Items
Kariot

Kariots are chariots powered solely by magic through the use of runes. For a Kingdom like Legume which is far from being internationally connected, Kariots are rare and a sign of great wealth. Currently, there are two or three Kariots in the whole country - one with the Royal Family and the other with the Prime Minister.

Kariot use is a method of mind magic as the Karioter must connect their mind to the machine in order to use it. Thus Karioters are often as expensive as Kariots to hire. Karioters are also often deaf or deafened in order to drive the machine as most people that use Kariots are people of power who do not want any eavesdropping.

The Kariot is divided into two main sections: one for the use of the passengers and the other for the use of the driver. Kariots can be very fast going up to 180mph. However, hardly anyone does this because such a ride would cost an astronomical amount mana stones to power it and could break the mind of a Karioter as well as render the vehicle unusable. Only once has a Karioter gone that fast and to disastrous effect. To counteract a Kariot from going that fast, the makers have placed a manual limiter on the vehicle that requires both the passengers and the driver to break.

Regardless of the expenses, Kariots are a preferred vehicle for leisurely rides as they are often smooth and due to the runes surrounding the vehicle, very versatile. They are covered in steel and can guard against a minor magical attack with ease. They can block a medium magical attack but this will lead to the vehicle getting some damage. Still, any magical protection in this world is appreciated.
