I woke up in a body that wasn’t mine.
The face staring back at me in the mirror was familiar but wrong—softer, more delicate, with eyes that seemed to belong to someone else entirely. Everything about this world felt the same at first glance, but it wasn’t. Here, the roles were reversed. Women walked with power, dominating every corner of society, while men, beautiful and fragile, occupied a quieter space, valued for their grace and charm rather than their strength or ambition.
In this strange new life, I’m Kieran—an eighteen-year-old boy with no family, no friends, and barely enough in the bank to scrape by. Soon, I’ll be starting at Elyndra University in a city I’ve never been to, surrounded by people I don’t know. It’s a chance to start over, to build something out of this second life I’ve been handed. But navigating a world where men are expected to stay in the background is harder than I thought, especially when I refuse to follow all the rules.
As I uncover fragments of Kieran’s past, the shadows of my old life tug at me, begging to be forgotten. But this new world is far from perfect, and not everyone fits neatly into the roles they’re assigned. If I want to survive—and maybe even thrive—I’ll have to learn to play the game. And who knows? Maybe I’ll discover who I was meant to be all along.
A second life. A reversed world. What would you do with the chance to rewrite your story?
I've read the first chapter and found the writing to be very suspicious. Too detailed and... "clean".
So then I put the whole chapter on an AI detection tool and, lo and behold, it tells there's a 100% probablity of it being written by an AI...
"Just wrote this for fun"? Haha, right...
