Kato Nishimura, a simple businessman nearing his forties is plagued with a broken home and depressing work life, constantly having to deal with the pressures of his boss' demands combined with the endless, constant bickering between his wife Riyu Okuyo and his daughter Eiri, who had gotten into her rebellious phase not long before.

Despite his best efforts trying to help them reconcile, any attempt only further drives a wedge between the two. Fed up with the constant mental toll his stress filled life puts on him, when his daughter, day after day, asked to turn away from school to go on an adventure, he one day decided to take her up on her offer.
