Qube was designed to die.

As the cheerful childhood NPC companion who helps the [Player] learn the world during the start of the game, it was only natural that the big bad would kill her at the end of the tutorial, kick-starting the Player on a quest for vengeance.

The only thing is, no one told her that...

And this particular Player doesn’t like to play by the rules. Being a chaos-loving gremlin, he glitches her out of her programming and drags her on various adventures. They'll grapple with friendly sharktopuses, Evil Emperors, and what it means to be a person.

On the way they pick up equally unlikely party members, with Qube breaking the world in increasingly strange ways as she seeks to be the very best Companion ever. All the while, Qube herself slowly realizes that her reality is not quite what it seems.

A loving parody of old school games, dungeon's and dragons, and every player who has ever thought “what happens if I do this...”

I recommend giving this a try!

It has an interesting premise and it's well written! It follows the "hero's childhood friend/guide" role inside a game and her point of view as the "hero" enters the game.

It has its funny moments when she reacts to how the "hero" is exploring the game as a normal player would (getting supplies in the woods, interacting with the NPC's, doing quest and getting rewards). However, it also has its cute moments with the interactions between characters which make it wholesome. There are tiny mysteries too that are intriguing.

I'm someone who likes romance but the interactions were so enjoyable that romance isn't needed. (I still ship tho, a girl can dream)

There is character development, mainly noticeable in the MC and "hero" as they explore the game and other characters including each other which makes them more realistic and relatable.

You don't have to be a gamer to understand what's happening (I'm not a gamer and I didn't have much trouble understanding whats happening".

    Anyways, GIVE IT A TRY!

And don't forget to support my ship ;)

This is truly a hidden gem.

This series feels like a book I would pick up at the local library. The plot is new and refreshing, the setting is well-thought out and the characters are genuinely entertaining. You will find yourself rooting alongside each and every one of them as they work through their problems and rise to challenges. I read the entire thing and didn't notice a single spelling or grammar error, which is something I haven't seen from any other 100+ chapter series i've read on this site so far. The fact that I was able to take the serious moments of the novel so seriously when two of the main cast are named "Sewer Bard" and "s*xy Screamy Spider Lady" attests to how good the writing is.

In summary: This is one hell of a good read. I'd highly recommend it, and consider dropping a few dollars on the writer's Patreon. With this writing quality, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between this and an eBook found on say, Kindle.

This is way more than I thought it'd be. Even though it's primarily comedy (and the best I've read/watched since Konosuba or Girlfriend, Girlfriend), the story is definetly not afraid to touch on the deeper, emotional, and/or unsettling aspects, and come away with wholesome and emotional crap that I'd never expected from a webnovel like this! Also the best use of misunderstanding comedy I've seen- they don't cross the line into annoying, and a sizeable chunk of them are actually addressed properly down the line or even almost immediately. They also don't drag sh*t out needlessly.

    It's wonderful and hilarious.

We follow the perspective of Qube, giving us a unique point of view on the glitches and game-breaking exploits the Chosen One produces. Her thought and ideas are also interesting and amusing, as is her understanding of the things the player does. Their interactions are great as well, though rife with misunderstandings and bullying of the poor, silly Childhood Companion.
