“The grand clockwork of time has always turned. The past has always retreated away, but eventually it comes back. Maybe not in the same form, perhaps it has become almost unrecognizable, players and pieces scrambled about so that it becomes something new. But it still means that the gears have turned. War lies through the past and the wheel is turning. Everything is going to burn unless people stop assuming the same reasons that they once did. Entropy cannot be staved off. They are returning. And we have not changed.”

Amturia is a realm of many gateways. Other realms open up into it, and other lands lie hidden across the seas. It is peaceful now, but that was not always so. The last major war was the Scouring, which began when a Gate to the plane of Entropy was accidentally created, and its denizens invaded.
Now, the past is coming back, as a member of the tribe Isonin – traitors who prevented the Gates from being sealed and escalated the Scouring – washes up on a desolate shoreline.
Memories of the past have long scarred the denizens of Amturia, and one would easily expect war to be the only possibility. But what happens when the outcast is of a truly open mind? They can’t even recall their own name.

Histories Rising follows Tifl, member of a clan made scapegoats for an ancient conflict, as they wash up on a beach without any memory of their past. That ancient conflict is beginning to brew once more, and Tifl must set off to recover their memories and understand the world around them, or else their people may lose any hope of reclaiming their place.
