    Just a bit too boring.

The Author has a different definition of fun. Skips most of the combat, hates writing interactions with characters and makes most of the reading boring. Most of the story is MC making sense of the runes and blacksmithing. He does invent some interesting things, but the journey is so boring. Instead of time skipping some of this, he time skips him exploring a dungeon and secret passageways., interacting with adventurers and lastly skill ups. Otherwise it is perfect grammar, the world is well thought out and system is also done well. It has moments where you can't stop reading because of the suspense, but they are rare and fleeting. It also doesn't help that any character (small amount in general) the MC interacts with become unimportant very quickly and makes the whole reading about their interactions reserved and less important.

IN SHORT: The story is similar to Naruto series in the fact that it feels like you are reading filler 80% of the time.

I enjoyed it. I can understand why many did not enter the introduction, because the introverted behavior of the main character and a small number of actors creates a rather dull atmosphere...

However, after he gets to the island, the dull atmosphere begins to dissipate, and at the last moment he even looks for communication himself! I perfectly understand why some people need a juicy beginning and everything else, but from the first chapters it was clear that this story would be about how a guy comes out of a desire to escape and hide, into a man who is ready to kill for his house and for his friends! (At the moment, this transformation is 70-80% complete)

The construction of the world is such that he lives without the main character, but I don't see this as a problem. The character grows in character along with the skills of the author. Many people do not like that a lot of attention is paid to the system here, and not to the world, although this is expected from the title of the book alone!

In short, the main character develops from a coward without a place in the world, to a person who has something to protect and he does it. Secondary characters appear in normal volume after the beginning of the arch with the island and the city. The world also begins to open up with the beginning of this arch... Bottom line: Make it to the arch with the island and enjoy a good story! It's like a set of rolls: First we eat tasteless, and finally the most delicious! The main thing is not to get full of tasteless :-)

This is by far one of the more entertaining light novels that I have read. My only complaint is that there are not enough chapters coming out. There are three a week but I am voracious when I find something I like!

Very good story. Puts a good spin on the 'runesmith' trope and done in a very understandable and precise way.

And most of all reliable release rate

Status: chapter 428 – after the hearing.

Been reading it on a different site for a long time. &Nbsp; It’s got to be my fave despite having read many dozens of web novels. Great rich description of family relations with birth family, wife and friends and a dog! Quite heartwarming how he sticks up for Lucienne. Good villains and nice portrayal of nobility. Couldn’t ask for more except increased chapter output and publishing on kindle. I’d gladly buy the kindle books for the search feature alone.

I don't really like the personality of the MC.

they think of himself, help people only if there is an interer behind.

in the last the last chapter during test gold rank.

he abandons a woman and her little girl to monsters, & go instead  save the captain of the boat...

(only for the purpose of using his boat...)

I really the pacing of this story as it gives some form of realism and sense in this fantasy world, although there are a few filler chapters and the pacing seems a little slow for a human protagonist. The system is well fleshed and comprehensive with no need for plot armor.

    Spoiler

I especially want to say how much I enjoy the romance as it isn’t an essential plot point nor does it consume the entire story. Like relationships in real life, the protagonist’s relationship exist separately from the main happenings of the story.

Pretty decent crafting-focused story. It's quite slow-paced and the crafting descriptions are so plentiful and detailed that you really have to enjoy that kind of things to get through them. There are also some problems with the MC's personality, he's so introverted and paranoid that there are long periods in the early part of the story where he barely has any meaningful character interaction. Romance comes into the story pretty late, and the time when the MC gets together with his girlfriend is entirely time-skipped, but after the time skip, there are some pretty enjoyable romantic moments. Action is pretty well written, MC is quite intelligent and likable despite his flaws, and after the first 90 or so chapters, MC finally starts having a bit of a social life. The story is moving in a good direction, MC has finally started to develop as a character and there's far more character interaction in the later half of the story compared the first half. Writing quality is pretty good overall, it feels mostly quite professional, though the author has rather severe problems with punctuation.

Recommended if you're into crafting-focused stories, otherwise you might want to skip this one.

Status: chapter 152 – shady business.

It's not written in an annoying way. +1 The grammar's fine. +1 Been a while since I read it, but I think it lacked "umfh" moments. I have read stuff that actually makes me a little pumped up, imagining the situation in the novel. I feel that this lacks those sorts of moments. I wish there was something unique about the races of that world, but alas, it's same old. -1 The MC is introverted, and if he could, he would do everything himself. I like that. +1. I also like that the novel avoids the generic hell holes and pit traps called harem and romance. +1 All novels that have those tags have authors with small pps. At the same time, it feels to me like no matter how this author writes a character, I can't give a sh*t about them. Maybe it's just me. ~. Pacing's quite slow. Like, it feels I'm in the early stage of arc 2 at chapter 400. Overall, it's above the average harem novel, which doesn't say much as harem novels are rock bottom. I gave it 4 because it avoids the usual annoyances I find in novels.
