Cardiologist Mishima and his superior Asakura conduct a clinical trial for a revolutionary iPS cell-based regenerative drug to save patients with heart disease. When three patients develop malignant tumors, they discover a manufacturing error from the development chief, Takizawa. However, Department Head Washio, aiming for the presidency, pressures Takizawa to conceal the error.
Mishima and Asakura request unblinding of the drug assignment, but Washio fraudulently announces all three cases as the placebo. Suspecting carcinogens from the new drug, the doctors focus on the patients' frozen specimens.
To expose Washio's corruption, Takizawa asks Mishima to transport the frozen specimens to him for analysis. Washio tries to coerce Asakura into stealing the specimens with a threatened scandal, but Asakura refuses.
After evading Washio's pursuers, Mishima successfully delivers the specimens to Takizawa, securing evidence of the fraud.
