A cosmic horror romantic comedy.
Hello, human. My name would set your tongue on fire and boil your brain, so you can just call me Irene. I'm here to help.
Heaven has been abandoned. The Kingdom has fallen into disrepair. Your prayers are going unanswered. I know it's a lot to take in.
My sisters and I are gonna fix it. Hey, someone has to. Otherwise, you're on your own. We know what it's like to be lonely. We are going to make sure humanity is never lonely again.
But we can't do it alone. That's what the Warlock is for. Caspar Cartwright is a hapless hedge mage I've saved from the scaffold and the noose. I've plucked him from his grave and sent him back with my power at his fingertips and a mission branded into his heart. Face the servants of the dead god, find the key, open the gate to the Kingdom.
And let me in.

Some spoilers incoming. Nothing very specific but you have been warned.
Having Irene be the narrator, talking to the reader directly, constantly calling Casper "himbo". It was all meant to be charming and funny but it took me right out of the story every time. Add to that the impetus for the whole story was the FMC and her sisters killing God - because that's what the Father is, let's be real. "What if the church/religion was actually secretly evil?" is a threadbare trope at this point. Not a Christian, or even very religious, just over that trope.
The way Dukerino explained how an Elder God could fall in love with a human was novel and creative - that's like 2 of the stars of my review tbh. The relationship progressed in an enjoyable manner. S*x scenes were nice. Combat felt good, even if the action was confusing and sometimes required a reread. The worldbuilding of Pastornos and its history was intriguing.
I don't regret reading The Warlock at all. It's just not on the same level as the first book of Power Trio or Princess of the Void in my mind.

I was immediately transfixed by this story. The inventive perspective, the humor, the quality of the prose is all incredible. The pace is great and keeps you looking for more details. I joined the author's patreon so I could read the ending sooner. Now I want a void patron of my own.

The romance is fun, the trauma is evolving, and the world our hero is romping through is well developed. Good stuff.

The world is interesting, the characters are great, but what really makes this story so special is the prose.
The story is told from the perspective of a godlike entity who's actively participating in the story and is very much in love with one of the main characters. And that love is so clear in how she speaks that you can feel the affection just by reading. It's an interesting feeling that the prose itself can feel so gentle and soft and kind that it makes reading this feel like a warm blanket. Even during the hard times, you can feel so much love and care in the way she narrates that you just gotta believe it's gonna be okay.
10/10, would offer my soul to these Elder Gods.

Just sat down and enjoyed the story from start to ch 16 in one extremely fun sitting.
Sublime prose, clean and quick, with a whole lot of heart and some fantastic descriptions. Rapid visuals, strong metaphors, and really excellent, highly detailed action. This story punches from beat to beat without any hesitation, and the pacing is as certain as a road up a mountain, rising as rapidly as possible towards the heights, but enjoying the vista as it spreads out before us.
The POV character, Irene, is a joy. Fondness for the cast shine's through in Irene's thoughtful narration, and her conversational tone with the reader shows the author's deep awareness of the medium. Irene isn't merely describing a story; she is communicating to us, the reader, with an idea of what we might be thinking--or maybe a suggestion of how we ought to think about things. Even if you aren't into men, you'll understand the s*xual appeal of our good himbo Caspar, as Irene pours her feelings onto the page for your appreciation.
And in the end, this is a story with a series of complementary themes, many of them heavy, carried in a lighthearted vehicle of romance and action. My favorites are the value of faith, the peculiarities of humanity and romance, and a question of what life-after-death should be, if we are to choose an afterlife for everyone forever after.
Absolutely superb stuff. I'll be following this one!

Absolutely beautiful. I love Irene as the FL its a unique take on a FL and I love it. I like Casper as a character he doesn't have any annoying features to him that mc's would often have. The way you narrate the story through Irene's eyes is nice and fluid I thought I wouldn't like it when I first saw it, but no its actually really nice. And And the overall theme I find really nice, the parts about heaven, the religion and the sisters its something I haven't seen before.
