Marvel did Wanda dirty.
I remember leaving the cinema thinking that after the disappointing finale of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It wasn’t a terrible movie, exactly, or at least it wasn’t the worst one Marvel had put out. Still, I’d been hyped for it and had been let down by the arc they had put one of my favourite characters through.
And now I was here, looking at my reflection in a dirty mirror in a tiny, grey-brick bathroom and seeing Wanda Maximoff staring back at me. It was like Kevin Feige and Sam Raimi had heard my disappointment and drop-kicked me across the multiverse in response, putting me here as if to say, “Go on, then. You do a better job.”
I held a hand up in front of me. I could feel the power, bubbling away below the surface, and it took only the slightest effort of will for a faint swirl of red energy to play across my fingers.
Fine, then. Watch me.

An MCU fan from our world wakes up in the body of Wanda Maximoff prior to the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Resolving not to meet the same fate as the original, she seeks to use her powers and metaknowledge to create a better world, stopping villains ahead of time and saving thousands or millions of lives in the process. However, there are gaps in her knowledge and reality is more fragile and complicated than she expects. Butterfly effects from her actions rapidly start spiraling out of control, setting her in opposition to heroes she'd rather have as allies. The Scarlet Witch is prophesied to either rule the cosmos or annihilate it, and she intends to save this universe... even if she has to drag it kicking and screaming the whole way.

The MC is a regular person with personal trauma, blind spots, and a fallible, incomplete memory of the setting. LWYMMD is not the story of a hypercompetent MC who is going to steamroll the setting using her metaknowledge. She will struggle, make mistakes, and things will often not work out according to plan. There will be high highs, but also extremely low lows.
- Crossposted on Royal Road, AO3, Spacebattles, and Sufficient Velocity (same username/title).
- Will contain some romance elements but nothing explicit enough for a content warning. Mostly female/female, but protagonist is bisexual.
- New chapters will be posted once a week on Fridays at around 7.00 AM-ish AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time).
Really, really good. The action, the story, the character behavior. It's all there. There's a really interesting thing that I think the author is trying to aim for, but I won't spoil. You can get a feel for it when scenes kind of lock in place.
I'm actually taking a break at this point because it's a little too emotionally challenging for me right now. This story really makes you empathize with everything from Wanda's perspective which... is actually really hard to read. Lots of sadness, lots of maturity mixed with impossible choices, and most importantly lots of drama.

This is well written on all fronts. Grammar, Plot, Characters. Its all good. Definitely 5 star quality.
However, this isn't for me because everything that can go wrong, does. The title is definitely a bit of a warning on the tone of this story.
Wanda, our MC, gets absolutely thrashed by life. Every turn she takes, she gets a brutal backhanded pimp slap. She just keeps taking L after L and it's frustrating as f**k. Even the little wins she gets aren't really wins, just not losses. Which eventually turn into something verrryyy close to loss. Good times don't last.
So if you like or don't mind MCs being put through an absolute wringer, you'll enjoy this one.

This is the best marvel fanfic I've read, though I've not seen many. Basically, you know the trope of being scared to break canon and/or tell people knowledge? This does that, and does it seriously. Consequences galore, and oh is it beautiful! It's not all dreary, especially after what I'd consider the first mini arc. But essentially, you reaaally get the vibe of the sheer chaos MC is causing, sometimes her fault, sometimes not as much.
Here's an example of my fav part of the book so far,
subverting the trope of helpful omnipotent Ancient One, the protectors from interdimensional threats really don't like the MC actually and it's awesomeeee
I also have to mention the characters are super well written. No one is overly competent nor overly dumb, not MC and not anyone else. Everyone has their own motivations and character and the world does not revolve around MC. Not overpowered either. Very solidily written fights, everyone feels in character, and MC is much more than a stock power fantasy self insert. I can't figure out any criticism, though I'm sure there are some to be had. But you know, reviewer bias and all, it's either the best or the worst.
Oh and girls love should be a tag

Soooooooo Good!!
The writing, in all aspects, is really really really really well done.
Characters feel real.
The plot is interesting.
What little we have seen of romance is actually nice.
The wait for new chapters, even though they release quickly, is killing me.
I suck at writing reviews, so I will just say this story is worth reading.

This is a great story. The author did a great job character building. Relating to and connecting to side characters. The MC believably grows over time. Not everything is just handed to them. I really like this story!
