When a mage absorbs an elementally attuned sigil - like Firebolt or Watershell - their mana will gradually become attuned to that element. Unattuned mages are those who don't absorb any elemental abilities. These are often supporters.
Sigils grant a specific ability - a spell when they're absorbed.
For example, a Firebolt sigil would grant only the power to make Firebolts.
Apex Sigils are reality-breaking sigils that grant extraordinary powers.
Mages can only have one, and this ability is unaffected by elemental attunement.
The titular character of Annabelle's Bastion.
She was born and raised on Earth, being among the billions of humans unaware of the existence of magic or any form of existential threat. When handed an invitation to join Bastion Academy, she eagerly jumped at it, seeing it as an opportunity to escape the roads paved for her by expectations and obligations. When confronted with the grim reality of what awaits her upon graduating, she only becomes more determined, hoping to become part of the force protecting not only Earth but every world in existence.

Oversoul - a mysterious ability that seemingly allows her to inhabit other bodies, sometimes destroying the original soul and sometimes not.
Sigils:
A seemingly cold, mysterious girl with no surname, raised on Bastion Academy's island and waiting for it to officially start so she can advance in magical might.
She comes from a world so dangerous that some in Bastion wanted her dead from the beginning. Due to the efforts of Alisha and the Dwarf, Gromak, she was able to be raised in peace, but not without heavy scrutiny. Her true motivations and goals remain ambiguous, but she desires strength above all else. Confidence bordering on arrogance, she doesn't believe there is a problem she can't overcome. Her merciless, cold demeanor is only contained by her friendship and adoration for her only friend.

Sigils:
The enigmatic headmaster of Bastion Academy, in technical charge of all Bastion activities on Earth.
Her face is covered by a steel mask and she has a passion for hoodies and dark jeans. Nothing about her is known, easily hidden by her playful, teasing demeanor and overwhelming power.
A mighty Dwarf with a love of Mithril and crude jokes.
His past, political powers, and strength remain a total mystery. But Bastion has to take special care in how to interact with him.
Everything here is as of the current chapter - not my future plans. Also note that this is based on what the characters themselves discover and think. This is not me telling you what it is - it's what the character has found.
Annabelle's Sigils:Annabelle's Apex Sigil: Oversoul
Oversoul allows Annabelle to turn her being into an ethereal ring that exists within the soulscape. In that space, she can attach herself to the soul of others. Her purpose could be to attack, to make her soul battle the target's. The winner will consume the loser. For Annabelle, this means gaining the targets memories and sigils. But she cannot use them due to her unattuned mana - unless she consumed an unattuned soul. The other purpose is to connect, which allows her to exist within the target's body along with their soul. This allows Annabelle to use her powers from the host's body and to even allow them to access all of the sigils she has consumed. She can make her host many times stronger through her consumed sigils.

These are sigils gained through soul consumption. Anavel theorizes that sigils turn into pure energy when consumed by Oversoul, and Annabelle works as the bridge that allows her target to access them.

Aria's Apex Sigil: Armament
Aria can create and control any weapon she has absorbed. The limits and capabilities of this power haven't been tested, but Gromak gave her a pistol that she has been able to create and use with magical bullets. She can transmit her other powers into her created weapons. Thus, this ability should truly shine when Aria gets more sigils. But there is also a question - what happens if she absorbs an artifact weapon?
Story
Annabelle's Bastion is still in its kind of early stages but what's been released so far has been great. Some setup has been done for some races, organizations and factions, enough to make the world feel larger and give the reader a general understanding of where the various groups stand but nothing too in depth yet.
The story begins with a somehow basic magic school premise where the main character Annabelle (and reader) is introduced to the basics of the world and power system. The author makes sure that things don't get repetitive/ predictable with the magic school / lessons.
The main character has some clearly defined goals and there's enough mystery to keep the reader invested in what comes next.
The power/ magic system of the book is interesting and has been pretty well explored so far. It's easy to understand with some defined limits but still a lot of potential for interesting things.

The MC Annabelle is great so far. She's kind but isn't a pushover, has interesting dynamics and interaction with the other characters especially Aria and
Anavel

Writing flows well and is easy to understand.
Grammar
Grammar is good. No major errors and I don't remember any typos.
Overall, I've been enjoying this story so far and I'd recommend other readers try it out.
