A spell-tainted dragoon is caught in his own futile attack against foreign oppressors. Facing a death by drowning and finding that he gave up his life too easily, he lets the capricious spirit of unshackled fire into his soul. Armed with the fell flames of a proscribed faith, the dragoon is free to continue a war already lost. As his body transforms into a feminine form to accommodate the true spirit of its two inhabitants, the young soldier's very self threatens to slither away, until only the spite of a rebel and a goddess remains.
