Level Up, Your Majesty is the kind of novel that you open to just read a chapter or two, and then before you know it, it's 4 am the next day and you have just finished binging it.
There are a few reasons behind it, but firstly let me talk about the most important one: Eydis.
Eydis is the heart of this story. Being the MC, we watch the story unravel mostly through her lens. And it is an absolute delight.
Eydis is clever, capable, witty, smart, and undeniably charming. Even without her powers, she's not a damsel in distress. I'd risk saying that one of the best parts about Level Up is watching Eydis mop the floor with people with the sheer power of maxed-out charisma and speech.
Her presence is so strong that she easily dominates every scene she's in, with only Astra being able to match her. Which often leads to a true feast for all GL lovers, because their chemistry is incredible.
I won't go into details to avoid spoilers, but if you're looking for a steamy yuri ship that will leave you blushing like a pure maiden, then look no further.
In general, the characters are probably the strongest point of Level Up. They are interesting, fleshed out, and feel like actual people, not just props to make the MC look better.
The plot is meaty with some twists and turns that will keep you smashing that "next" button like an addict. It's well thought out with some interesting spins on the common tropes.
The writing is fantastic. It's the perfect balance between getting to the point while retaining the element of artistry without being overbearing.
The scenes are vivid and visceral, fights are engaging. The quieter moments feel intimate and soft, while the hotter moments have the perfect amount of spice.
The only warning I have for people is: do not start it on a weekday. Seriously, once you start, you won't be able to stop.
Binge responsibly, people!
