God of magic and our main character

The result of one converging their mana densely enough to form a crystal. Much harder to form than mana potions(liquid form of converged mana). The size depends on the amount of mana one converges together(if it passes the threshold amount needed to make it a solid in the first place). Purity depends on how dense the mana used to make the crystal is compacted.

The purity is often seen as more valuable, for you can have more mana in a smaller space, and you can absorb them faster. Unfortunately, it is incredibly difficult to increase the purity of a mana crystal. That is not implying that the size is easy to increase, as the largest mana crystal humanity has created was the size of a circular rock with a radius of 8in./20.32cm. with the lowest purity humanly possible.

Mana crystals larger than a palm lack purity and are only used as expensive decorations.

Mana crystals suited for actual combat are not available to the general public.

The liquid form of converged mana; easier to make than the solid form. Available for decent prices to the public. It has the same qualities of mana crystals: purity and quantity/size.  The more pure it is, the more expensive it is.

The capital of the Edaris continent.

The continent where most of this story takes place. The other continents are either uninhabited, filled with dangerous beasts(magical or otherwise), or lacking in resources and only home to a few villages or tribes of half humans(often half beasts who have different ideals, morals, and lifestyles as the general public, to the point where they are willing to go live in a worse continent.)

One of those half beast continents.(the largest and the one with the most population) Has less resources than Edaris and is overall pretty bad.

This place might never be visited by our MC, but it will definitely be mentioned...

If you want to know why this exists then I’ll explain:

I have the attention span of a potato.

I was working on one story, then I went to bed, and started thinking about the next thing that’s supposed to happen. I somehow got mixed up(I think I fell asleep and started thinking again in the morning) and planned a portion of a different story. 

Then I was like: you know what, that was pretty cool I’m gonna go write that book. I then got sidetracked and started writing this, a story I once told to my brother who began calling it: the old man story (because the MC’s an immortal)

So there you have it folk.  You got to read me getting distracted again and telling the tale of my journey to begin writing this book: A random story I came up with on a whim after listening to ‘The Moss’ by Cosmo Sheldrake.

And yes I am aware that it’s bad. You gotta start somewhere.

A Spell-Caster is a type of magician. It is the most common type of magicians as they are primarily focused on being able to cast and use spells. So common that the public has began to view the two terms (magician and Spell-Caster) as synonymous.

The director(for the purposes of this book) is in a position above the headmaster, who is in charge of most of the logistics of the school(exams, safety and such) whereas the headmaster is more of an authority figure in charge of the students themselves.

Sometimes a cringe inducing title is needed.

Seals are magic formations that are essentially spells that can continue to work without a continuous flow of mana. The price for this is the large amount of mana that goes into activating it in the first place. Not to mention, the mana and skill needed to make it. Runes are the patterns that makes up Seals.

In the book, it's the widespread language used way back then, but really, it's just total bullshit I made up that may or may not be loosely based off a variety of different real life languages.
