Tyson's confusion is palpable when he wakes up disoriented in the back of a truck. But the real kicker? He's replaced the X-Men's signature hero, Rogue, and gained her superpower, a gift and curse combined. His touch becomes a danger to all, but holds near-limitless potential.
The story is good. I really want to read it.
I don't mind anything else like plot holes or inconsistency like the MC's involvement not changing pretty much anything in the story. Everything follows the canon events no matter what he does. Or how he killed sabertooth in few seconds but Mystique was in his hands for several minutes and fine enough to follow through with her canon actions the next day.
But what I can't the stand is the smut, it completely ruined the story for me. MC can't touch anyone and uses illusion to do the deed while watching from a distance. Nope. To my weak mind this is just ntr.
Go with no expectations and this is a great read.

It's one of the best.
The main character has a likeable personality and lots of flaws that he struggles with and fixes as he goes along and meets new characters. The side characters are also amazing, they feel alive and distinct, and their interactions with the MC don't feel forced or unnatural. Every side character has a good amount of "screen time" and are not forgotten as soon as the arcs ends. They all cannot obviously appear all the time, but the characters that are developed and obviously important to the story always come back and continue their development through interactions with other new characters.
The story is very well done and the arcs have just the right length. Every arc is an unique adventure that is almost self-conteined, but links amazingly with the next, and keeps the progression of the story and the characters.
The story has smut (very well written), and multiple romantic interests, but the smut is well placed and pretty small in comparison to the rest of the story. Even if you don't like or prefer harem like I do (which I would not really qualify this novel completely as of yet), I would still give it a shot, every relationship feels real and special, and not just a conduit for s*xual fantasies with comic book characters.
The only gripe I would say I have with the story (and it's a very small one), is an over reliance on one of the abilities of the main character (I will not spoilt it but it's pretty obvious), but even then, the combat is well written.
All in all, a really recommended read if you like X-Men or The Avengers (or other characters that may or may not also appear...).
