They found themselves separated in a world that is both alien and familiar, where the sky is filled with floating skyscrapers and magic and technology coexist. Now they have to find each other with the help of supervillains, giant mercenaries wielding giant hammers, and a talking cat named Mort. Will they find each other and, if they do, will they have changed too much?

    Status: chapter 34: reunited

This is easily one of the most gripping and interesting stories I've ever read in my life. It's got a polyamorous love that transcends realities, a vibrantly cyberpunk setting, and a habit of showing scenes from the past and present poignantly mixed together. The plot is a puzzle that the readers aren't directly given all the pieces to. You've always got just enough of an idea of what's going on to make each twist and turn of the narrative more impactful than the last.

Show this to your friends. Beam it out into space. You won't regret it. 11/10.

Ohh, this story is a feast.

Elevator pitch, to be read in a raspy film noir voice: Three dorky gay friends get shot through a wormhole, into a subterranean cyberpunk city. Seperated, they scramble for survival and try to find one another. But the hard rain and neon of the city changes you. Will they be the same people when they reunite?

Properly cyber, properly punk, and shenanigans aplenty. Add in cute polycules, transhumanist solutions to dysphoria and a talking cat, and you've got the recipe for a great story.

I've beta-read this in first draft (as far as chapter 31, which is apparently fairly near the end).  It's a wonderfully clever story, doing interesting things with the character arcs, worldbuilding, and narrative structure.  There are lots of surprises on every level and a good balance between fluff, drama, and action.  Highly recommended (though you might want to try one of Elamimax's other, completed stories first if you haven't read them yet).

A very weird, overly artificial world with a very cyberpunky feel to it, weird tech, weird magic, crime, love, hope, desperation, the tightest friendship, self-discovery, lots of dorky characters,...

If anyone asked me for a reason to avoid this story, I couldn't name a single thing. It's just so wonderful!

Look if youve read any of Elamimaxs other stories you are going to want to read this. If you haven't then this is a good place to start.

All of her stuff is incredibly good but this story stands out to me as one of her best. The beautiful mix of comedy, romance, drama, mystery and action is perfect in my opinion. Each character feels different and learning about them and seeing them grow is incredibly rewarding

excellent Sci-Fi story. Reminiscent of stuff I read as a kid in the 80s. Lots of creative world-building and stuff.
