Synopsis

Slimes are stupid!
Annoying little pests that don't think about anything.
How would they? They don't even have a brain.
They don't even think about what they do, dissolving anything in their reach.
That's worse than a beast acting on instinct, that's just following a program.
A plague of mindless balls of goo.
If it were up to me they should all get eradicated.
At least that’s what I thought.
Until my life was turned into a mess.

Stupid slimes!

I don't find any of the characters interesting or having meaningful development, aside from Shari herself. Even Shari feels unrealistic due to the circumstances surrounding her. She was abducted, transformed against her will, has nobody she can confide in (Liqu doesn't help), an immature yandere practically glued to her side, and is even a kill on sight target for most people. Shari's mental health should be absolutely terrible by this point, being a mental wreck, possibly even contemplating suicide. Formicea's MC at least has the possibility of safely interacting with humans assuming they take things slow, and eliminate on sight is incredibly unlikely. The only thing I enjoy about this story character-wise is the emotional struggle of Shari, but irritating yandere Liqu damages even this part.

There's also the problem with the transformation itself. I can understand that slimes get energy from bioelectricity or something similar. What I don't understand Is how the slime was even able to dissolve Shari's original body, or how she was able to survive. It's an established fact that slimes cannot control parts of themselves after they've been detached from their core, meaning the slime Shari ingested early on would have likely destroyed her digestive system leading to a painful death as her stomach acid leaks out and destroys the rest of her body from within. The core forming within her is an unknown factor as well.

Furthermore, Liqu mentions something about Shari's soul being especially strong. Generally in these types of stories, the soul partially animates the physical body. A stronger soul would likely reject any forceful changes made to the vessel, likely severely damaging or possibly even destroying itself when the changes are made anyway. This also brings up the possibility of Shari's human body being restored given time, possibly even giving her the ability to swap between forms

Maybe these issues are addressed in the 25 chapters I have yet to read, but I'm considering dropping this story if things don't improve soon.

TL, DR; Interesting concept littered with small plot holes and poor characterization combining into a mediocre story that has great potential with proper editing/ a rewrite to solve outlined issues

TLDR: I think it is a good story with an interesting concept and equally interesting characters. I am enjoying it very much.

      Long Version:

This story is quite unique. While there are plenty more slime protagonist stories out there, this one actually feels natural. I think the characters are likable, and that we can empathize with both protagonists' points of view.

Like others have mentioned, one of the best things about this story, compared to many of those, is the lack of LitRPG elements. No random stats and levels, nor an endless numbers of skills and overpowered abilities. I have nothing against the genre, but I simply can't take such things seriously.

The flow and speed are fine to me, and each chapter actually makes me want to keep reading. I always want to see what comes next.

Edit (Chapter 31) : Although I haven't been able to check previous chapters, I can tell that the author has made an effort to improve the writing. While I can still see some minor punctuation issues and the occasional sentence that could be arranged differently, long gone are those situations where I couldn't even understand what was being said.

Similarly, chapters that include Liqu's point of view have improved and no longer feel like a repetition of Shari's.

I believe the story has earned the 5th star I didn't give at first.

      Outdated review below:

      Spoiler

Now, I have two small issues with the story, which is why I give it a 4 star score instead of 5. The first, and least important, is the way the character perspectives are handled.

I agree that it's important to see the thoughts of both protagonists, but I believe that rewriting a chapter we already read and simply changing the perspective from one character to the other can be rather tedious for us readers because of how small those changes can be sometimes. I just get that feeling of: "I've already read this".

I won't lie, I tend to just skim through the chapters that show Liqu's point of view precisely because they feel like a repeat of Shari's. This method is effective, but as a writer, I wouldn't like it if people simply skimmed through my story like that. I want them to fully enjoy it.

Unfortunately, I can't think of a good suggestion to fix this issue. I'm sorry about that. Not to worry, though. Like I said, it's not a really big problem, and it doesn't really take away from the story.

There is, however, a much bigger issue, and that would be grammar and spelling. It almost feels as if there were two authors working on this. At one moment, I'm reading a very well written paragraph, and right after that, there can be a sentence that honestly makes no sense grammatically.

I've also located some typical minor mistakes, like the confusion between "then" and "than", to mention one.

I know not everyone is proficient in English. I, myself, am not a native English speaker, and still have much to learn, but I do try my best to make it easier for everyone else understand my own story.

I believe this story could shine even brighter if the author got someone to proofread their work.

      Really like this story.

Good slime girl stories are sadly not so common. Nice to have this one.

Here we get two interesseting MCs, Shari and Liqu, with two very different points of view.

      Shari:
Shari getting thrown in this "situation", her thoughts and the strange or foreign feeling of her new body and its possibilities are described very well. This part is essential and the charm of a transformation story, in my view. Why change the body if everything else doesn't change?

      Liqu:
With Liqu we get the perspective of a "real" but sentient slime, with partly really unsettling thoughts and conclusions. The change of POV to Liqu is in later chapters not too frequent, good for a better understanding of Liqus actions and always a valuable addition to Sharis POV.

      Setting:
The reactions of humans and your typical adventures or Sharis parents about a sentient slime are well written. I love the interaction between humans and non-humans in the first place. With some rare exceptions all character have in general comprehensible motivations and thoughts. The medieval fantasy world is solid and also well done. No LitRPG elements (like Level, skill, etc.), which gives this story a more "realistic" and natural approach than similar stories.

      About Liqu:
Liqus obsession for Shari and the resulting actions of her in the beginning of the story, are a good example for this unsettling thoughts. Mostly because of her lacking of common human logic and missing of human mindset and values. I'm not a big fan of Yanderes in general, but Liqu is, with some exceptions, kind of a nice caring Yandere type I really can like. Even with her understandable but often really problematic or annoying actions.
      About the later character development:
It's nice to see a slow developing understanding of both characters for each other, even Liqu slowly growing to Shari, despite Sharis forceful transformation by Liqu. Things like "the linking of cores" and other typical slime like features are a nice addition I really like.
      About the later story development:

The shift of focus of the story from "hiding identity as good as possible" too "lets reveal us to the lord and let's get a job like this" was a big change I was unsure if I would really like that much, but the story did well and so we get even more interactions between humans, that know they are talking with slimes, with Shari and Liqu.

      9/10

One of those stories its hard to stop reading.
Would read again. Looking forward to the next chapter.

So, there are not a lot of good slime girl stories out there. Thankfully this one is different! No silly Gamelit stuff, no stats just wonderful mindbreaking slime girl adventures! The only thing I personally dislike is the short chapters as I am a sucker for long chapters!

The grammar and sentence structure are fine and not offensive but are overshadowed by the curious characters and interesting story.

All in all a very nice read and I can barely wait for the next chapter.

This story starts with terrible grammar and very creative punctuation, but it gets much better after a while.

Once you have made it through those early chapters, you encounter a nice story. Some of the characters are a bit too stereotypical for my liking, but I like the idea of the novel.

      Spoiler

I just wish Shari would treat Liqu better

Well, this so far is the best work of this author. It's written in simplistic manner, probably to save on time, since author is publishing 3 more web novels. But, finally, we have a decent protagonist and supporting caste, as well as side characters at the level they've been at in "Formite". There's no real antagonists so far: it's mostly corrupt officials or crime "lords" who stand in the way, as well as some invading forces of another country. MC, while whiny, still does things that are necessary when it is needed, comparable to protagonists of other works from this writer (did more stuff in 100 chapters than eldritch's and formite's MCs combined in 200). Nobles here are more realistic than what you'd see in a certain asian country's "literature": they are able to do the governing work at the very least, no matter if they oppose or support the protagonist.

If author is ever going to rewrite this into proper book and publish, i'd buy it and rate bery close to 5 (still depends if the level of attention to characters, their interactions and overall story is going to be preserved throughout the whole thing).

Don't pay too much attention to those saying MCs cause of bodily problems is annoying - she's not, her worldview is drastically different and that's all, but she adapts and learns properly, albeit slowly (which is also a trait of the species, so that's some worldbuilding work done proper)

A very interesting book that looks like bad fan fiction at the beginning, but significantly improves the quality in the future. Although some (one of the two) main characters may be annoying, it is described logically and this is exactly what you expect from him in the end. At the same time, watching other heroes is interesting. Although they are quite formulaic for a fantasy setting, they have designated characters, principles and motives. Their actions look justified, almost always except for some moments. The only thing I'm worried about is that the storylines don't hang in the air. The author has already created an interesting, but at the same time not too overloaded world. And I hope that the characters and events that were shown to us just a little bit - teasingly - will be revealed in the future. Such as the past of adventurers, the motives of nobles, the fate of a female alchemist and of course the story of the dragon! It can also be called a minus that the main character is the daughter of peasants, but surprisingly well aware of many things in the world.

Firstly, thanks you author for writing this story, its nice piece of work.
Story is about development of sentient slime, her (?) child-like curiosity and interaction with others. Story is progressing on moderate speed, with some chapters that are describing the same thing from different perspectives. It's only a beginning so world is not really developed, but what already has been shown is quite consistent.
Overall - I feel it will be great story.
About grammar - English is not my native language, so I won't be able to catch any mistakes, but novel is easy to read.

This story demonstrates a truly grotesque understanding of trauma and how it affects people. I found myself quite disgusted with how characters interacted with it.

This ain't it! Absolutely the heck not.
