into a new world with frigging magic? You think he will be wise beyond his years and absolutely dominate everyone and just be his awesome self? You are imagining how weird it will be when he is a child but acts more like an adult, because no one can be that great an actor to act like a child all the time? Nope! He will act more childish than if he wasn't even reincarnated and was actually a child. Does he have some OP powers to counteract his ret*rdedness? He will never use them or use them like an idiot. An idiot with powers is still in idiot. That's how majority of those stories go. But this one takes the cake. Now, don't take me wrong. In this story, it actually not a problem that the MC is pathetic. Why? Because the author told us so, because it is the premise, because the whole premise of the story is us seeing how he gets a second chance and makes himself better. Except he doesn't. He is the most childish, whinging, pathetic sorry excuse of a human being I have ever had the "pleasure" of reading about in my entire life. The moment he (BIG SPOILER AHEAD!)
left his younger sister (who is, not a reincarnated person, and is actually a child, but is ten times wiser and more mature that our MC) after his parents were murdered, because he felt bad...
The total regression of the story and everything it was building up to be from chapter 100 or so was just a final straw.

First of I love this story ! Clearly a nominee for Pulitzer Prize
I recommend this to people who :
- like a main character who could as well be you dear review reader. A character who due to bad luck fell into hikikomorism and self hatred but has the chance to reincarnate hence the name "Reincarnation of a Worthless Man"
- like (at least in regard to other novels relativly) realistic harem story. In which love is not only expressed in words but also with certain actions (͡º ͜ʖ ͡º) . Even if you hate harems in stories it is not not like every girl likes the MC and therefore the MC has a harem. Rather the MC falls in love a with different girls at the same time and has to cope with feeling like an as**ole for doing that. I mean even some girls hate the idea of being part of a harem (very intriguing indeed).
And at least as of now 100 chapters released there is no harem and every mentioning of a harem is practically criticsim against harems
- character progression of every main character. Which the author does with care and thought
- believable behavior of characters in drastic situations. (Even if some readers hate it sometimes)
- a relativly logically closed world. As in most things that happen in this other world follows the logic of that world (or the author explains why and how things happend if they seem out of place)
- lighthearted stories but who can also appreciate a lot of tension
- people who like Mushoku Tensei. For me "Reincarnation of a Worthless Man" feels like a progression because the author tries to mix up or even twist reincarnations tropes and cliches
for example slave harem farms which educate females to "love" their master and to have no free will of their own
- like stories in which you can not predict what will happen in the next 10 chapters
- an author who clearly cares for his community as seen in replies in chapter comments.
