A former dungeon boss, once feared across the land, seeks a peaceful life after centuries of managing minions, traps, and treasure. Now living in a remote town disguised as an ordinary human, he dedicates himself to raising his adopted human daughter, Lila. However, her adventurous spirit and determination to become a hero keep pulling him back into the dangerous world he left behind. To protect her, he secretly uses his dungeon-master skills to manipulate their quests and ensure her safety, all while trying to keep his true identity hidden.
It started out strong. I quite liked the first couple of chapters, but it started to fall off after that.
The whole party gathering felt a bit too forced it felt more like a D&D campaign's first session where the DM has your characters meet for the first time, and the whole fight with the other party felt more like a plot event in a video game I think there was a bit of a time skip between chapters 13 and 14, but the author didn't specify, and they talk about how this other party is one of the strongest in the local guild, but they didn't really give us any frame of reference as to the power scaling
overall, I would rate it
chapters 1-6: 5 stars
chapters 7-13: 4 stars
and chapters 14-16: 3 stars
overall, it is pretty good writing for someone's first attempt at writing a novel
