Synopsis
Emma (née Marcus) Farrier has returned to her old home base of Halflance Manor, and she's returned on a mission: to hunt down and bring to justice the woman who brought her to Selene in the first place, the mad scientist Nika Tolva Tersine. But defeating Tersine and her armies of genetic hybrids and automaton super-soldiers is going to take wrangling a very uneasy alliance: Lady Halflance still thinks Emma is a renegade, the hybrid scientist Charcharias is running out of time, and Emma's girlfriend Laura is wrestling with her past. In this, the stunning conclusion to the Selene Saga, Emma has to answer the greatest question of all: who is she going to become?

I just spent the last few days plowing through this entire series, from Swords of Selene to the present day, and I'm absolutely happily blown away by this series. It presents an engaging look at a steampunk alternate reality of nothing but women in a way that's actually convincing and without a shred of talking down to the reader. I legitimately have zero complaints about this series and any feedback I might give would be blatant fanservice requests on my part.
If anything, this fic has made it clear that I need to up my writing game:

I've beta-read through chapter six, and this is a strong entry in the series so far, with believable and emotionally affecting conflict that arises naturally out of the characters, relationships, and setting elements established in the earlier books. I can't wait to see how Saffron brings it to a conclusion.
