Synopsis

When people die, where do they end up to?
I don't know about anyone else, but when I died, I arrived at the strangest Heaven of all times. And I got a chance to reincarnate with all of my memories!

Jackpot!
If you look away from the fact I had to reincarnate as a damn monster which is the lowest of all the bottom feeders? And I had to represent one of the worst goddesses ever!?

And to make things worse, my "birthplace" was a freaking Dungeon! And not your everyday Dungeon with level 1 slimes and goblins, but a freaking Dungeon-turned-world-destroying-facility!

Still, you gotta work with what you have. So see me how I survive in this crazy new world!!

...But I promise I won't be mad if the bosses get debuffed. No? Damn...

This is a rewrite of my "A Reincarnated Demon's Tales of Wonder" series, with a new plot and improved mechanics.
The story will also be given an updated version (which includes newer elements from the story earlier on) on Royal Road.
This is just something I write in my free time.

Thanks to lolodu09 for the cover image.

English is not my first language, so expect bad grammar.

Status: [arc 3] epilogue: after the work,...

I have read the original version of this novel, not to sound like a broken record, but I too think that the original story did not need a rewrite.

This story feels rushed, and at the end of Arc 3, I am slightly lost on what is going on anymore, there are too many POVs going on in this novel and it seems to hop between each chracther every chapter, so by the time it cycles back to the chracther, I don't have an idea on what is going on.

In conclusion, I am just really dissapointed in the rewrite, I loved the original novel and the rewrite feels like a really poor imitation of the original novel. The structure is there but the substance isn't.

This story, you either like it, or you hate it. Its pretty complicated to write a review for this particular story since there are things I love and things I hate at the same time. I'll just write a simple pros and cons list instead of my normal reviews for this one.

    Pros:

    - Unique writing style

    - Well-defined MC personality

    - Well-rounded explanation for basically everything

    - Above average worldbuilding

    Cons:

    - The writing style can be really irritating (maybe its just me)

    - Doesn't cover much other than the MC and their surroundings (95% of the time MC POV), making all characters other than the MC seem rather shallow.

    - The MC seems to have a lower amount of brain cells than even the typical moronic WN protagonist. Reading the MC's inner monologue can sometimes really make you question your own IQ

    - Info dump. A LOT of info dumps. Its like there's an info dump about skills, stats, other creatures and etc. Every other chapter. It can get really annoying.

    - (minor complain) The eechi and R-18 tags are COMPLETELY useless. Not a single point in adding them. Nothing remotely lewd happened in the story (at least up to my point). Would rather the auhor to just remove those 2 tags if not for the sake of attracting more readers.

I enjoy the story for the most part, but I do have some problems. The characters all sound the same and they are all defined by just their one flaw. Also there are no character arcs and it just makes the plot seem hollow.

Well, this story has it merits and demerits. As a fan of system (game elements, skills, stats, etc) fiction I pretty much like the idea of this story, though the beginning strongly reminds me about certain white spider. But demerits are to big to be not noticed.

You may notice that first arc is heavy on info dumps. Fights are very confusing and sometimes uninteresting. And this constant info delays... Why, just, why? Why must author write about some rewards and important decisions later? I get it that author wanted to create intrigue but it is doesn't work that way when you literally write about it in the next chapter (maybe even in the same).

Another thing that annoyed me in the first arc is it's ending.

    Spoiler

Garami defeated a fake god, completed dungeon, became one of the strongest creatures in this dungeon (not on level of King Cobra or smth but still), she has tone of skills with high levels and epic titles. Cool, right? Nope, one hit K.O. from some random guy. Yep he is strong and has high position in organization, but for f*** sake one hit? And she couldn't even react to his attack.

    [collapse]

Arc 1 disappointed me. I hope that the next arc is better than Arc 1 but if not, I will drop this story. If it is possible to update reviews, I will write if it gets better or not.

    Update:
Okay, I made mistake about this K.O. in spoiler.
It was organization leader, so it's okay.

Still, I can't see any good things coming after reading few more chapters so I'm dropping this. If you want to spent some free time feel free to try this story, but do not expect great things from it.

P.S. Sorry for any mistakes I possibly made there (pretty sure there are some), English is not my native language.

    Pros:

The story was going really well on Arc 1 and 2. With nice writing style, fluid story plot, funny moments, I like many of the side chars, likeable and not too op MC.

Cons: Then, in the last arcs it's been a soap of POVs, I barely see the MC POV anymore. And there a lot of info dump at the end of the chapters, which are not very relevant to the main story. And for me, it's sad that the `Girls love` tag here is more like a few extra chapters with hetero s*x.

I tried, I really did. I got up to Arc 1 Chapter 14 and by that point I was already skimming and speed reading in hope the story and writing would improve. Alas, unless you are a fan of endless exposition, annoying 1st person perspective, a fully developed protagonist from a personal standpoint, clunky narration and over saturation of litrpg elements... then this story isn't for you. Just as it isn't for me.

But, if you are into those things, then you are in for a treat and will enjoy this immensely.

The tale itself feels like a clone of "So I'm a Spider, so What?" Just less cute and adorable than the manga/anime that has inspired this tale due to the excessive focus on the litrpg mechanics. As for litrpg creation, I suspect the companion piece, "Kigel Note" will prove to a better read for those looking to see how someone else comes up with all the elements that make up a litrpg.

End of the day, can't recommend. Might try original version as commenters suggested that the original version of this story had a more organic feel to it...

You know how you sometimes get the urge to rewrite parts of a story or go in another direction and make it perfect for you? Then you realize if you actually did that it'd be plagiarism and you'd have to rewrite the entire story? Well, that's what this is.

Arc 1 is actually pretty solid, even if it went off the rails near the end. It had a solid direction and the comedy was, while not funny, placed well enough that it didn't subtract from the story. Seeing as the story is infodump galore, I was even looking forward to seeing how the cities were ran and how they'd react to the MC. Maybe we're close to one of the xenophobic countries?

Then Arc 2 hits and we're immediately faced with issues. The comedy immediately takes center stage, the world building disappears entirely with the MC being accepted completely, the crappy skill and monster infodumps continue, and the story becomes directionless.

Not at the stage of dropping it just yet. Hopefully it'll improve.

    It's fun.

For a webnovel, it's very well edited. It's told from the mental PoV of the MC. This can get kind of wacky as the panicked ADHD-like thoughts can be all over the place. But I just think it's fun! The author does have a habit of pulling a rabbit out of their hat to solve situations instead of giving the player all of the information straight away, but honestly, this has been so fun and silly that I just learned to accept it.

    Minor spoilers ahead:

So far, the MC has evolved a few times in interesting ways. No real tough choices like "evolve into a super hot succubus" vs. "Evolve into a super hot sorceress", yet - a lot of it is kind of obvious what should be picked. A few combat/quest scenarios end with the MC pulling a skill or item (bombs, barrels of rum, bottles of rum, 1-time KO protection, etc.) out of nowhere. But again, I've learned to live with it. This isn't a who-done-it, after all.

For the author, if you were curious, I took off.5 because the MC sometimes just goes on and on and on about weird things (I debated about ignoring it, this is a review, not a critique/opinion, but I felt it went on just long enough to take away from the flow and pacing) and another.5 for pulling rabbits out of your hat too often. I may adjust this later if the rest of the story stops doing those things.

Amazing work, I'm glad I came across this. Hopefully it holds up beyond [Arc 1] Extra Chapter 2! 👍

I like some of the stuff in this story, to bad that almost all of the good stuffs are straight rip off from other IP. Like a lot. Being derivative is not a crime, but direct plagiarism is always in bad taste. The rest being a cliches galore didn't help.

Suffer a lot from lack of editing, that's a given for a hobbyist project tho.

It read more as a compilation of vignettes, loosely connected, even within the same arc, as the author call it.

By the standards of this type of web novels it's not awful, nor it's good.

An excellent story to follow. A little demon who wants to live quietly with his girlfriend and his gang, but due to the situation created by the worst goddess of all time (Ria chan) is forced to live 24 hours a day as if in a survival game (the which is not wrong to say), as the world (but known as the author and Ria chan) always finds a way to make Garami work.

This is a rewrite of the author's first story, this rewrite was very good because it removed many plot holes, besides making the world system much better. In addition to giving more space to the gang members to work, even though Garami is a monster, in this version she tries to create little monsters to accompany her on her adventures.
