Qin Yan died (cause unknown and under investigation). His soul was able to transmigrate...into an eggplant.
Astounding!
The world he transmigrated into was from a crappy novel he read previously.
As in, a novel he read over ten years ago, of which he remembered next to nothing about.
The system uselessly told him to make others angry, gave a few dubious promises, refused to explain anything, then disappeared. And so, eggplant Qin Yan was left to grow in a Demonic Sect's territory where the screams of the tormented were as commonplace as the usual backdrop songs in an elevator. And since when was an eggplant predatory like a Venus fly trap?!
Qin Yan: "Um, could I just R.I.P. instead? Not sure if I want to grow into a demonic eggplant..."
Author: *utter silence* *presses angst button*
In the end, Qin Yan's only solace was in tickling the future protagonist of the novel, who was apparently going to blacken into a scummy man with a diverse harem. It was too much of a pity...so Qin Yan figured that if it was unavoidable that he was growing into a strange eggplant, he might as well try and help the young protagonist escape his tragic fate?
You want quality BL novel? You got it right here. Normally, I avoid original fiction due to the writing style or finding the plot boring. This is one of the rare cases where I dropped the Chinese novel I'm currently reading in order to marathon-read this one.
The writing style is smooth and engaging. It's easy to follow along and it's rather humorous. There's an excellent balance of narration and dialogue. Honestly, I've got no complaints here at all.
The MC is interesting and intriguing. Personally, he's my favorite type of protagonist - the morally ambiguous one. Well, he's an eggplant, so we can't judge him by human standards.
The romance isn't here yet, so I can't comment yet. Surprisingly, I'm not in a hurry for it, because the story line is already entertaining enough and I just want to keep on reading. I might have to stockpile chapters...

At this point, there's not a whole lot to review but I'm leaving this here to encourage people to give it a try :D
This has an interesting setting: I guess I can say without spoilering that although Qin Yan transmigrates and there's a system, it's done in a way I haven't seen before. I'm definitely looking forward to how this'll turn out.
I like both leads as well as their interactions. Haha writing this kinda makes me wanna reread it xD
It's interesting, cute, amusing and reads well. If you're deliberating whether or not to start this, why not let this review be the deciding nudge that makes you tap the "read" button :)

Quite an interesting concept and good execution.
Even better English, both in terms of grammar and vocabulary.
Overall, it's a story with quite a few twists, which I like. There seems to be an ongoing mystery, which hopefully will be resolved in the end.
Also, its technically not Shounen AI, as the main couple get together roughly in the middle of the book. I'm also being told that there will be some mature content! Or so I'm hoping.

I thought I wrote a review for this novel, but I guess I didn't, so here it is!
This novel is a PERFECT balance of seriousness and comedy. I'm not sure if the author was going for that balance, but it's something that completely suits my taste.
What can I say? The grammar and writing is immaculate, the characters are all interesting and are integral to the plot. And oh boy, THE PLOT. Golden and beautiful! The mystery is something that has not been yet expanded upon, yet the author gives slight hints and clues, leaving the reader guessing. I just love those kinds of mysteries, the ones where its not completely focused on the mystery yet always lingering on the back of my mind.

Absolutely Wonderful! Very well thought out and coherent plot. The set-up in the arcs that divide the atmosphere and structure are very neatly formulaic. Details aren't left as plot-holes, and are expanded on as the story continues.
Main characters are deep with emotional development throughout the story. Side characters are interesting as well, with enough depth to be a story of their own. And the love story is very sweet and rewarding to read.
If you're interested in an involved plot with a strong building romantic relationship thrown in alongside, this is perfect. And the dynamic with Qin Yan's identity interacting with people and the world is very enjoyable to intriguing while reading.
