High school senior Clay just wants to ask out the girl of his dreams during a week-long vacation on a secluded island. Arriving early, he shirks off helping set up camp to instead wander, running into a strange stone mural that awakens an ancient mystical power. Group mom Terri discovers him transformed into a girl and takes pity on him; she disguises him as her out-of-town friend so he doesn’t die of embarrassment. As the group welcomes “Cindy” into their fold, it becomes clear quickly that Clay was only part of the group by obligation, and they’re actually a little relieved he “couldn’t make it.” Cindy is forced to contend with the fact they don’t like the person she was, as well as the question of what kind of person she really wants to be. There may not be enough time for introspection, though. Whatever power Clay awakened, they have its attention, and maintaining this lie just puts them in even more danger.
