This is a great story about a marine biologist turned octopus trying to survive in a foreign world and this is one of the better stories about an underwater reincarnation I’ve read (though sadly I lack the ability to articulate why) the grammars good and the writing flows well with the character having good progression so far aaand that’s the most I can articulate right now

Idk what to say. It's just good and pleasant to read. I don't use all my brain cells but neither are they totally turned off. The MC's inner narrative, decisions, and behavior stay true to the identity and role of a former marine biologist with consistent human values versus "you're an octopus now :) try not to die :) ".
He's not a power gamer, this is not some power fantasy (as of yet). He's just someone trying to survive but at the same time he cannot help but think in the context and perspective of his former life. To me that's a very interesting contrast and I hope the story continues to develop this aspect.
Something else I like is the sheer worldbuilding and biodiversity. I love animal facts and am no biologist, but everything so far seems accurate. I also love MC actively benefiting from his knowledge base and having to adjust as he goes along. The other characters, though rare they are so far, are also lovely in their own ways.
