Just another typical xianxia. Makes the same miserable mistakes every other one like it does. Has the same awful types of plot arcs every other one does. In short. Another awful story in an awful genre that's always been nothing more than wish fulfillment. That is literally all the genre is for, because quality writing has never been apart of its recipe.
Only a select few have ever caught my interest, and this one is just as bad as some of the worst. How it ever got 2nd place in the trending is beyond my understanding. But I digress. To each their own. Opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one.

This is a really great novel that manages to keep me as a reader entertained and constantly wanting to come back and read more. The author has managed to make me laugh, be invested and cry like a child. I believe that to be testament to the amazing work that has gone into this well thought, well written and addictive novel.
5/5 currently finished book 1 - 5
I have read multiple works by multiple author on different sites and this is my truest contender for best one yet.
To author: I love your work you are a champ.

A really well written and planned story.
The main character starts out as your typical generic japanese protagonist, a lazy bum that just wants to sleep and live a simple life without ever working hard for anything. If you can endure this type of protagonist and the logic behind the plot of the first book then you might fall in love with the story.
I was actually looking forward to seeing this kid grown up and actually working hard, especially with how interesting the world and cultivation system the author created are.
But I can't bring myself to keep reading, so give it a shot reading the first book and then decide for yourselves if you keep reading or not.

A lot of stories in the Xianxia genre are all about cultivation, with story events being there to push the MC to greater heights. But this story deviates from that formula by primarily being a drama, and the MC pushing himself to greater heights to keep up with the story events. You'll likely have a feel for the story and It's themes by the end of book 4 or so.

Good for what it is. Book 3 had a great end which transition towards it becoming a battle academy novel.
