I feel that this story has been a graphically detailed and slowly progressing short story about an absolutely hellish experience that one guy slogs through.

it is all misery and confusion from the beginning and ending in his 'death'.

I strongly suspect that the first 10 ratings, which were all 5 star, were done by the author from various devices with different IPs. The writing itself is surprisingly good. The story was almost entirely torture to read, however.
