Monster x human is a favourite trope of mine, so of course I'm enjoying myself~!

I'm enjoying this story a lot more than I was expecting to, though. The romance is well-crafted. It doesn't rush to feed the reader fanservice and the characters becoming closer happens over a long period of time, nicely paced with timeskips that don't make me feel as if I'm missing out on the development.

It's refreshing to have a scammer as the main character. I'm too used to having black-bellied semes and innocent, naive ukes. Those "pure-hearted" characters can act greedy or wily and be called out on their flaws, but they're still idealised as innocent and cute.

This novel, on the other hand, took me pleasantly off-guard by calling a spade a spade. Klue looks soft and innocent on the outside, but he's a scam artist even in love and the story never tries to dress that up. He's lovable despite that.

The scattering of darker plot elements introduced so far have me looking forward to the rest of the story.

This might not make the top of my lists, but this is still a pretty good story. There are a few plot holes here and there, but the writing style was so charming that I actually forgot about them. My only complaint for the whole thing would be a lack of description of character's appearances. This is just a personal thing because I like to be able to visualize all my characters (especially during the steamy type of scenes) but other than that, it really is a nicely written story.
