Jade seized my chin and then it was her turn to blink. “You’re a mess, Salty. When was the last time you fed?”
I hesitated, looking away.
She slapped me. “Answer me, you little fool.”
“T-two days, I think,” I muttered.
She gave an astonished groan. “You could have gone into bloodlust and attacked someone! What in the green one’s name were you thinking, coming to class this way?”
“I can control myself,” I gritted back.
“You’re lucky I brought this.” Jade pulled a bottle of cream out of her satchel.
“What?” I stiffened. “No–”
“Oh hush.”
“Jade,” I protested, eyeing the bottle of cream apprehensively. “I-I need blood. You don’t understand–”
“Drink,” she said softly, tipping the lip of the bottle to my mouth so I was forced to gulp or have it spilled all down the front of my whites. My cheeks turned hot as my eyes caught Jade’s triumphant gaze. My mouth filled with a soft, cloudy feeling, and within seconds it spread to my brain. My fangs slowly retracted, my pupils stopped throbbing, and I sighed as my body relaxed.
Jade lifted the bottle away and wiped my chin with her sleeve. The hot ache in my fangs had become a hot ache between my thighs. Her green eyes roamed over my face. I felt porous, flushed.
“Good vampire,” she said smugly and I almost died of humiliation as the fire between my legs roared. Jade chuckled. “Feeling a little hot down there, Salty?”
“N-no,” I mumbled and shook my head stubbornly.
“Maybe we should start calling you Milky.”
I tried to pierce her with my best glare. “Do not,” I grated. “Under any circumstances, call me Milky.”
“We’ll see,” she said archly. “If you behave.”
